Had to come over to Ft. Lauderdale for some business. Decided to come a day early and check this place out. And was very pleased I did so.
For starters it is fairly easy to get to from either 595 or the Dixie Highway. It was Sunday afternoon so parking was plentiful, but I've been told Fridays and Saturdays can get full.
Very large and spacious inside with a very long bar and plenty of seating. Tastefully appointed, they steered away from a sports bar type theme and stuck to a more simple décor. Game area for bocce, fooz and cornhole in back by brewery.
Small crowd even for a Sunday afternoon, but everyone was friendly and having a great time. Staff was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Bartender let me try several small samples of beer on top of what I was drinking.
Tour was informative and a lot of fun, complete with numerous chances to sample even more beer throughout.
Tap selection was moderate in size, but everything I tried was excellent. They also had a handful of guest taps featuring Cigar City and Teqesta. All in all a well rounded selection with something for just about all tastes, even some eclectic ones. My favorites were the Nib Smuggler and the Nitro Espresso Porter. Growler fills of their regular offerings available.
Overall a very pleasant experience, would highly recommend to anyone who's going to be in the area. Can't wait to go back myself.

Made the trip here with a friend while visiting Miami.
A - Got here in the afternoon so it was quiet. But you can see the bocce ball and jenga sets so this is a place to hang with friends and play games while drinking beer.
Q - We got a flight which was perfect. Came out on a board with each offering written in chalk. I noticed varied glassware for the pours. Place is legit.
Serv: In a word... awesome! We got here and met one of the owners who thanked us for coming from NY and spoke about the beer and the building. We were able to get on a brewery tour even though they only do those on weekends. On top of that, we met the brewmaster and were able to ask questions. Really top notch and a highlight of my vacation.
Sel - Maybe no MBCP but with options like No Crusts, the mocha porter, and some Berliner Weisse there were great options. Every one was at least good if no incredible. Not to get too gushy but how much better could stuff like Last Snow be if these beers were *this* good? Something for everyone.
F - They only have food trucks which would have arrived later.
V - Reasonable pours, my flight of 4/4oz was $9. I've been hit harder than that. Most pours were about $6.
I really hope the best for these folks who have the passion for great beer and offer their customers many great options. In talking there is a plan to get a bottling line going and I'd put Buddha offerings high on my wish list.

Had a great Biergarten vibe. Very conducive to costumer interaction. Train tracks right next to the Oakland Park taproom which sucked as it shook the entire place when a train went roaring past. We went when Last Snow and No Crusts was on tap which blew our minds. Fantastic brewery, great beers, someone needs to derail the trains from hell lol.
Overall, a great place to visit if you are in the area, the owner and staff are very passionate about their beers. As it's a new brewery they were packed when we went in May, so it was hard to actually talk for a prolonged period to the owner or staff, but they did a great job all things considered. They also have a shuttle deal with a nearby hotel which is awesome.

The wife and I visited the new brewery this past Monday (6/17/13). The place is fantastic. The bar area is huge, they have a very nice ambiance and the actual bar is beautiful. In addition to the bar area, they have a bocce court and cornhole boards set up back in the warehouse.
The service was top notch. Both Rosie and Don were extremely friendly and very helpful. The beer selection was quite nice and almost all of them were phenomenal. We ended up doing sampler paddles and tried the 10 beers they had on draft.
We will definitely be back anytime we're on the east coast of Florida. Since it's only a 2 1/2 hour drive from us in Fort Myers, Funky Buddha may become a destination like Cigar City has become. If you're in the area, check it out. You won't be disappointed.

A big open place with a huge bar and seating for at least 100 people.
Four huge windows let you spy on the brewery side of things.
30 taps featuring 10 of their brews and guest taps from other Florida breweries. House pints are $5, special releases are $5.50, flights of four are $9. Winner!
Even in the heat of the summer solstice they have 3 porters on tap, including Last Snow.
No food on site but a big book of delivery places is available, just ask.

I am so glad to be the first review of the new Funky Buddha Brewery in Oakland Park.
The brewery tasting area is HUGE and can accommodate plenty of people the bar has got to be 75+ feet long. It is not yet completed inside but the bar and behind the bar area is very tastefully done. The wood is gorgeous the lighting is great and the space is well sound treated. The growler fill machine ( I love it) is a bit out of place in this setting but it such a cool piece of machinery I understand showing it off.
This is just the first round of brewing at the new much larger facility and the beers were fantastic. They were fresh and were at least as good as I recall them tasting at the Boca brew pub location.
Service was hit and miss but mostly hit! Overall they did an outstanding job hiring for the right attitude and most of the bartenders have great personality and provide great service. I am sure that over time the already very good service will improve to outstanding.
Week one had 5-6 of their special beers on draft and to have Last Snow, No Crust, Pina Colada Wheat, Bonita Applebum... on for over a week at a time was a real treat.
So kudos to the team at Funky Buddha for pulling off a very ambitious brewery/tasting room that will become a great beer destination for South Florida.
