Parking in the back is the best place, kind of an akward entrance into the building, than again it was raining hard and dark lol. Theres a sign outside that says to seat yourself and they will find you, which is cool. And another line that says "Community Seating" Basically a huge picnic table that you share with other people. Thats fine if your with a big group of people, but for small parties (2-3) I thought this was pretty lame/kind of akward if thats the only tables open. The only tables left were sharing with other people, so thats what we did.
Service was very very good. quick and timely food orders, and good beer service speed and accurate pours.
The beers we tried were the Screamin Pumpkin and the 3 stooges Winter. Both were very good! Excellent brews indeed. The pumpkin brew was very smooth, with hits of ginger, nutmeg and spice throughout. The winter was also a great one.. bright spice / honey flavor and chewy-ale like the whole way down...
Had a chicken sandwich and fries which were great, and also had some chili which was good too.
The menu itself is pretty small.. but does the job. Im sure they will expand the menu soon as they are a new place after all !
Will definitely be back. The beer quality alone is worth several repeat stops regardless of the seating!

Atmosphere: I really like the openness of this place. really centered around the patio. hops growing in various places. corn hole court. pretty relaxed and cool atmosphere
Quality: they have some decent beers. here. nothing is out of this world but they get it close for almost every style.
Selection: no where near the best brewery selection but they have a good variety and some tasty beers
Food: i had fish and chips which was good, but it always tastes about the same. they had some interesting and good items though
Overall: a surprisingly decent brewhouse in an area that is almost devoid of them (Kuhnhenn's and
Dragonmead being the exceptions, lots of trendy brewhouses in the area.) a good place to have a beer on occasion

Checked this place out with the girlfriend. Very nice place. Excellent atmosphere and great beer. I tried 11 different brews while I was there. They ranged from good to fucking amazing. You have got to try their Berliner! The chicken sandwich was delicious. The girlfriend just ordered a salad. There was a lot of people with kids there. I found this a bit odd. It's right across from a neighborhood. Great location that is easily accessible.

So, I want to start off by saying that I understand that they are just starting up and it is going to take awhile to get going.
Atmosphere - It is a very nice brewpub. We enjoyed sitting by the fire pit. The only complaint is that there was not a lot of seating when we were there. The taproom is a bit small.
Quality - I made it to the taproom a few weeks after they opened, so a lot of their initial stock seemed to be gone. I had the double IPA, which I thought was absolutely awful. Sampled some of their other beers (can't remember what it was, sorry) and they were average. Nothing to write home about.
Service - This made the overall experience bad. Our waitress was extremely nice, but she was never around. In the two hours we were there we saw two other parties come in, sit down, wait over half an hour without getting an order in, and leaving unhappy. To make it worse, we overheard the busboys bitch about how they were impatient.
Selection - Like I said, the main stuff I went to Griffin Claw for was long gone, but they did have a decent selection of brews (not too many different verities though).
Food - Extremely expensive and would rather have McDonald's. Chicken quesadilla was dry. Burger was bland. Fries are good though. Don't come here for the food.
Value - My 10 oz beer and burger came out to $25. The value is not even close to being there. Like I stated at the very beginning, they are still starting up and trying to figure things out, but right now it is very pricy and not good. I'd recommend just going to another local bar until they figure things out.
Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. I will go back to eventually, but not until they figure their shit out.

A surprise find. they've only been open for 3 weeks. I tasted the Tripel Lemon Shandy, the Berlinerweiss and the Cherry Bourbon Stout. Each was an excellent example of their style. The stout was exceptional and at 12% a great pleasure to end the day with. The rich cherry over tones made it an excellent dessert beer. The food menu is basic brewpub fare with a nice upscale twist. I had the Mac & Cheese. Nice cripy top.. 4 wonderful cheeses... Mom would be jealous. Come try it out.

Our first time visiting this place today.
A- I enjoyed the atmosphere. The indoor area had garage doors that could be open or closed based on the weather, and an outdoor area with heated lamps and a fire pit. It was a fall-like day in this MI summer so we sat inside, but one of the garage doors was open and it was pleasant.
Q- The beer and food were both high quality and I'd recommend both.
S- It was slow getting our drinks and food order, but after that, everything was fast and the waitress checked up on us often. It was during a busy dinner hour and the place is still very new, so I understand.
S- The beer selection was good, about 15 taps, but I did notice the lack of any stout/porter. That said, Untapped lists a stout from these guys so I'm guessing they had it at the beer fest this weekend but just not on site. I hope they get one on site soon. The food selection was average for a microbrew. Flights are available in 4s but each sample is priced individually, rather than a set price for a flight, so that was new to me. I didn't take the offer this time, though, because I wanted full beers.
F- Excellent. A bit more pricey than what I'd normally go for, but this is Birmingham. Average entree was $10 or $12, and my quesedilla was great. The fact that they use local MI ingredients is a plus. My bf got fish and chips and the fries that came with it were amazing.
Overall, I'd gladly come here again and my bf and I plan on it, but prepare to spend a bit of money if you want food AND beer. The beer prices on their own are about average for what I'm used to on tap.

Good to see the fine beer from Big Rock made more available. Great move by ownership and the brewer. So they had 15 on draft last night, can try 4 oz tasters. Tried 12 and the range was good to outstanding. Some of my favorites were the saison, the wheats (3), the sours (2) and the lager, also had norms ipa an old fave and pale ale. The food was excellent and the staff were really great. Sharp place great addition to SE mi beer scene. For my tastes one of the 2 best brewers in metro detroit.
