Big thanks to heyohhh for the share. For a sour/wild brew, this is one of the most drinkable (chuggable) I've ever had. It pours a caramel-y orange-brown hue, somewhat drab, capped with soapy bubbles. The nose is very comforting; full of soft fruity and spicy notes, like a delectable marmalade. When the brew hits my lips, I realize what is so familiar; it reminds me of old-school orange Gatorade made with the powder, extra-strength. Except, the sour beer version of such a thing. And so, I pound it down. Very very delicious. ISO more.

Thanks to spry for this. Tulip glass.
A: Pours a deep, crystal clear ruby brown color with a thin film of light tan, fizzy head which recedes quickly to a ring. Good retention but no lacing.
S: Tart and funkiness, slight cherry, red fruit, pumpkin, and spice (nutmeg and cinnamon) underneath.
T: Bright tartness is up front but its very mild and incredibly nice. A little red fruit, wine, and just a tinge of pumpkin, and light barrel characteristics complement the sourness.
M: Medium body and medium carbonation with a superb bite.
O: Very nice, mild sour. The pumpkin is subdued and melds well with the other flavors creating an inviting complexity.

Ichabod 2009. Thank you, Carlos. Mike was kind enough to share a bottle a couple of years back, but it's nice to be able to reflect on a whole bottle solo.
Crystal clear, this beer is the color of dried blood. It is capped with a dense, off-white head that quickly falls off to a disk. The nose is a riot. Unique, this combines the essences of pumpkin and squash, in all their meaty glory, without any of their vegetal characteristics, with sourness, red wine and accents the blend with a delicate spice note. Moderately funky with clove from the Brett working nicely with the cinnamon. The sourness is actually rather delicate, with most of the wildness in this beer from Brett. There is some lactic and a touch of acetic character here. Quite excellent.
The palate is a lot more sour than the nose. Very lactic with the yogurt notes pairing quite well with the fruity red wine (blackberries, tropical fruit, pineapple). The sourness does hide the pumpkin flavors, though they are decidedly present. As with the nose, the pumpkin character is more meaty, concentrated and bright than the vegetal/cooked squash notes that some beers have. The finish is a riot of fruity red wine. Berries, summer fruit and a little pineapple are present. Mildly yogurty and moderately sour on the finish, this beer combines spices and wine quite wonderfully. Medium in body and moderately carbonated, this is great on the palate. Highly recommended.

The beer pours an orange color with a white head. The aroma is full of sour pumpkins, cinnamon, nutmeg and some light tart fruit notes. The flavor is similar and is exactly what I expected from a sour pumpkin ale. The pumpkin notes definitely come through, and have some tartness to them which goes very well. I also get some light cinnamon, nutmeg and clove notes. The tartness level is about medium. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. A unique beer that I am glad I got to try.

okey dokey doggy daddy - blind beer #9 from toro de flexionar
A:4 poured a luscious brownish copper colored beer into my snifter glass that had some pink tints peeking from behind the curtain (mmm pink .... ahh never mind). an average bubbly off white head appeared only to vanish shortly thereafter, but was nice while it lasted. it did leave behind a nice collar and uber thin top film. lacing that followed wasn't that bad either.
S:4.5 nom nom. the aroma was wafting about even before I got my schnoz into the glass to smell it. funky cold medina glared about. some real nice fruityness - I am guessing raspberry, but could be convinced otherwise. definitely sour. my taste buds are getting very excited for what is about to happen next. (wow - I am just realizing that if you change a few words this could be submitted to Penthouse Forum). anyway...
T:4.5 love it. love it. love it. the nose did not lead me astray and provided my mouth with a fantastic tasting beer. not quite as much funk as in the nose, but well balanced. very sour but not overly so. still get the fruity taste, but not as sure it is raspberries. thinking it might be some grape tannin, so potentially aged in wine barrels. I am pretty sure I have not had this before, but regardless, I will be seeking this beer out again (as many as I can get).
M:4 well carbonated beer, pretty decently balanced overall. definitely very tart, and almost a bit too tart at the finish of the beer. but unlike jerry seinfeld, I won't let this one small flaw deter me from enjoying this beer over and over again.
D:4 gotta say this was a pretty fine beer. not much more to say that already hasn't been said above. more thanks to paul for another fine beer, regardless of what it is.

Thanks to Thorpe429 and Amyliz4 for opening this one, another want. Thanks Mike and Amy! Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a Bruery tulip.
a - Pours a murky brown-orange color with one inch of white head and moderate carbonation evident.
s - Smells of white wine, brett, funk, sour fruity malts. Not pumpkin at all in the nose, but very funky and sour. Awesome nose.
t - Tastes of brett, funk, white wine, sour fruits, light spices, and very little pumpkin. Not quite as funky as the nose, but still very nice.
m - Medium body and low carbonation. Pretty easy to drink.
o - Overall I thought this was a very nice sour with a great nose. The taste isn't as sour or funky as the nose, but still light and enjoyable. A beer I'd certainly like to have again.

Thanks to amyliz4 for sharing this one.
A: Pours a hazy amber/gold color with a thin white head, no lacing.
S: Has a really nice sour/vinous aroma with hints of spices.
T: I think the pumpkin has faded some, but this is a great tasting vinous sour with some spice lurking in the background.
M: This has got a really nice, full bodied mouthfeel that coats your mouth. Really helps set this one apart.
O: This isn't quite as unique as I had hoped but it ends up as a really nice, easy to drink sour.

Bomber into a Weyerbacher tulip. Thanks to whoever it was who shared this at CdC.
A: Chill-hazed orange body; wispy off-white bubbles. Ok.
S: Actual pumpkin (as opposed to pumpkin pie spice), spicy clove, and moderate sourness. Strange, and all right.
T: Much more sour and vinous than the nose, with the gourd coming in midway through. Huge lactic sourness on the finish. Tasty.
M: Light body, moderate froth. Solid.
O: Interesting beer, but not one I'd seek out. I liked that the pumpkin came through in its own right, but actually would have liked the spices to play a slightly bigger role.
Cheers!
