Got in a gift pack along with a bottle of McChouffe and a tulip glass, which I used for this review.
A: Hazy golden color with a slight orange tint and a lively white head.
S: Quite spicy and almost citric on the nose, with notes of lemon, orange, coriander, clove and a hint of lime. Pleasant breadiness and yeast character in the mix as well.
T: Nice and sweet with just a smidgen of bitterness. The spices are a bit muted in the flavor, but the malt bill is very nice. Great Belgian pale character!
M: Medium-bodied and quite lively carbonation, but not so much as to make it feel prickly or fuzzy. Nice and dry on the finish.
D: Goes down very easily for an 8% alcohol beer. Would make a great compliment to a nice steak or fish dinner.
A coworker of mine recommended this to me, and his enthusiasm is well-founded. This is a very nice Belgian pale. The flavors did not impress me much at first, but grew on me after a while. I would like to try this side-by-side with Troublette to taste any similarities, as I La Chouffe reminded me a bit of the 'ol snail. In short, get this if it's available in your area. Or trade for it!

Pours into my snifter a gorgeous golden color with a reddish hue. The pour retained a nice tight head with minimal lacing. The nose has a delicate spice with fresh-bread notes. Not quite clear, yet not cloudy. Very pretty.
I'm really diggin' this brew. Wonderful balance, clean finish. The high ABV was not evident. Refreshing...an all-season ale I could enjoy by the fire in December or on the deck in July. Once again, I will have to re-arrange my Top 5 to include La Chouffe.

A: Golden color. Good head retention and lacing.
S: Yeast, spice, and fruit.
T: Follows the nose. Peach and some pepper come through with a light malt backbone.
M: Light and nicely carbonated.
Overall: Great beer. The Smell is an enticing mix of fruit and yeast. It's very drinkable for 8%. A complex and enjoyable Belgian.
