Blue waxed bomber, about a year old. Very nice blend of flavors: caramel, booze, wood, subdued Bourbon. Really liking how well these SPB barrel aged brews are aging.

poured 22oz bottle into snifter. Very cloudy and orange/rust colored with almost no head; lacing is non existent. It appears all the barrel aging too a toll on the carbonation. The aroma is very pleasant with a classic american barleywine aroma, faint vanilla and bourbon. It has a nice smell of figs, raisins and other dark fruit. The taste is a big winner for me and you can tell this was a nice base barleywine and had a nice hoppiness to go along with the sweeter malts. Very similar to the nose and incredibly flavorful with the added rye barrel aging. The feel suffers a bit only because carbonation is lacking, It still has a medium feel and is rich. I truly enjoyed this beer that was an extra in a trade.
