Coolest place in the new shopping center. I'd say the quality of their beers was good, but I think they lack a middle ABV range of beers. Berlinerweiss was awesome, 3% or so, then they had an almost 8% saison. Not many 5-6%ers. ABV aside, the quality of all of them was great. Prices were reasonable and the establishment seemed a little upscale for dinner, however, for drinks, I came to the right place.

i have been wanting to come here for awhile now, ever since i was blown away by their beers quite randomly at gabf several years back, and my travels finally brought me out this way and i made it happen! their space is cool, tucked back in a very cultured looking part of town, with a winery taproom, coffee roaster, and a lot of artisan shops on the block. they have a cool space, cavernous yet comfortable on the inside but not particularly interesting. they have a kitchen thats open there on the side, a separate business that requires a separate tab to order from, but who made some incredible tacos. high quality mexi-cali stuff with killer salsa, exactly what i want to eat with beers in this part of the world. the bar area is great because there is full view of the brew house in behind it, and they have quite the selection of beers on tap, from ipa types to dark lagers and wild beer, it was very well rounded and everything we had in here was great. i loved the grapefruit spelt saison, but also enjoyed a coffee lager and a wet hopped sour beer. impressive to see such range. bartender was conversational and helpful but short of amazing, but our glasses stayed full. the cool part of this place is how ambitious the beers are and how good the sour stuff is. they also had some cool bottles to go at fair prices. ive been to quite a few little taprooms and breweries around norcal now, and this is some of the best beer anywhere up there. definitely make it a point to get to this one when you are out there, we had a fantastic time, and ill look forward to my next visit! fantastic beers, and thats what its all about.

Excellent food; not pub grub or traditional beer food, but truly solid cooking. For example, I had a sous vide chicken breast with spaetzle and chanterelles. The beer selection is pretty broad - mostly farmhouse beers and lagers, not a hoppy beer in sight other than those on the guest taps - and a bit inconsistent. At the peak, they are excellent. The farmhouse sour was great; the pinot barrel aged dark ale very wine forward and rich. The saison is solid. At the low end, some beers are slightly messy. The lagers show promise but could use fine tuning, for example.

The geography of this area is baffling. We hit Santa Rosa, and go west down a dusty road, passing barns, fields, and even a pile of tires. But then you break into a small town setting - Sebastopol - and take a right and suddenly you're in this gleaming complex of brand new stores, each and everyone catering to something artistic, artisanal or just plain tasty. Across from the bronze sculpting work area is a rare book store dealer, and adjacent to that is Woodfour. It's a large, open, airy and beautifully decorated spot, with a wall of beers representing different styles. Each hangs from a metal noose, unconsumed and unenjoyed. There's even a Westy over on the wall on the far end, unassuming but still gorgeous. There weren't too many people around, so we casually worked our way through a full flight of tasters and had a good conversation with the beertender and a few other employees. And it was here where we felt welcome enough to just wait out rush hour traffic, and settle into a full pint at the end of our flight adventure. Maybe Sebastopol is a well known cultural hub, an oasis for exiles from San Francisco's rapidly rising rents, but whatever it is, it surprised us with all kinds of pleasantries, not least of which was really terrific beer in an engaging environment.

Was excited to try a new Sonoma County brewery. This is a very clean establishment with a modern / hipster feel. Tried a few beers all low abv and there were no stouts or ipas on tap. The menu was not guy friendly and was confirmed by the fact me and my buddy were the only two guys in the establishment. My wife did enjoy the pickled vegetables. Best thing was our beer server she was very nice and good sense of humor.

Very nice newish place in Sebastopol and highly recommended as a stop before or after a visit to Russian River Brewing as it is 15 minutes or so away. Nice selection of very session able beers with 4-5 tart or funky styles on tap. Monday is a great value with $3 drafts and a 5 taster glass set for $5.
Service was fantastic and friendly. Highly recommended

Wow! This place is Awesome! The beer is outstanding and styles appeal to a broad range of tastes.
I expected to have the regular pub food munchies when I first visited and was surprised to find a very different menu. I had some incredible starters, like deviled eggs and peppers and soon realized that this place was serious about food. I can't believe the price point on their amazing dishes! Starters are around $6, next up are $10, then $12-$15. The next time I went, I had the out of this world roasted beet salad! The chef sprinkles sweet pumpernickel crumbs and goat cheese on top of the huge portion of chunky, red beets! I visit about every other week and each time I go, the brewer, Seth Wood has another surprise Woodfour beer on tap. So far, the "Imperial Black Stout" (9% ABV) and the German rye style "Roggenbier" (6.1% ABV) are my favorites.

We took my in-laws there last weekend for dining and tasting and we could hardly believe our senses! We ordered the dishes to share so we could taste as much as possible! The only food I've had at this caliber are at super expensive gourmet restaurants. Unlike those where you typically get very small portions and everything is so rich, creamy and very "French", these are generous portions and leaves you feeling refreshed with even enough room for dessert (or a few more pints!) Overall, the food, brew and personal service made us feel welcome and truly satisfied! Make sure to visit Woodfour!
