This is my favorite place in the St Louis area to buy beer. It is also a great place to buy any alcoholic beverage. It is Disney World for drinkers.
It has to be the largest selection of beer in the area. And the people that work in the beer department are not just clerks. They are fans of craft beer and have knowledge of all the products they sell. There are samplings on every Saturday and they keep their web site updated with all the new arrivals. While I have found better prices on certain brands elsewhere, they generally have the best prices as well. There is nothing to not like here and everything to love.

I must admit I have been prone to being stoked about not so outstanding beer selections (I'm form Oklahoma) but this store seemed to have a good selection of beer from some of the best in the business, plus some of the more rare/limited offerings from such heralded breweries as Nebraska and Goose Island.
The place was clean and well organized, and the prices were good overall, even great in some instances. There was a large refrigerated section in the very back that had a wide selection to choose from for those who want an array of cold brews for immediate drinking (must be nice).
There was also a grand selection of glassware which nearly spanned an entire section of shelving from top to bottom. Sometimes I get just as much pleasure out of collecting and pairing glassware with my brews as much as I do drinking the brews themselves, so needless to say, this was quite a treat.
Lukas Liquors packs a lot of beer in not a lot of space. I was really impressed by the customer service, which included curbside delivery. If you find yourself traveling I-44 through St. Louis I would recommend you take the short jaunt to Lukas and grab yourself some goodies.

If your shopping for wine this place is A+.
I wish the beer section of Lukas was bigger. Its jammed into one corner of the store but the selection is still decent.
The greatest selection is in the single bottle refrigerated area.
A huge selection of chilled bottled beer from all over the world can be found here. And you can build your own six pack from these selections. I'd be great if the room temp beer of six packs and cases were this diverse.
Overall, it's probably one of the best places in STL county to buy beer.

I've been a Lukas customer for several years now, but realized I hadn't yet reviewed them.
The beer section stretches from the back, right corner of the store, follows a long row of cooler doors along the back of the store, and ends with a large macro section.
The craft/import section includes:
-- A long ~25ft wall shelving unit w/ 5 levels of shelves, which holds single bottles ranging from 8.5oz - 750ml+. When facing the wall, the left 3/4 hold import bottles, and the right 1/4 holds craft bombers/750ml bottles.
--A small island of shelves that hold sought-after trade brews like FW Abacus, Cantillon Rose de Gambrinus, Nebraska Black Betty, and Saison-Brett.
--An aisle of mix-a-six craft & import brews.
--3+ aisles of 6pks, 12pks, variety pks.
--~10 glass-door coolers with cold craft & import single bottle & multi-pack selections
--1/2 BBL & 1/6 BBL sales for those of us that have kegerators.
In addition to the selection, the service at this store is fantastic. By far, the best bottle shop in the STL area!

Lukas is luckily 5 minutes from my home. You can find all year round and seasonals from breweries such as Bells, Founders, Goose Island, Schlafly, Stone (just came to MO), etc.. To give you an idea, Lukas received 8ish cases of the most recent HopSlam. Some of the highlights I've picked up here over the past year: GI Bourbon County Vanilla and Rare, Bells Hopslam, Founders KBS.
While it is 'way out west' of downtown, there is quick turnover so very little old product sits on the shelf. A Mix-a-6 is also available and even pretty limited things are offered with it, albeit lasting shortly!

Wonderful Store for both Wine and Beer. In the beer section, there are a great amount of Krieks, Belgians, and many of my favorites (IPA, Ales, Micro-Brews, etc.). You can "Mix-A-Six" of any beers from quite a good selection of both chilled and room temperature beers. I would say this place is more for wine drinkers but they do a good job accommodating both types of drinkers. There is also someone always asking if I need help or would like some new suggestions. Great place if living in Wildwood/Chesterfield area!
Here is the website for more info...

First of all, this place is LARGE. However, you'll quickly find that the beer section takes up a relatively small corner of the store overall. Very much a place for wine. However, the beer selection is quite diverse and overall pretty good. Mixed six packs allowed, which is always cool for those looking to try something different. Most of the usual suspects are available with a few surprises and some noticeable absences (Stone?). Nice glassware selection. If you've been to some of the mega party supplies and out for rarities, you'll be disapointed but if you're looking for a quality selection, this place isn't too shabby.

I went here yesterday. Drove about an hour and it was well worth it. They had an awesome belgium selection and a great mix-a-six selection. You can get the mix-a-sixers in the warm aisle or the cooler which was cool.
I was asked if I needed any help and after I bought the beer they helped me carry it out to my car, so I can safely say that service was great.
They had alot of rogue. They had alot of Avery, Bells, Schlafly, and Odell.
Prices were reasonable.
Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier Dunkel 16oz?
Rougue Imperial IPA 75cl
Hop Rod Rye 22oz
Anderson Valley Hop Ottin Ipa 22oz
Aventinus Weizen Eisbock 16oz?
Brasserie Des Rocs 12oz?
Odell 90 Ahilling Ale 12oz
Sierra Nevada ESB 12oz
Great Divide DPA 12oz
Leffe Blonde 12oz
Avery IPA 12oz
Anchor Liberty Ale 12oz
And a fatty little New Belgium Snifter.
If you are in the area, I highly recommend stopping by,

This is a great liquor store as a whole the liquor selection is great with an excellent wine selection too. I would have to say that this store has best selection of beer I have encountered since moving to Missouri. The store is very clean and easy to get around there are wide aisles. The beer variety is well stocked and impeccably organized. There are two mix a six sections one cold and one bigger room temperature. There were three guys working the night I went in there. It was about ten minutes to closing but they were cool and made some great recommendations. I will definitely go there again even though I live two and a half hours away.

Visited on trip to St. Louis. Big store, I just checked out the beer section. Lots of beer, probably just about anything you can find in the area. Great selection of Belgian and other Euro beers. Lots of singles, both build your own six pack as well as more expensive beers broken out as singles. Mostly organized by country, but also some seasonal displays. Good amount of beer in the coolers as well. Prices seemed reasonable. A nice aisle of glassware as well. I didn't really have much dealings with the staff, but the person who checked me out seemed to know something about beer. Kind of way out in the suburbs, but worth checking out if you are visiting.
