A: A dark brown, much darker than I expected. Not much head, but some good lacing.
S: A nice woody, malty, and citrus smell.
T: Very malty up front, and also pretty hoppy. Floral and citrus aftertaste.
M: Pretty heavy, and low carbonation. Smooth.
D: Good, solid beer to drink.

12oz bottle thanks to Chazari99 for giving me this. Poured into Founders snifter. No bottle date.
A- Pours a slightly yellowish golden brown with a thin layer of white head that quickly recedes. Below average carbonation.
S- Honey, caramel malts, a tiny bit of pale malts, some citrus hops, but not much.
T- Mostly caramel malts, some very light citrus hops, finishes with a very caramel malt finish that lingers as an aftertaste. Nothing special going on here unless you love caramel malts.
M- Medium bodied, average carbonation, fairly easy to drink.
O- Nothing too impressive with this APA, if that's what it's considered. Not much going on except lots of caramel malts, which doesn't provide for a bad taste just not the taste I'm looking for at all. I wouldn't recommend trying this unless you are a huge caramel malts fan and that is what you are expecting.

Picked up a six pack at Winchester Wine and Spirits a few weeks back and split with a friend.
Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into my Sam Adams Perfect Pint glass.
Beer pours a hazy orange amber with some really thin head. Not much going on here.
Smell is similarly disappointing. Some moderate malt sweetness with a touch of some booze which is surprising at 6%. Not much in the nose to pull you in.
Taste is totally unbalanced. There is some piney hops and malt sweetness, but the taste is really all over the place. It's just not a good tasting beer.
The mouthfeel is also slightly off. There's not enough carbonation.
Overall, this is just an all over the place APA. Not balanced at all. It's hard to see what the brewers were trying to do with this one.

Appearance: 12oz bottle poured into Sam Adams "Perfect Pint". Cloudy golden-wheat colour. Thin bubbly head. Visible moderate carbonation.
Smell: Very malty with a hint of hops. Pretty lacking.
Taste: Unbalanced flavours of malts and hops. Some piney-citrus in the aftertaste. Bitterness is rather harsh. The bottle advertises "...deliciously well-balanced and drinkable." I don't find this all that delicious.
Mouthfeel: Light-bodied, decent amount of carbonation, lots of bite - too much if you ask me.
Overall: A rather disappointing beer. Lacks big-time in smell and taste. There are definitely better APAs out there.

Poured a 1.5" head which settled down quickly. Nice clear amber color. Smells of rich malt and leather. Taste is much milder, with little or no malt or hops and next to no finish. This is indeed the type of safe beer not to offend anyone at a baseball game and in that respect I guess sure it's a homerun.

Pours a three finger white head fades slowly leaving some lace. Almost clear amber color. Light-medium carbonation and light-medium bodied. Nose is grapefruit hops and flavor is same - grapefruit hops - average APA. $1.95 for a 12oz bottle from Julio's Liquors Westborough, Ma.

Almost no head. Some lacing because of my 10ft pour.
Bread and some toasted caramel. I haven't used this description before but I get some Arizona/NesTea smell. A very sweetened black tea to be specific.
Sweet light malt with that same sweetened black tea taste. A hop bitterness but that is faint on flavor but large on the bitterness and lack of flavor. Finishes with the malty sweet black tea finish.
Light body, just about no carbonation, I knew I would have trouble putting this down after the second sip.

On tap at the brewpub the afternoon of Night of the Funk 2010.
Pours a nice brown-caramel color with a two-finger white head and a bit of lacing as it goes down. The nose brings some mild malt as well as some very light floral hops.
The taste goes in the same direction with some floral hops and a tad bit of citrus. There is a bit of bread dough there as well. I expected more from the taste, as there is quite a bit of bitterness in the feel, the taste just doesn't quite match up. In the end, a pretty decent brew.

