From my notes of May 8th, 2009
I arrived soon after opening and took a seat at the bar. I got instant attention and placed my order for both food and beer. On this occasion, I ordered their Chicken Fuente and it was a delicious dish.(I usuall go for the Bangers and Mash or Fish and Chips...both very very good)
My first beer was their Sitzman's Steam and found it to be below par for the beers I usually drink here. So says my review of it if you care to look.
My second brew, the Not Brown Ale, was great as usual. I followed it up with a pint of the Cask Punjabi, 3rd beer poured from a new firkin. Superb!
So, as usual for me as I've been coming here for most of this decade, the service was great and I had a great time. Oh and the bartender remembered me from the last time I visited and he shouted that pint of the Cask. My first freebie I've received over the years but that's not what I'm looking for when I come to this pub. I always have a good time. I highly recommend visiting if you are in town.

This place had a good feel and decent selection. My wife and I love the food and take all of our visitors here at least once. The selection of beer can be limiting some times compared to other brewpubs I have been to. I can not rave enough about the wheat they have on tap and generally pick up some growlers every now and again. I definitely recommend this place when you are in town. While you are there you can play some pool or check out some concerts or festivals in the square but get there early as the patio seats fill up quickly.

I frequent this locale as their beer rotates rather quickly and the atmosphere is pleasant, laid-back, and generally quiet-ish. The food is good, at least the few things off the menu that I've had. Nothing particularly different or remarkable, but highly edible and tasty. Plenty of pool on the poolside half of the restaurant. The beers here can be hit-or-miss, so some are boring (a lot of their regular offerings) and some are interesting and delicious. (Like their ESB's and Bourbon Stouts)
Certainly one of my favorite haunts. Worth a visit for sure.

A great place that was very busy mid afternoon, probably due to the nearby college. Had a good vibe for the time ofday, interesting how it would be at night.
Beers were of average quality from what I could tell from the beers I tried. Everything was good but had something not right, nothing major though.
Service was very slow although the server obviously tried to know everything he could about the beers. Wasoff on a few things although I am convincd it was because I got the wrong beer, not that his knowledge was off.
Selection seemed good with a number of selctions on the board.
Food was very good, Had Tomato and Mushroom Soup and the chicken pot pie. Was good but not spectacular.
Reasonably priced although I did not buy the beers so that area I am guessing is in line with the food.

Very good atmosphere when first walking into the dining side of the split pub and bar establishment. Great cleanliness of the store and merchandise to acquire if desired is cleanly displayed. The staff is helpful in anything that you may want. Very knowledgeable barkeep in their processes of brewing the beer. The selection of on tap brewed beers are 14 with 3 n/a. Overall if you are wanting to desire a good dining experience with paired beer then this would be a place within Fort Collins downtown area that I would suggest.

I have to say that seeing the score and reading the reviews after visiting this place was shocking. I noticed that there has not been a review for almost two months so that could account for the difference but nearly everything we experience was completely different that every other review.
Atmosphere: Great location in Historic Old Town Fort Collins. Separated into two physical locations by a walk way with a basement that connects the two. The place was pretty quite with less than a 1/3 of the tables filled. But our party of eight was crammed into a table in the back of the back patio. Not a good start.
Quality: The beers were grainy and inconsistent. Some were chalk full of diacytle. We had some get the samplers and others get a normal pint. Many were left on the table, unfinished. Out of eight people and a total of 11 different beers order via sampler or pint, there wasn't a good one to be had.
Service: I would have ranked it lower but we had a new server, who was being assisted by senior staff member. Service was slow, disorganized, and frustrating. Long wait times between orders and it being served. Rarely checked on during the service. Some of which can be explained by new staff. However, they were not busy at all and the senior staff should have been much more helpful especially when it is slow.
Selection: The selection was the lone bright spot in they had several styles to choose from. However, a good selection of bad beers doesn't really help.
Food: Just not good. I ordered the Devils Back Bone which is a Buffalo burger topped with garlic portabella mushroom sauce. I had high hopes and it just didn't come through. The sauce was very messy with very little mushroom and only hints of garlic. Everybody else seemed to have a similar experience.
Value: Very good prices, very poor return for your money.
I hope that our visit was an aberration and from reading the reviews I would think it was. However, our entire experience was very bad. I'm not sure how an off day would make the food, service, and beer bad. If so they had the perfect storm or bad that day.

This brewpub is contained in two different buildings. They may be connected by a basement, but that is not open for public access. Coopersmith's is located in the pedestrian mall of downtown Fort Collins. On one side of the walkway is the Coopersmith's billiards hall and the other side is the pub. They serve both food and beer in both locations. Upon entering the restaurant building, you first encounter the greeting station. Directly ahead is a door for a hallway that holds the bathrooms. veer left for seating at the long beautiful bar or some tables. Wait at the greeting station to be seated in the restaurant, to the right of the entrance. Tap selections are displayed on a large chalkboard and consists of a wide selection of styles, of which some selections rotate with the season. The menu offers typical pub fare with some focus on english eats. The food is great, the beers nice, and the service attentive.
This would be a short bike ride from New Belgium or Odell's. It is a favorite stomach-refueling place of mine to stop after sampling some beers at the two afore-mentioned breweries.

We have been coming here for years, so we may take it a little for granted. It has a big bar that features eight or nine of their high quality beers. It looked like at least three were available on cask. I had their bitter on cask and my wife enjoyed their Punjabi IPA. Both were pleasantly hopped. We didn't have the food, but a plate was served nearby and it looked amazing. Great onion rings and the wings almost prompted me to reach over and grab one. If there is a criticism, it would be that this is a college town and the service can be a bit relaxed. We got our beers and never saw the bar staff again. The disco (Village People and Bee Gees, ugh) that was playing was annoying, but easy to ignore.

This was our last stop in Fort Collins. It was getting to be around 5ish and the weather was beautiful so we sat out on the porch facing Old Town Square. Fort Collins is a great town to be able to sit outside and eat.
Many beers were on tap that day, ranging from Chili beer or Hefeweizen to RIS and a cask Punjabi Pale Ale. All of the beers were really good and tasted especially fresh. The server was very nice while not entirely knowledgable about the beers (not everybody at a restaurant can be though).
I had a broiled chicken sandwich with melted brie and carmelized onions, served on a croissant. It was amazing and the pub chips (potato wedges) were an excellent pair with my chili beer sample and my cask pint.
I recommend this place and New Belgium Liquid Center to anyone going to Fort Collins. These are both amazing places even if you don't drink and they are heaven if you do!

I make a point of visiting Coopersmith's Pub & Brewing everytime I'm in town and have yet to be dissapointed. The staff are usually very friendly and most of the servers are at least beer literate. I usually visit during the lunch hours, but have had dinner there once. On this particular trip, SWMBO & I had worked up an appetite after walking through the shops in the historic Old Town and decided to stop in for some nourishment & refreshment before hitting the brewery trail. I ordered up the smoky brisket with garlic mashers while the wifey enjoyed the apple-walnut chicken salad croissant. Very good pub grub with solid service. I enjoyed the Punjabi Pale Ale with lunch and finished with a Opus Mega Alpha. Well crafted. We also had samples of the Razzmatazz, Scrumpy Cider & the house mead. Great establishment, good experience, highly recommend. Here's to the CooperSmith!
