A- This beer pours a deep straw yellow with a thin snow white head that last a good bit and a gentle carbonation supporting a sticky head.

S- The nice Noble hop aroma has a slight jolly rancher quality about it and is well lagered.

T- The nice green jolly rancher hop flavor takes on a more woody hop flavor as it grows and a light cider sweetness blends with a club soda taste in the finish. There is a hint of field corn and faint Noble hops that linger just a bit.

M- This beer has a medium-light mouthfeel and a gentle fizz compliments the hops in the finish.

O- This beer has a great summer sessionable beer that has lots of nice soft flavors that support the lagered Noble hops flavor that is dominant.

12oz twist-off bottle, unknown date. Served at around 40F.

Pours clear pale yellow with a one finger white head that recedes to a light cap and leaves just a few spots of lacing behind.

Aroma is lemon, grain, light bread/cracker malt, hint of vanilla, reminiscent of a light lager or pils. Simple. Good strength.

Flavor is lemon, vanilla, light bread/cracker malt, moderately sweet, light bitterness on the finish, little to no alcohol.

Mouthfeel is light bodied, yet somewhat sticky, good to sharp carbonation.

Easy drinking beer that maintains some flavor. Would go down nicely on a hot summer day after doing some yardwork.

Clear, pale yellow, pilsner like hue and clarity. Very tiny and slow bubbling. Two finger head that reduces to a half moon of thin foam.

Very light creamy aroma with faint unmalted barley and faintly toasted malt. Bland overall.

Very faint toastiness from the malt also get flavors of unmalted barley and some lactose. There's some adjuncty tasting bitterness on the finish. The palate is smooth but watery. This beer is easy to drink and uncomplicated.

Tail or no, I could never get my kites to fly all that long. Man, I had a kinda sad childhood... Anyway, this stuff pours a clear pale straw topped by a finger of lightly off-white foam. The nose comprises cracked wheat, sweet oats (not unlike a sweetened version of Cheerios or some other cereal), and a hint of grass. The taste basically brings in more of the same, along with a vague fruitiness that detracts from the sweet, grainy notes that have been forced into the background. The body is a hefty light, with a light moderate carbonation and a fairly drying finish. Overall, a generally solid beer, but one whose surprise and oddball fruitiness keeps it from achieving anything close to greatness.

Presentation: 12oz brown screw cap; nice simple label, no date; 2012 vintage...thanks to Sam B. for this!

Appearance: Pours a bright, rich golden hue, with bright clarity and a nice white cap which fades to a thick, lasting film.

Smell: Nice, pale grain background (but w/a little extra richness), as well as vibrant fruity esters (stone fruit, and especially light peachy notes). Simple, refreshing, and nice for summer.

Taste: Really light, crisp, clean grain notes and (surprising) peachy esters...there's no fruit in this beer, but the yeast has done some really nice work here in terms of bright, vibrant ester notes. It's kind of a two-dimensional beer (fruit and light malt) but it's refreshing, clean, and quite pleasant.

Mouthfeel: Light-medium

Conclusion: Not at all a style I reach for often, but in terms of the cream ales that I've had, this is very near the top; well-done, O'Fallon!

For $8-ish a sixer, this is deft. something I'd pick up once or twice a summer...would go great hanging out by the pool, or with some zesty KC style BBQ

Poured this cream Ale from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Poured a clear straw color,produced a average white head, average retention and left no lacing on the glass. The aroma consisted of cereal grains and sweet fruit. Light in body, this cream ale had a base of grains, some caramel, fresh fruit, and earthy hops. Smooth mouthfeel, nice summer beer- flavorful example of the style.

Appearance: moderate carbonation, 1/4 inch head, gold in color, clear

Smell: grain, grass, and light wood

Taste: grain, grass, and honey

Mouthfeel: slightly sweet, medium carbonation, light body

Overall: I have only had about ten cream ales, but this one is near the tail end of them that I would choose. It is an ok beer beer for a hot day, but it is missing some of the flavor and body that others in this style have. Not a bad beer, but there are several others in this style I would go to first.

