I got this as part of an M&M 6pk at Everett’s in South Beloit, IL for $9.99 in Early 2012.

Pours a cloudy amber color with a slight off-white head. Scent is slightly hoppy mixed with citrus fruits, bready tones. Taste has a toasted malt flavor to it that that is semi-hoppy. Could use a little more texture to it as this is a rather easy drinking beer. Smooth and crisp finish that is overall quite refreshing. Kind of a unique taste for an IPA.

For a session IPA my expectations have been met.

A thick golden-amber color with a light white, yellowish head.

The smell here was not what I expected of an IPA. I take the less than stronger hop scent as a direct correlation to this being a session IPA.

The extra dry hops added definitely brings in a stronger hop flavor, with out the big hit from the a.b.v. content. "?Do not judge this book by the first smell?".

On the tongue 5day is crispy and refreshing, and a bit underwhelming but I think thats what its going for.

Overall, if you're going out for an all day drinking session pick up this IPA. If your looking for a more mature complex beer their are better and hoppier IPA's out their for you to choose from.
