I've been a few times and its been pretty enjoyable each time.
My only problems are, the beer list seems to me to be the easiest beers from around the world to find, there's no real depth to the lists. Its not that the beers are bad or bad choices its they are the most common beers from said locations. Secondly the waitresses while friendly aren't all that knowledgeable about the beers on the list. I guess we get spoiled by the staff at places like the Flying Saucer here in Houston.
Even with these two small dings this is still probably the second best place to get a few good beers in Katy.

This Cinco Ranch shopping and dinning mecca is huge, and packed with people. It is wall to wall packed with every upscale chain restaurant you can imagine. At the very back of the complex is WoB. A long wood bar inside, with flat screens lining the wall all the way down. There are garage doors that open up, with tables, a game of bags, and a few little bar areas outside. Loud music blasting the entire time.
I find a seat at the bar, and the bartenders are slow on the draw to acknowledge me in any way. Once someone does make eye contact, I am handed a beer menu. As I open the book, the first 8 pages are filled with information about different styles from around the world. It is a great little synopsis, though after a while I just want the beer list. This should be at the back of the menu. Anyway...
50 taps, and they claim 500 bottles. The tap selection is the most mundane and boring list of 50 taps I have ever seen. A few beers from No Label, one or two taps from Southern Star. The rest is pretty much of the pseudo craft variety. I did see a St. Bernardus Abt 12, which is what I went with. Then I realized it was $10 for an 8 oz pour. WTF?
The bottle list is a little more extensive, and mostly overpriced as well. Lots of German and Belgian imports. Which is nice, but the clueless bartenders could never find the beers ordered, or how to ring up the order, let alone know what the hell these offerings were. It took two bartenders, and a manager to find a bottle of Saison Dupont, and nobody could figure out how to ring up the bottle, and put it on my tab. The tab, buy the way, was all wrong anyway. I think they mixed it up with a couple sitting next to me. You can also grab a mix six pack to go if you want, though with the incredibly inflated prices, and a better selection at Whole Food, why bother?
No food, but lots of options around, and they let you bring stuff in. The pizza place across the way seemed popular.
Almost as bad as Yardhouse. At least WoB has good enough sense to know that any attempt at a food menu is pointless. It would be as generic and bland as everything else here. I left wanting a lot more from this supposed beer bar. Like the Yardhouse, WoB is going to conquer yuppie suburbia in west Houston/Katy.
