Appearance is a deep, inky black with a good sized, dark tan head. Continues to show good retention, especially for an imperial stout.

Big milk chocolate and malted milkshake aroma, mixed with some hops and alcohol spice. Nice.

Taste follows the aroma with smooth sweetness. A lot of chocolate, roasted malt, and a sweet finish.

Mouthfeel is thick and this beer really coats the mouth.

From a bottle into a stella chalice while watching the finals of the players, a good sunday funday

A: Black, Dark brown in the light, thin tan head
S: Smells of whiskey leather alcohol some roastiness, not a ton
T: Smooth medium roast alcohol burn is mild smoky but pleasant
M: Motor oil thick syrup with a slight hoppiness to it, nice medium high carbonation
O: An enjoyable beer, drinks pretty good for 10.8%, you can definitely taste the alcohol, but it is smooth smoky and warming not offensive. Not very stout, I can see why some people here think it drinks like a porter but maybe its just splitting hairs, its toasty drinkable and smooth compared to a lot of IS but some elements of a stout, would like to try the BA version

A - Pours with a small head of light tan foam on top of a black body. The head fades quickly and leaves light lace.

S - Chocolate. Raisin, licorice, clove, and some cinnamon.

T - Molasses, dark chocolate, and raisins up front. Sweet coffee in the finish with some red fruit and molasses that lingers in the palate.

M - A sweet, thick body, moderately low carbonation, and a sweet finish.

D - Not bad, the aroma is quite nice, but the flavor profile is far too sweet and borders on cloying. Drinkable, but more of an imperial porter based on the level of roast.

No head really on a near jet black body. Aroma of licorice, cherry, dark chocolate and vanilla. Flavors include very mild roasted malts, dark malt, hint of coffee bitterness, some vanilla up front. The flavor is very good but standard in a way. Not too strong with the roasted malts understated. Still has stout presence but almost like a stout porter hybrid. Medium body and light to moderate carbonation.

Poured from tap into new holland high gravity glass at luckys in Dayton. Nice deep brown black pour with slight tan head. Sticky lacing...
Great roasted malt and chocolate boozey woody aroma.
Taste is dark candied fruit and chocolate roasted malts with some vanilla and booze...seriously tastes barrel aged. A bit ot alcohol burn but overall smooth and pleasant.
This is a great imperial stout...way more than worth it. Definitely get one of these.

Growler fill from TCT (Greenville). Pours brown/black with a decent head.
Aroma of dark roasted malt with hints of rum, dark chocolate and weak coffee. There’s some chocolate and coffee in the flavor too, but a much more substantial load of dark roasted malts, particularly towards the finish. A bit boozy and a touch of burnt grain, but both are more welcome than objectionable. Rather sweet up front; a quality appreciated in the finely-balanced, mildly bitter finish and aftertaste.
O: A well crafted, mainstream imperial stout.
