Went to the LCBO with the Mrs. She likes to grab random beers and have me try them. This is this weeks.

16oz can into Imperial Pint.

A- Almost totally translucent pale, pale straw yellow pour with a finger width of soapy snow white head that sheets the side of the glass like it was glue.

S- Light malts, grassy and floral. Very light and refreshing smelling. There is a bit of grape skin and pear.

T- Right off the bat I get a unsalted cracker taste. There is a subtle grass and grain. Grape skins and pear translate a bit in the taste. Quite refreshing.

M- Light bodied, decent carbonation. Minimal aftertaste.

O- This is probably one of the better EPL I've ever had. Crisp, light, refreshing and overall very good.

Pours a slightly cloudy, bright straw yellow colour, topped with a finger of creamy and fairly resilient pearl-white head. It dies down over a period of minutes, leaving lots of lacing on the sides. The aroma is very subdued but generally pleasant; pale malts and slightly floral notes tell me to expect a crisp, if unadventurous, lager.

Pale, grainy malts impart slight sweetness to the flavour, while floral hops provide some bitterness in the finish. A bit of lemon zest and some vegetal notes, but mostly it's quite clean-tasting and pretty mild. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation for the style.

Boring, but perfectly drinkable. Slightly better than the average EPL, but not really worth seeking out unless you really like the style. Doubt I will get it again.

A - pours a one finger head with good retention and sticky lacing that coats the side of the glass all the way down - a light yellow tea colour - very murky

S - stale biscuit malt - pear and light fruit - bread - grassy hops

T - malt up front with a tart light fruit tang - pears and apples - pepper aftertaste - dry - somewhat bitter

M - light medium body - some carbonation - dry and tart

O - I expected nothing and was pleasantly surprised by this drinkabled brew - although this will not be a go to brew I am sure I will grab it again some time

Pours a clear straw-yellow colour with nice thick head. Some lacing around the glass. Smells of grassy hops with a lot of grainy malt. Flavour has a pleasant faint bitterness. Nice carbonation too. This is quite a nice Euro lager. I expected this to be pretty bad actually, but it is very nice. I'd be willing to get this again.

500ml can poured into a pint glass

Appearance - the beer pours pale golden color with a huge foamy and creamy white head. I can see lots of carbonation, possibly more than I've ever seen in a beer before. The beer has some excellent lacing and the head lasted for a while.

Smell - The beer a nice clean fresh smell, also some barley and corn syrup and a bready yeast.

Taste & Mouth - You don't feel the carbonation as much as you'd think based on the appearance. It comes through as only average. The beer has an apple juice like taste mixed with corn syrup and light hops on the finish. It's a nice light tasting beer, good for warmer weather.

Drink - A beer that I would classify as slightly above average. I'd drink it again, but wouldn't seek it out.

Perhaps with 'organic' in the name, the brewers didn't feel the need to totally filter this thing out of all its colour and content? I rather like that this has a healthy haze to it - not only does it suit the beer's lemony tone but it certainly makes it look that much more natural and unadulterated. Too bad the head from the pour drifted off somewhere.

Euro pale lagers normally smell like corn or other equally off-putting adjuncts; without them in the picture, it turns out Euro pale lagers don't really smell like much of anything. This aroma is among the most neutral I've smelled, releasing hardly a faint scent of grain, but what delicate, low-pitched murmurs get through are vaguely floral, and pleasant.

The taste, if nothing else, is certainly agreeable. Like its bouquet, it is significantly subdued with fine-grained flavours that are largely inaudible. Still, that delicately malty body and its fine floral tracing make for - not much more flavour, but - a much cleaner, more palatable taste than is customarily found from this brewery and this style of beer in general.

For the first time possibly ever, a canned mass-produced European lager can be said to actually be relatively hoppy. Earthy, very floral and lightly lemony Noble hops come to comprise most all of the beer's aftertaste. The bitterness they impart is slender but quite self-assured. This drinks in an entirely different class than most all industrial lagers.

The beer vaguely resembles some English pale ales in its mild flavour, graceful manner and free and easy drinkability. This (as oppose to this brewery's other offerings) is the kind of beer I expect to come out of France, a country with not only a refined, highly demanding palate but also a very conscious mind for all matters social and cultural.

