Had from a 750ml bottle at Fire Works Leesburg

A - Rich bronze body with a fluffy white head that retains nicely and leaves great lacing after settling to a whispy cap

S - Spicy aroma of warming alcohol, light lemon zest, and pepper. Nicely fresh in the nose and very inviting

T&M - Moderately carbonated and crisp in the mouthfeel with a slight slickness from the alcohol makes this easy to drink. Great spicy flavor with anise and cardamom prevaling with white pepper in the finish. Slight warming alcohol but not at all boozy. Lightly sweet without being cloying and the spices keep this from being a "sweet beer" in my book.

O - A great sipper from cold to room temp. Will definitely have this again.

Pours into my snifter a gorgeous golden color with a reddish hue. The pour retained a nice tight head with minimal lacing. The nose has a delicate spice with fresh-bread notes. Not quite clear, yet not cloudy. Very pretty.

I'm really diggin' this brew. Wonderful balance, clean finish. The high ABV was not evident. Refreshing...an all-season ale I could enjoy by the fire in December or on the deck in July. Once again, I will have to re-arrange my Top 5 to include La Chouffe.

A: Golden color. Good head retention and lacing.

S: Yeast, spice, and fruit.

T: Follows the nose. Peach and some pepper come through with a light malt backbone.

M: Light and nicely carbonated.

Overall: Great beer. The Smell is an enticing mix of fruit and yeast. It's very drinkable for 8%. A complex and enjoyable Belgian.
