Not only the only light beer I drink, but one of the few imported beers too. This beer is an excellent example of what a light beer should taste like. Very similar in taste to the standard Becks beer, but just slightly understated. In my opinion, the lighter, clean taste makes the beer much more drinkable. In a perfect world, this beer would replace Amstel Light as the standard high end light beer.

This is the world's easiest drinking beer. You can pound 10+ of these and not feel bloated or filled up. It ain't much in terms of looks or smell, but has a great crisp taste that isnt very complicated. Great beer for drinking at bars/clubs. Reccomended.

Had one of these to wash down some food. Was very surprised at the overall experience. The appearance was nothing to speak of. A tad bit lighter than Beck's with a little more Stella-like carbonation. The smell was surprisingly good and un-skunked. I give it to the European light beer makers; they keep the light versions of their beers un-skunked somehow. The taste? Along with Heineken light, one of the best light beers I've ever encountered. I'm amazed that its 65 calories too. Thats about four of these for one 16 oz bottle of Coca-Cola calorie wise, and thats damn impressive! The mouthfeel is thin as expected, but hey, what do you want when you're buying this beer? Reminds like a lot like a Stella for how this beer drinks. Goes well with uncomplicated snacking food. Doesn't have that machined taste like regular Beck's has. I'll say it again, props on the calories! Makes Michelob Ultra it's bitch while it's the dominatrix.

Okay, only reason I'm rating this as "good" is if you want to go ahead and drink light beer then it better do what it says on the label. 64 calories, folks. 64!!!! What do you expect!? Bud 55 is awful and MGD 64 is meh....Miller Lite clocks in at 96 cals and is probably your best bang for your light buck, but if you truly are counting cals then pop open a Becks Light. I've been on a health kick lately and still enjoy the real stuff, but if cutting cals from your diet while still being able to drink some beer, pick this over Bud Light, Coors Light, Amstel Light, Miller Light, Sam Light, Whatever Light.

This beer pours a very clear and light straw color with a white head. The head is attractive but it fizzles out to basically nothing. There was a little bit of lacing but not much.
The smell is a little bit (good)skunky, canibus-like...or um hoppy. Smells like an open field.
The taste is light and a little bit skunky as well. I like it. It's pretty refreshing.
The mouthfeel is good. It is a very light bodied beer with moderate carbonation. Not a bad drinking beer. Very drinkable.

Understand this. People its 65 Calories a bottle. THE lowest of beers in the USA. Please take that into consideration.
Appearance is average, straw like yellow, pale almost sickly yellow.
Smell - Reminds me of regular becks. Not any difference besides the smell may be a bit stronger in the original.
Taste - Is a blander form of skunk. Its easy and chillaxed on the pallate.
Mouthfeel - Is clean and light. Airy almost. Easy on the throat.
Drinkability - Takes the cake son. Easy smooth.
Flat out. ITs an easy drinking, clean light lager beer.
64 calories. And its a nice alternative to a really skunked up lager.
Refreshing. And I do enjoy it.
Ill buy this again. :P

This is a refreshing light beer.
It is crisp and has a nice finish. It is a light pilsner/lager so it had its expected color (pale yellow). It pours well, leaves a nice albeit short lived head.
Beck's Light is a nice example of a light lager. It is a very nice complement to regular Beck's.
The beer tastes good and one can consume a twelve pack to oneself on a nice sunny hot day, without feeling like you just ate the whole bread isle at the grocery store.
Not something that I would want to drink on a cold winter night, but it is an excellent summer, daytime beer. I buy this when it is on and I want drink something that tastes a hell of a lot better than bud/coors/miller light (or regular for that matter) but I don't want to drink something like Sam Adams Light (which has ~25% more calories)
Sam Adams is probably one of the very best tasting "light" beers, but one must remember that most light beers have about 100 calories and Sam's has about 125 and plain ol' Bud probably in the 145 range. So Sam's is a not so light, light beer.
Memo to folks who don't like light beer:
If you don't like light beer, don't drink it, and don't review it.
I read other light beer reviews and most of the negative reviews are from people who clearly don't like light beer.