The organic cousin to standard Boris. Just as dull, just organic. Nice head to start, settles to a ring. Clear pale yellow. Beer looks totally dead in the glass though. Zero carbonation.

Sweet nose, grassy hops. Slightly spritzy to drink despite its lifeless look. Slightly heavy mouthfeel. Pretty much tasteless. A hint of citrus zest.

Not offensive, but nothing special. Meh.

Brilliant gold with two fingers of pretty well-retained white head. The head leaves sheets of lace cascading down the walls of my glass. The aroma is of sweet pale malt with whispered hints of grass and flowery perfume. It tastes of bready pale malt and lemon with a hint of boiled corn. It has a noticeable residual sweetness, but finishes dry. Very mild bitterness. Very mild everything really - very bland. Light bodied with sharp carbonation, I'd imagine it thirst quenching on a hot day. Thin, watery mouthfeel. A thirst quenching and fairly inoffensive lawnmower beer.

My wife is not a beer drinker but sometimes she will accompany me to the LCBO while I shop. Yesterday, she stated her desire to pick something for herself and she spotted the 'organic' designation on the can of Boris.

Well, I wasn't expecting much. So I was surprised when we got home and poured out a couple of glasses that evening. The beer is not crystal-clear and appears a tiny bit cloudy. The head was sticky and lasted longer than normal. The taste was not unlike a general-type lager of this sort and the body had a slightly creamy mouthfeel.

Overall, I liked it and, since this was my first Boris Organic, would try it again to make certain that my initial appraisal was accurate.

My wife didn't care for it. But then again, she isn't normally a beer drinker.

500 ml can from the LCBO- Pours a deep yellow with a thin white cap. Leaves a bit of lace. Nose is quite grainy and grassy, with a bit of lemon and bread. Tastes sweet and grainy, of mild fruit, grassy hops. Pretty well balanced, and better than expected.

Well this beer is nothing exciting but you sure can drink a lot of these on a warm day. Kudos for going organic - for that I'll give them an extra half point for drinkability.

Slightly hazy which is unusual for a lager. The colour is straw yellow and there wasn't much of a head and no lacing.

The smell is relatively clean but slightly corny as is the taste. There's also something a little vegetal in the background that seems to be common in these organic lagers. Slightly sweet and no bitterness in the finish. Aftertaste isn't bad.

The mouthfeel is watery refreshing and has decent carbonation.

500 ml can from the LCBO.

Pours a clear yellowish gold, almost straw coloured, big and thick bone white head forms, slowly settles down to a pretty thick ring around the glass, lots of lacing sticks. Smell is quite sweet and sugary, some honey, floral, light grassiness, kind of watery, almost a fruit juice/pineapple sort of aroma. Taste is similarily not very good, very light and grainy, grass, light fruit, some floral, hay, corn, kind of lemony and grainy tartness, sweet and corn syrupy. Mouthfeel is light bodied with low to medium carbonation. Not awful but not very good.

500ml can poured into a pint glass.

A - Poured a clear pale yellow with a 1" head that did not last long. Good lacing.

S - Mild aroma of sweet corn and grains.

T - Tastes sweet with a bitter aftertaste. Good balance but a bit mild.

M - Crisp mouthfeel but pretty average for a lager.

D - It's easy to drink because it doesn't taste bad nor is it offensive. It's just a little mild in color & aroma with decent flavor.

Overall it's a pretty decent Lager.

Clear straw with a wispy head of foam. Light lemony nose. Moderately dry with some acid up front. Fairly husky flavour with a light lemon/citrus hop and moderate bitter finish. Tastes all organic and stuff. Sharp carbonation is a bit too much I think. Somewhat light body. Not bad, but way too fizzy. Clean, but not very interesting.

Pours a clear straw color with a patchy, long lasting head that leaves behind a curtain of lace on the glass. The smell is run of the mill bland innoffensive Euro Lager - some grain, residual malt sweetness, and a slight plasticy feel. The taste is much the same, with a subdued vegetal element in the background. Hops are lacking throughout. The finish is very watery and on the sweet side. The mouthfeel is briskly carbonated and very light bodied.

A pretty mediocre lager. Too bland in all departments.
