Poured into a hefeweizen glass.
Appearance. Cloudy brown tinted yellow in color. Pours with 3 fingers of frothy white head, which dissipates to a finger rather quickly leaving no lacing. Large chunks of yeast settle to the bottom of the glass after being swirled in the bottle and poured into the glass. Tons of carbonation visible rising off the bottom of the glass.
Smell. Some of the usual fruity esters are there. This is kind of ruined by a tart funkiness or that is overpowering when first poured, but fades as the beer starts to breathe.
Taste. Starts of with a bready, slightly stale and thin flavor. This is cut by the twang of citrus that is joined in a strange way by an earthy yeast presence. Some clove comes in along with a sort of stale crouton-like breadiness. The finish is surprisingly dry with a clean lingering bready malt presence.
Mouthfeel. Quite thin in body with a large amount of carbonation. Also, a surprising dryness about ¾ of the way through.
Relatively low fruity esters in this one. The thinness of the mouthfeel really does not do it for me. Its most redeeming quality is the citrus and earthy notes.

Served from a 500ml can to a German boot style glass
A: Cloudy orange/yellowish color. Head retained quiet well and left some enticing looking lacing up the sides of the glass.
S: Banana and some coriander and clove like phenolics.
T: Nice balance of the flavors that were present in the smell. Very "bright" tasting .The highlight being on the banana flavors. Hop presence is low and really there is no noticeable bitterness. Its fairly mild and nothing is too overpowering. Just a nice equal balance of yeast and wheat qualities.
M: Nice and crisp. Remarkably smooth and easy drinking.
O: This was a pretty good beer in my opinion and was my introduction to Hefewiezens. I have to say it was enticing and made me want to try some more. Even though I think it would make a nice summer beer I drank it in the midst of winter. Made a good change up to my recent stout line up. I could see it pairing well with fish like sole and halibut. Any pale white fish. Tasty beer.

Poured out of a bottle to a very standard hefe opaquely yellow. Head disappeared quickly on mine.
Smells very nice. Rich. Warm. Banana. Thick.
The taste is so smooth and very mellow. The flavor is actually quite subtle and not very present. Lingering aftertaste is almost non existent. Doesn't match the scent.
Mouth feel is distinctly flat for me.
Man I thought by the smell this would be amazing. A very average session hefe.

Color towards brown, a little unusual for wheat beers styles.
Flavour is initially hit by banana, bread and yeast, then it follows by citric notes, and cloves for last.
Light body and tiny bubbles.
A little more sweet than others wheat beet styles.

16.9oz format. Does a weizen glass good.
Some big chunky sediment fell after swirling in the yeast. Muddy sunrise yellow with floaties. Spritzy head is sizzling away. Pretty much the expected look. 3.5
First whiff and I came back with toasted sourdough bread. Nosing it again, I get some lemon wedge, light clove spice, and just the smidgen of unripe banana. 3.5
Rich clove-y yeast esters with some unripe berry, herbal/botanical hops, and very mild banana. Lemon, tart strawberries, juniper berry, and waffle batter. Attenuated. Toasty wheat. Lots of clove. Has a nice citric acid component. 3.5
Refreshing aftertaste. Lighter body and doesn't come up short on the CO2. 3.5
Nice to try. Not as complex as many of the Germans that I have tried. Worthy. 3.5

1 pt 9 oz bottle poured into 16 oz weizen
A: Light, burnt orange with off-white head
S: Wheat and clover
T: First a bitter bite, then a sickly sweet finish
M: Watery!
Overall, this beer didn't pass muster!! I love wheat beers, but I'll never buy this again.

500ml bottle poured into weizen glass
a: pours a pale cloudy orange with a 3 finger head, bubbly, dissipates slowly.
s: a lot of wheatiness, clove spices, some banana but not too heavily
t: wheats, light spices of clove, some banana, a touch of a wateriness at the finish. nice carbonation level, but it lacks some body and complexity of better wheat beers.
o: a solid weissbier, but there are certainly better examples available. a good introduction to a weissbier though, in my opinion.