Poured from a green 12 oz. bottle. Has a pale yellow color with a small head. Smell is a bit on the skunky side. Taste is crisp, a touch of malts and hops, slightly sweet. Feels light in the mouth and has good drinkability. Overall not bad as far as light beers go.

Hmmm....Beck's Light. What good can be said about it? Well, it's only 64 calories and therefore not filling. And goes down just about as easy as water, so you can drink a ton all night. However, the pale yellow appearance with fizzy, thin white head is very underwhelming. The taste has just SLIGHTLY more character than a Coors Light. That probably best sums up this beer.

Best before 04.01 it reads...does that mean April 2001?? Man...no wonder it was 50-cents a bottle...doesn't taste skunked...light straw color...mild graininess on the nose..taste is very light but there is some OK graininess emerging...body is thin, but not obscene..Compared to some of the other lights this is OK...I'm not a big fan of Beck's and would never buy this again...It is much worse than S.A Light but ok when compared to Coors Light etc...

12 ounce bottle from a local liquor store
Poured into a pint glass with a golden color and a small head that tamed very quickly
Smell was pretty weak with some oat and barley, but that is about it
Taste was smooth, but not much to it
Could drink a lot of these because they are not filling at all and go down easy

The beer pours an almost clear color with a slight yellow hue. It has a thin white head that quickly fades to spotty lacing. The aroma is decent. It has a clean, crisp pale malt scent with some adjuncts. It's light and has that green bottle aroma. The taste is less than average. It has an almost tasteless flavor. It's like flavored water. There is little malt or hops present; very light. The mouthfeel is average. This is typical for a light lager. They're low bodied with good carbonation. This is an easy drinker, but it's not an enjoyable beer.

Here's the best part of this beer . . . I think I lost weight frinking it. At 64 calores and very few carbs, it's a nice alternative to Slim Fast. Other than that, I'd rather drink a Miller Lite. Easy to finish but did not make you want to drink another.

Becks Light is not a very good off shoot of Becks regular...the beer pours golden clear with decent head and corbonation to start, both which fade rapidly. The smell is grain/barley and pilsner hops. The taste is sharp, pilsner hops strike first, then a slight balance of malt, the aftertaste is bitter. The mouthfeel is lacking because of the very light body, which is good if it is a hot afternoon. Overall it is a better than bud light...average beer.

Pours a very light color. It has a nice snow-white colored head, but the beer seems to look even more watered-down than an average american beer. It has that skunky scent to it, really does smell like a german pilsener. However, the taste is not skunky or bitter at all like I had expected. It does taste very watered down, but I'm trying this beer immediatly after a normal Beck's, which might impair my judgment a little. I suppose not having that intense skunk flavor is a good thing. It doesnt taste bad, but it hardly tastes like much at all. Overall, not a bad beer, but just too watery for my liking. I suppose its better than Miller light or Old Milwaukee, but not quite worth the extra penny.

The reason the ABV is ? is because there is no alcohol in this beer. Think of it as an NA and you'll be happy you're saving calories. You can put away a couple of these and have no more of a buzz than drinking a couple NA's. Since you're drinking NA anyway, you might as well drink this since you get some beer taste with fewer calories, although Haake Beck NA is a better drink, has both more malt and hops than Becks Light. Funny, huh?
Scored some 6's for 3.99 and that's why I bought it. A good drink when you want the beer taste without the alcohol.

Pretty good for a lighter beer. It reminds me a lot of a lower quality heineken. I think it is a little too heavily carbonated, and seems a little like an alcoholic sprite. The carbonation definitely overrides any truly distinctive flavor in the beer

12 oz poured into pint glass.
A: Pale yellow, almost white.... about 1 fingers worth of head and holds on for a little while... not bad, little lighter than I like.
S: Wish it smelled better than it looks... Astringent grain in the aroma, a light hops.... Nothing special.
T: I'm getting a light malt flavor followed by an astringent grain flavor and a light touch of hops.... The finish is a little dry and there is little to no aftertaste. Neither great of bad... but better than more light beers I've had.
M: Light and waterlike... not much more to say.
D: Hey it is a light beer.... 64 calories... You could drink a s**t load of these and be OK...
Hey if you are looking for a light beer and I mean light (64 Calories) this one is not bad. Now MGD 64 is bad... This is 64 calorie good.