12 oz. bottle, brewed to 38 IBUs with Glacier and Chinook. It pours a crystal-clear garnet, with medium carbonation and a thin tan head. It looks good, but it's no APA. Floral and citric in the nose, with dark crystal malts and a hint of roast. Again, good but not APA territory. Tastes similar, hoppy and caramelly, with a touch of dark malts. Crisp and dry, with a medium body and lingering bitterness. This is a great beer that is unfortunately mislabeled. This is definitely not a pale ale - too much crystal and darker malts - but it makes for a delicious red ale.

Clear, light amber in colour with a bit of an orange tint. Modest cap of fine whitish bubbles with a soapy collar. Spotty lacing. Citrusy hop aroma, oranges and earthy peels, slight pine, sweet caramel maltiness. Nice aroma. The flavour was mediocre. Bitterness was well balanced up front and had a harsh edge in the finish. This paralleled the sweet, bready, caramel malts that were present up front that basically disappeared towards the end. Hop flavours were present, but of lower intensity than in the aroma, and were mostly of the orange/citrus variety. Light in body, slightly thinned out in the finish, with soft carbonation and a bit of dryness. There's a lot of potential here. Modifying the malt bill to keep it from losing its malt character in the finish would go a long way to making this an above average APA.

A: A smaller fluffy white 1/2 finger head fades semi slowly over mostly clear amber nectar orange color.
N: A mix of some light malts and hops. A light spicy and slight piny hops, with some bitterness. Some malty backbone in there, a nice toasty malt, little sweetness. Overall I think the malts overpower the hops, which is much different than I remember having it fresh on tap. Either the age or the bottle have dumbed it down a bit.
T: Starts with a slightly pale hop character. Some juicy hops, slight pine, little grassy, some light astringent hop character. A little gritty tasting too. ALso some malt, a light malty flavor with some sweetness, gritty tasting, but still dry somehow. It's also somewhat abrasive, that grittiness. It also has a slight creamy taste.
M: Medium to lighter body with lower carbonation.
F: Slightly bitter, some astringency again, with more light pale hops, light grassy and just about no pine any more. Little malty flavor, with more of the dry gritty flavors. The more I drink it the more that dry somewhat unpleasant bitterness and that gritty weird taste just don't go away and really hammer it at you.

Another serviceable beer from Haverhill, complete with their trademark slut on the label-- ditch it, guys! A decent caramelly color and a thin head. Short on aroma save for some bitter citrus; a bit of fizz in the mouth and some malt up front, slight notes of toffee and some moldy grass that has been sitting in the grasscatcher for a few days. The bitterness at the end would be better if it had something tastier to balance; alas, this is not so. Like other HB stuff, it's drinkable but I wouldn't seek it out.

The appearance was a deep caramel-amber topped by an enticing beige head that dissipated after a few seconds. Aroma was pretty bready, with some caramel and toffee.
The flavor was definitely sweet and malty but with a bitter, somewhat off aftertaste. Worse, about halfway through the swig the sweetness faded and I felt a little like I was eating a pine cone. This particular piece of forest litter detracted a bit from my overall rating on its mouthfeel.
Overall, I think this a decent brew but not one I'd recommend.

12 oz bottle poured into a perfect pint glass.
After a good pour, the color is light orange with a white head. Clear with lots of lacing. Smell is sweet with a malty background. Taste is lacking any hops whatsoever. Tons of nut flavors and bark. Mouthfeel is nice and light, fits the style. Drinkable due to the light body and lack of any challenge. I usually love the Taps brews but this one is a boring malt bomb. I expect a good measure of hops in my Pale Ales.

Poured out of a 12oz bottle into a pint glass.
A-off white head and a very clear amber body.
S-floral smell, faint grapefruit.
T-floral and medicinal in the front, middle is more malty with toast and nut notes. Bitter finish.
M-medium
D-Not bad but this just can't compare with what else is out there. Nothing spectacular. I would have this again but only if the alternative was something yellow and fizzy.
