A: The beer is crystal clear golden yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a half finger high bright white head that quickly died down, leaving a thin layer of bubbles on the surface and a thick ring of large bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: There are light aromas of skunkiness in the nose.
T: There are sweet flavors of bready malts in the flavors along with notes of chemicals.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer isn’t that bad considering that it is non-alcoholic—it has some flavors of bready malts but there seems to be some leftover chemicals from the process used to remove the alcohol.

Best before end of 08.2013:

Pours straw yellow with a fluffy, lasting white head that leaves plenty of lacing. Pretty impressive for the style!

The smell is pretty heavy on the sulfur/lime. Scant spicy hops might be mixed in there, somewhere...I think.

The taste is chemical-like. An odd bitterness with a touch of sweetness clash. Sulfur lingers.

The carbonation sits just about right. Pretty smooth despite the aftertaste. Unfortunately, the taste and aftertaste put a dent into what would have been a decent texture for the style.

Too chemical-ish for me. "Euro-skunk" and a nice appearance, and appropriate carbonation, about sums it up. Not the most "refreshing" NA/low alcohol beer I've had.

Clear pale gold with one inch of white head and very nice lacings both last all the way down.
Smell is mild cracker and corn.
Taste is sweet malts with a decent Pilsner style hop back.
Mouthfeel is fine and fairly full bodied for a near beer.
Overall if you like regular Beck's and need to avoid alcohol for some reason give this a try.

Golden with a finger plus of whites that only slowly falls to a solid sheet of the same. Really the best looking N.A. beer I've seen. Smells like many of the others: corn, grain, sweet white bread, but this one has an odd squash (butternut or pumpkin) character. Taste is corny with some sugar and a slight grain cleanliness. Medium on light with moderate carb and a fairly dry finish. Not bad, don't care for the nose here.

Reviewing as a low alcohol beer, not comparing to other German pilseners. I appreciate the lack of adjuncts and preservatives.

Pours a golden straw colour with a spongy white head that leaves a fair amount of lacing and settles as a small cap.

The smell is a bit skunky at first. After breathing in a pilsener glass for a few minutes there is a sweet, honey-like aroma, floral hops and a metallic note

The taste leans towards the dry side, but is balanced by a mild sweetness that comes through on the tongue. There is a burned grain flavour as well. The finish is dry, with faint earth and metal tones in the aftertaste.

The mouthfeel has a medium body and a moderate amount of carbonation. Mostly crisp and clean throughout.

As far as low alcohol beers go, Beck’s Non-Alcoholic is a surprisingly good anomaly in that it actually tastes like beer. Watery beer, sure, but it’s in stark contrast to contemporaries that compensate by being too sweet from using corn syrup or simply taste like carbonated water.

I’ve enjoyed it with snack foods like popcorn, beef jerky and kettle chips, as well as sandwiches and pizza.

Justifications for this review - 1) Never have had or reviewed a NA/Low Alcohol Beer 2) It's the newest installment in the now-infamous series "Free Beers From Work!" This has a best by date of 01.2013.

Pours a somewhat dark shade of yellow. A billowy white head actually retains well and leaves some lace.

Scent is, well...not pleasant. Old cooked veggies and wet cardboard come to mind. Just plain terrible, no redeeming qualities.

After struggling to get close enough to sip it, I find the taste is a slight improvement over the smell, but still quite offensive. Cereal, grainy malts with lots of adjunct garbage cardboard blech. After maybe 5 sips, I decide the taste IS just as bad. Mouthfeel, although inconsequential due to the awful flavor, is carbonated at least.

Man, I suppose this COULD be skunked, but can NA beers even skunk? What would've this tasted like in 2013?? Honestly hard to keep down.

A: Pours a crystal clear pale golden yellow in color. The beer has a half finger tall white head that reduces to a couple of thin patches and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate lacing is observed.

S: Starts with a pretty strong aroma of skunk (when you are further away from the glass) that disappears as you get it closer to your nose - weird. There is also quite a bit of grain adjunct malt sweetness. The skunk aroma is outputting and did not make me want to drink this beer.

T: Starts out with a sweet adjunct grain malt flavor and then there is a lighter amount of grassy hops. There is also something very chemically in this beer - probably as a result of the process of removing the alcohol. The sweetness in this beer lingers.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation.

O: Easy to drink and could be sessionable (considering the negligible amounts of alcohol but I do not really see the point). Not a style that I drink regularly but I think that all of the beers in this style seem to be rated kind of low.

330ml bottle poured into pint glass 8/5/12

A clear straw yellow with lots of carbonation feeding a well sustained thumbs width of soapy bone white head and it even leaves a few partial rings of lace

S skunky sweet malt and some grassy hops

T oh dear, this gets nasty fast, the smell is tolerable but the taste is sour and skunky with some soggy cardboard

M watery and well carbonated but the aftertaste is awful and seems lo linger

O I gave it a fair chance but this is quite bad regardless of the style

a party leftover and I can't think who left this behind, perhaps they were wise in doing so
Why bother?

Pours a clear, bright golden color with just less than 1 finger of fluffy white head that leaves sticky lacing throughout the beer. Very lively, bubbly carbonation.

The scent is tea-like, notes of mint and kind of skunky.

The taste is of sweet malt, tea flavors, grainy, a strong metallic finish.

Light bodied, very thin and watery, low carbonation.

This is probably an above average beer for the style, I didn't really enjoy it all that much due to the lack of flavor but it was better than I expected.