Green = Skunky. Damn, this could be a half decent light beer, were it not produced in green. When will they learn? Straw colored with a nice foamy white rapidly dissipating head. A thin spider web lace trails along. The skunk-like aroma hides a fragrant malt and floral hop. The thin herbal malt is completely dominated by sharp metallic and underlying citrus bitterness. Still one of the better light beers around. Might even give Sam Adam's Light a run for their money...in dark brown bottles.

12ozer bottle purchased in a two pack with a bottle of Beck's at Austin Liquors, Shrewsbury, MA. Some sort of special promo packaging, only $0.99 for the pair!
Poured into an imperial pint glass, formed a fluffy 2" white head above the clear, light p*ss-yellow brew. Head fades as fast as it can, but does settle down to about 1/4" of bubbles, and lacing is okay. Aroma is that usual "seems skunky" scent that Beck's and Heineken seem to have, although perhaps even more so. Taste is almost non-existant, seeming more like slightly smoothed water, with a small bitter kick at the end. I know it's a light beer, but come on. Mouthfeel is okay, if this is what you're looking for, but I expected beer characteristics. Drinkability is high, but then again so is water's. This is me, keeping away from light beers...

Im not really overly impressed about this beer in any way, but as a Beck's fan from way back (i was weaned on the stuff by my older bro), I will say this does taste the way a Beck's light should taste if I had to imagine it. The color is that of a cheap pinot grigio, though there is a decent head on this thing, and a modest stick as well as lace. Aroma is all beck's skunk! Need i say more? The mouthfeel is just a step above water, with a mildly crisp snap of refreshment. Flavors are typical Beck's skunk-o-rama, sweet malty, grainy and a tad cloying, but mildly quenching. This stuff goes well with frozen pizza-i tried one with a pie that i stipped off all the crappy topping and added my own (delicious?) Broccoli and returned the cheese-a light delight. Though sick to say, this stuff is mildly drinkable in my book.

This review is based on several bottled samples, and the reason for that is because it was on special, $13 for a 24-pack case. I don't usually go for light beers, and wouldn't have gotten it at it's usual $22 retail price--regular and dark Beck's are both better and are the same retail price--but at the sale price, it was competing with the likes of Busch and Keystone, and at this level it competes well, and you need make no apologies for making the purchase. Tastes similar to regular Beck's but lighter, thinner, and grainier. It even has some of that familiar astringent kick towards the end, but of course a much weaker version. It's drinkable and has a clean finish. Really clear and light colored. As with any green or clear bottled beer, don't get the open six-packs; stick with the 12 packs and cases, hence avoiding the frequently mentioned skunkiness (and are in any event a better buy).

Classic green bottle, clear yellow color, big fluffy white head with decent retention. Not much lacing. Big time skunky nose; maybe a little grassy hops underneath. Tastes much like the nose; a good deal of skunkinesss but oddly I didn’t find all that unpleasant. Sharp skunk with a little grainy malt, a touch of sweetness and grass. I was actually surprised it had as much flavor, be it as it were, as it did. Body is obviously pretty thin, carbonation is crisp, fairly clean and refreshing. Pretty watery overall.
I didn’t hate this one. I actually prefer the sharp green bottle skunkiness of beers like this and Heineken to American brews like Bud Light and Coors Light, which have even less flavor. I certainly wouldn’t seek this one out but it did the trick when it was the only option and accompanied a freshly grilled backyard burger on a sunny afternoon.

Appearance: Quite clear pale golden color with a moderate amount of slow-rising carbonation. The small off-white head fades to a paper-thin layer after a couple of minutes. The lacing is quite broken, but decent looking.
Aroma: Very pungent skunky aroma, a consequence of the clear (OK, it is faintly greenish) glass bottle. Beneath the skunk there is a sweet caramel note and some mild hops.
Taste: Begins with faintly sweet malt and a slight sting of carbonation. Towards the end of the taste, a lingering metallic hop bitterness appears. Finishes dry with astringent grain flavor.
Mouth feel: Overall this beer seems quite watery.
Drinkability/notes: The worst German beer that I have ever had. And when are brewers going to throw in the towel on clear glass bottles? Samuel Smith's seems to have finally abandoned clear glass, when will the rest?
