The beer pours a pale gold color with a thin white lace head. The aroma is decent. It has a clean pale malt scent with a bit of green bottle skunkiness. It has a sort of sweet aroma to it. The taste is decent. The two French beers I've tried are very much alike. They are very pale and quite sweet. They have a dry clean finish, but the mouthfeel is different from a regular pilsner. The mouthfeel is decent. It is a medium bodied beer with good carbonation. This is a good driking light beer. It has a bit of sweetness and a slight skunky aftertaste.

This is possibly the most commonly available French beer where I live. I kind of like the tiny 250mL bottles too!

This beer has a nice deep golden colour to it. It's slightly cloudy, with a thin creamy layer on top.

The aroma is fairly standard. Malty with a slight creaminess. There is also some faint alcohol smell.

The flavour is slightly watery. There is a little bit of creamy malt flavour too. Towards the end, it gets a bit strange. There is some hoppy bitterness, but it isn't right. It becomes sort of metallic tasting.

Overall, this is nothing special. Drinkable, but I wouldn't seek it out ever again.

Good packaging is what motivated my wife to pick up this intriguing-looking euro.

Pale appearance, unimpressive head and rice smell. Medium carbonation.

Taste is fairly bland, very macro-esque, lots of corn-grain vibe.

It's what my wife calls a "soda-pop" beer: It's fizzy, comes with alcohol and it's sweet and doesn't have a strong enough malted grain taste to offend the wine-cooler and party-drink crowd.

Keeps you drinking without thinking. Not impressed.

250ml bottle, quite reminiscent of Euro-Cokes, but un flacon? Je ne sais pas...

This beer pours a clear medium golden hue, with one finger of soapy off-white head, which flees in an instant, leaving some sparse cob-webbed lace around the glass. It smells of sweet cereal malt, grassy, weedy hops, and alcohol. The taste is biscuity, bready malt, and grassy hops, with a booze edge kind of underlying all. The carbonation is moderate, but also a wee bit sharp, the body medium weight, smooth enough, and warm. It finishes with a mild warming sweetness, nothing to surprise.

I could sense a huge Euro-skank wafting from the glass, initially, but it must have petered out. An adequate Continental lager, albeit a tad boozy.

Look: Pale golden in color, transparent and with a little bit of white foam crown that does not lace much.

Nose: grainy aroma

Taste: Grainy / rice-like notes predominate without any bitterness to finish.

Mouth: Thin or watery mouthfeel

Drink: The beer has a relatively favorful appeal, and is, therefore, easily drinkable (if un-skunked, that is). But it does not dazzle or possess the entirely subjective Wow!-factor, and thus, it can only excel so far.

500ml can looks great but beer in glass does not look good.

A- Darkish gold. Head dies down in a matter of seconds. Unappetizing patching and ring remain. Good number of bubbles rising.

S- Corn syrup. Lightest malt. Strong brewer's yeast.

T- Brewer's yeast all the way. Vitamin D pills. The brewer's yeast taste is definitely interesting yet borderline disgusting. I guess you could learn to appreciate it but I think the flavor should be finer or show more complexity to become interesting and ideally appreciated.

M- Ordinary macro mouthfeel tending toward watery. Seems viscous and dry at the same time which is strange and not particularly enjoyable.

D- Not high for me since I don't like the taste.Goes down kind of easy though.

Bad beer. Interesting because it's different though. I'd like to try a good beer with this ''brewer's yeast profile'' flavor if it exists.

Sample- 250 ml bottle- Very faint aromas here....not sure what they are. Herbs maybe? Taste is ok....mild hops, and I'm getting herbs here too. Maybe it is just me..haha. Light golden body that looks like a lot of other pilsners. Decent pils though....I like it. Thanks for this one Doug!

A: Pours a clear light yellow with a few fingers of white head.

S: Light apple, a little bit of malt.

T: Mild - light hops, light malts, pretty bland overall.

M: A little watery, medium carbonation.

D: Drinks easy enough, but not much there to keep you coming back for more.

From a 500mL can.

Pours a bright, clear, golden color with some fairly active carbonation that creates a thin wispy white ringed lace.

Slight esters in the nose with a base of cooked cereal grains and hints of buttery notes in the back; hello, you're not supposed to be here.

Mouthfeel is near medium, with a slight chewy water consistency. Lively and crisp carbonation on the palate. Mildly sweet with more cooked cereal grains, hint of berry-like esters, and dab of caramel. Powdery malts. Light herbal hop note; very light, and that's it for hops. Light metallic notes. Fairly clean finish, but there's something lingering that's kind of lackluster.

Nothing offensive here, but it's a bit bland and one-dimensional overall.

There's a listing for "Boris" and one for "Boris- Le Flacon D'Alsace", I figure it's the same thing so I'll just review it under the more popular name. Picked up a tallboy can at the LCBO, I thought the packaging was cool, didn't know it had such a bad rep on here. Alright, let's give it a shot.

Yellowy-amber appearance, with a small, fizzy white head that recedes to nothing quickly. Skunky smell with a rough, yeasty edge, nothing overwhelming.

The taste is watery, nothing spectacular, just yeasty and a bit bitter. Sort of that dull, skunky Heineken-y aftertaste. Bitter, earthy finish, weak hops. Thin mouthfeel, but still quaffable and inoffensive. Overall, tastes stale and uninspired.

It's still not bad, and I still drank it down without any complaints, but I definitely won't be paying for this again.

Pours yellow, big foamy head that sticks around, some lacing quite carbonated... a good looking lager.

Aroma of continental malt and a faint delicate aroma of fresh grassy hops. Flavor is a malt backbone being haunted with a bit to much dyacetyl and oxidation. Bitter finish is adequate but overall the beer seems a little sweet. After closer examination I realise the can is past its best before date by a few months.

Actally quite a respectable european example of a common lager, I'll bet it's quite good of a fresh tap in Alsace.

Poured a clear straw colour, 4 cm of head dissipates quite quickly. Little carbonation visible. Smells yeasty and grassy. Little jumps out in the taste; some generic grains/bread taste, with a bitterness that sits heavily on the back of the tongue. Slightly drying. Light body with slight carbonation.
The can is fairly striking, with the logo of a man running with a flag. An individualist slogan is printed overtop of the logo. Somewhat ironic given the bland nature of this beer. While never offensive, this beer is simply too middle of the road and boring for me to recommend, or try again.

Purchased bottle at Bishop's Cellar in Halifax.

Appearance: Pours a pale amber colour with a small bone white head, resides very quickly to almost nothing.

Aroma: Sweet, musty grains, a little bread and a little grassy.

Taste: Sweet, light struck, low bitterness. Not very nice.

Mouthfeel: Thin body, higher carbonation.

Final Statement: Not recommended.

Tiny bottle, poured into a fluted glass.

A couple centimeters of foam soon rise and fall. Clear amber yellow coloration. Stubborn yeast ring at the bottom. Spotty patterned lacing.

Very skunky smell, husky grain.

Taste is fairly bitter, with a watery mouthfeel. Toasted cracker. An apple aftertaste, the only redeeming quality...suggesting yeast was actually used in the process.

Picked this up for $1 on a whim at Dobbys in the burbs, based solely on the label design & price. Won't be buying again.
