A: The beer is relatively clear light yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high dense white head that died down and left a thin layer of bubbles on the surface, a collar around the edge, and some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Although this beer came in a green bottle, no traces of skunk are present in the smell. Instead, the smell has light aromas of sweet malts and apples.
T: Like the smell, the taste has light flavors of sweet bready malts and apple juice. Although no bitterness is detectable, the underlying hops help keep the malts in check.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and a little clean on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer might seem to be somewhat bland, but it's extremely drinkable and doesn't have any off-flavors or skunk. The fruity aromas and flavors seem to be a little unusual for a lager (as opposed to an ale) and might be a byproduct of the Austrian water. Overall, I thought that this beer wasn't that bad compared to others in the style.

Gösser is practically champagne pale with nearly as much carbonation and not much more froth atop. In hindsight maybe a flute glass might have been better? Either way, it's a good-looking beer whose spotless clarity, subtle sheen, retentive head and resistant lacing all bode well for it.
The aroma shows a healthy amount of breadiness and very delicate florals. Unlike too many mass-produced lagers, it is not overly sweet and exhibits an unrefined, very natural smelling graininess that, undisturbed by any adjuncts, ultimately speaks to the beer's integrity.
On the palate too there is a decent heft to the grains as well as the smallest amount of hoppiness that is humanly detectable in the form of a faint, generic grassiness. It is a very basic and approachable beer but still manages a satisfying, relatively full-bodied (for a lager) presence.
Both the grains and the grass are no-frills but substantial enough to be well-embedded right through the finish (though, admittedly, the beer doesn't have a lot of persistence). Still, the mouthfeel is at least free of foul adjunct notes or inappropriate corn syrup-like sweetness. Bubbles are adjusted so as to make it refreshing but not bloating.
Gösser is exactly the kind of serviceable and well-constructed lager you'd expect from a nation of people who appreciate good beer, like to drink a lot of it, but don't care much to deviate from what they're accustomed to. It is a good national-brand lager though, like any national-brand lager, the country produces better brands that are simply harder to come by.

look: 3.25 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 3.25 | overall: 3.75
appearance: can pour, into pint glass, flat bottomed, ..a deeper gold than some beers from similar brewers, nice head retention, just right amount of carb.
smell: light, hoppy note, fresh, grassy notes near the halfway mark, hard to smell thru the inch of foamy everlasting head.
taste: starts off decently sharp, quickly levels itself to a malt, and has various finishes depending on its temperature, ranging from slick when its warm, to very crisp on the colder side, great tasting beer for a cheaper import. has almost a pilsner finish. somewhat dry. but still refreshing.grains become more present as it warms to room
mouthfeel: snappy. very much like hieneken or becks, but with similar qualities to a stella, minus the corny sappy flavour iam not so fond of.
overall: very good. not one to be bragged about , but definatly on my regular go-to list
its easy drinking, and almost the perfect session beer, maybe a bit too foamy if anything
but that really depends on the pour i suppose. seems almost drafty. i enjoy this beer enough to choose it over numerous more pricey offerings. at under 4 bucks a tall can i could drink these all day. not the "finest beer from austria" as the can claims..but id say its a reasonable attempt for the cost. ..overall..get 3 and drink them on a hot day..see for yourself. its good stuff.

500ml glass served in a dimple mug.
A: Pours a clear yellow golden color forming a big bubbled aired white head. Medium retention and some lacings left
S: Very malty beer. Sweet grains and honey upfront followed by quite German Lager yeasts
T: Slightly sweet and grainy upfront. Nice Lager bready taste. Flowery hops
M: Light body. Good carbonation. Nice bready and hops flowery aftertaste
O: Good drinkability. Classic easidrinking German Lager. Recommended

A bright golden pour with a 1 finger head of foam, good lacing.
Some sweetish notes in the smell, caramel malt and a bit of grain, and a light pleasant bitterness.
Good balanced, sort of, flavours. Sweet malts, some grain, lighter bitterness here than in the smell. A well rounded brew that I find satisfying and a good price..$8.69 for the 6 pack of 11.2 oz bottles. Not as good as the Dark but like i said, satisfying.