Pours a clear, straw color. 1/4 inch head of a white color. Good retention and good lacing. Smells of strong pale malt, hint of hop, hint of cream, and a hint of sweet malt. Fits the style of a Cream Ale. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of cream, pale malt, hint of rice?, and a hint of hop. Overall, weak body and the aroma is lacking.

Bought a Mix-A-Six Pack from MacDoodles in Joplin, MO for $9.85 and added a 12 FL. OZ. (355 ML) bottle of this to it. Poured from the White/Red labeled bottle with a kite on the front into a Shaker Glass. Has no freshness date on the bottle.

Aroma- Fruity, peaches, huge malts.

Appearance- Pours a 1 finger, dies. Has a crystal clear body. Good lacing.

Flavor- Very sweet and tons of fruit (peaches), and has a malty bod. Easy overall.

Mouthfeel- Light Bodied, High Carbonation, Sweet, Fruity, and malt finish.

Overall Impression- Very refreshing, sweet, and has a ton of fruits that I can’t put a finger on. A light one for this summer but seems to be a hot item in St. Louis!

Poured from bottle to an imperial pint. Bottled 4/24/2012.

A: Clear, watery lemon yellow. Excellent, thick, stark white, foamy head.

S: Mild malts, grassy adjuncts, and a hint of hops.

T: Light, clean malt dominates and gives way to wheat, grassy hops, and a slightly tart finish. Reminiscent of an adjunct without any metallic or corny adjunct flavors.

M: Crisp and creamy at the same time. Somewhat watery up front with a creamy malt backbone and a slight pucker at the finish.

O: I'm no cream ale expert, but this seems to be a very representative entry for the style. Just a little watery, but you get all the drinkability of a BMC without the awful flavor. A great summer 'lawnmower' beer.

A - Poured out a clear, pale, straw-yellow color with a one-finger, white head of bubbly foam. It left little to no lacing.

S - It smelled of sweet caramel and floral notes.

T - It tasted of sweet toasty caramel. There was a little spiciness and subtle bitter hop bite.

M - It was crisp, sharp and smooth. A light to medium bodied ale with a dry finish.

O - This is a nice cream ale. It is better than most cream ales that I've tried.

A: Pours a clear pale golden color with a small head that fades quickly to no real lacing.

S: Mild aroma of malt sweetness with a trace of citrus and fruity sweetness.

T: Taste of malt sweetness, some citrus and bit of apple. Mild bitterness and a clean finish.

F: Very light body, crisp and refreshing. Comes across as fairly bland.

O: Nice inoffensive summer ale that goes down easy. Goes best with BBQ.

Kite Tail pours a very, very pale gold color with noticeable carbonation. Very thin looking. Very white two finger head dissipates quickly. Looks like any adjunct lager or cream ale.

Aroma is light with a very pale malt smell cut short by a very sweet scent. A slight tang of fruit follows. The scent of sugar is the most noticeable thing here.

Very simple, straightforward cereal taste up front. Malt is the dominant force but as the beer crosses the tongue there's a sweetness carrying barely noticeable bitterness. Very light and drinkable. Perfect for summer.

Kite Tail is extremely light in the mouth and very strong carbonation carries the light taste well. IT's quick and refreshing and another perfect summer character in the beer.

Overall a great addition to the O'Fallon lineup. I'm not as passionate about this as I am their Hemp Hop Rye or their Black Hemp beers. Still, an easy drinking summer beer that's cheap on the wallet is hard to pass up.

O'Fallon Brewery : Kite Tail Summer Ale

LOOK: Appearing so pale it is almost white, with a small proportion of wheat malt. Soapy head forms and leaves a little lace.

SMELL: Aroma of wheat, lemony citrus, pine and fairly hoppy at that.

TASTE: Solid flavor with some light wheat malts, cream, herbal hops and resinous pine. Surprisingly hoppy and refreshing, and light is the key word. Pretty nice, this is a unique and successful twist on the cream ale style.

FEEL: Light bodied, spot on carbonation, clean finish.

OVERALL: A nice new addition to the O'fallon lineup, this summer ale would be perfect at any time, though especially during the warmer months. Would pair nicely with a garlic y shrimp scampi.