Big white head slowly fades into a decent bisquity lacing above a clear golden colored light bodied beer.

Skunky sour hops and grain malt aroma that transfer to the taste quite the same, not impressed with either, but than again I'm not much of a Beck's fan other than their dark with is quite good.

Give me a IPA or a Oktoberfest, Stout or basically anything else. lol

As part of my overseas experience, I [get] to try some non-alcoholic brews. I'm trying to keep the look relative to the style and not focus on the depressing nature of what I'm drinking. Beck's is the most ubiquitous here, so it gets the first look.

A: Poured a clear yellow into a plain pint glass with a very dense 2+ inch head. The head's lasting power and lacing are pretty and impressive. On looks alone, this thing could go into a magezine advertisement.

S: Sour and faint. No noticeable hoppiness. Without the alcohol, there are smells that just don't manage to evaporate, but as it warms a pleasant toasty white bread smell develops.

T: Lightly bitter without the obnoxious artificial-tasting sweetness that tends to be the hallmark of the non-alcoholic styles. Unpleasantly metallic aftertaste.

M: Less carbonation here than I was expecting. Very thin and very watery.

O: Easily more drinkable than many real alcoholic light lagers. Thanks to its surprising bitterness, there are fleeting moments that might lead one to think they were drinking something else. Because of its low carbonation and lack of outright offensive qualities, it makes for a decent enough sports drink.

The color is light straw and is very clear. A small amount of bubbles can be seen coming from the glass bottom. Head is pillowy and white, 3 fingers high; lacing is almost non-existent.

Aromas have a little floral quality, but these are overshadowed by the off-putting smells of metals and skunk. No malt aroma.

The taste is like a badly flavored water, with a metallic and astringent character. Body is thin and carbonation is pretty high. The aftertaste is bitter and unpleasant.

Overall this was a very bad beer! Not one I'd like to ever have again.

Yellow straw colour that is incredibly clear & has a few bubbles rising to the surface. A two-finger sized head that halves in size quickly then gradually disappears to leave a slight lacing at the top.

A skunk & grain mix than does smell like a lager, but a heavily watered down one. It's not the most appealing mix of water, corn & other adjuncts with slight citrus aroma at the back end.

Sweet & watery at the same time, a pretty poor mix of grain & corn, a little grassy hops & more water. It is rounded off with a lingering bitterness.

Thin bodied and very watery to drink, it has a rather smooth texture but it is quite dry in the finish despite being wet to start.

Not a good beer, the watery taste is match by a watery smell; it is basically a standard (poor) pale lager mixed with water. The head is a lot better than I would have imagined although it is sort lived.

I tried this beer on April 5, 2011 after purchasing from a local bakery (yes - a bakery). The beer poured a translucent medium gold with a huge frothy white head. The aroma grainy malt. The mouthfeel is very watery with almost no carbonation. The flavour is weak malt, and nothing else. Could quite possibly be a heavily watered down Beck's.

Poured from a bottle into a stolen Bitburger pint glass in low altitude Galway, Ireland.

A: A three finger head of nice cream and thickness. Clear yellow.

Sm: Clean fresh barley, and that's all.

T: Flavour is loaded towards the front. Unbalanced. Just one note of clean barley, accompanied by malt. Gutted, empty finish.

Mf: Very light and thin. A bit watery. Too wet.

Dr: You could down it all night, but it's just be empty calories and no drunkenness. Decently priced, to its credit - even by Irish standards.

A- Well this looks like a standard macro lager...crystal clear straw color with minimal head retention, although it does leave behind a thick-ish foam ring around the brew. The lacing is actually decent, sticking to the side of my glass. Looks to be well carbonated as well....lots of big bubbles rising to the top. Nothing much else to look at here.

S- This area also has a macro-like aroma, being primarily skunky, and grassy dryness...it definitely smells like a beer and actually I think it has a more prolific malt aroma than what would be expected.

T- This tastes like Becks....really it does! It's sweet and malty on the front of the palate and finishes dry, but not in a hop manner, but it's dry and grainy. Overall, much like Beck's though, it isn't anything to brag about....just a processed lager.

M- Thin and watery, yet it is totally refreshing with the carbonation that bristles the palate.

D- If I didn't know this was non alcoholic beer, it would be hard to tell the difference IMO. Perfect for those nights where you want a brew but just want to give the liver a rest from the booze. I'll probably get this again and don't have a problem drinking this!

I have never had an "alcohol free/non-alcoholic" beer before. Till now. (Let the muted, neutered trumpets sound...)

Rather suspect looking from the start. Incredibly clear piss-yellow color, with a wispy, almost dishsoap-looking white head. But, uh, if we're supposed to review to style, I guess this looks okay, considering...

Smell? What smell? If I get anything, it's like a glass of water with a teaspoon of white grape juice added. Okay, maybe a tablespoon.

For a second, there was something about the taste that I thought I liked. But it quickly got very weird. Again I'm reminded of white grape juice. But there's also a sweetness like Splenda or some other non-sugar sweetener, and something kind of bitter or astringent, but not in that good hoppy way...more like chewing on a grape vine or some other such roughage. I knew from the second sip there was no way I was going to finish this bottle.

I guess it feels okay. It's lightly carbonated.

Must be very drinkable at .3%, huh? Bullshit. No way should this trangression ever be done to beer, but it has been. At least I didn't buy it. A-V-O-I-D or forever disgrace yourself.
