This is one of my go to places in town when I'm looking for something special. I'm a relatively new beer geek but they seem to have a good selection. It's a pretty small place with not a whole of room between the shelves. I'm always afraid I'm going to knock something over.

In store service can be hit or miss. There's a couple guys who are super helpful and eager to answer questions. There's also a couple who are less so.... Service via their FB page however is top notch. They always answer questions about availability etc... within a couple hours tops.

If you're a home brewer, this is the place to go. They've got all the stuff and are eager to help answer any questions you might have.

I almost feel bad reviewing this since I had such high expectations for this store and the reviews all shower it in praise.

I walked in with my brother-in-law and was not greeted. Two women were behind the counter just standing…a guy was stocking the beer in the coolers and just kind of looked at us. We later asked him where the “beer cave” was since we were first timers and had no idea, and he seemed somewhat annoyed. Needless to say once I did ask one of the women behind the counter if they had any “special” fun beers they did try to help out.

The selection was solid for a store in Grand Rapids, but nothing special. I really didn’t find any beers I couldn’t in a Binny’s, minus a few Short’s they had (and which every store in this area of Michigan has). I asked if they had a few beers mentioned in prior reviews and they were out of everything it would appear. As stated, it’s not like the selection is bad; however, it does not deserve the praise everyone is giving. Understandably this is a good beer store for a smaller area like Grand Rapids, but again this doesn’t mean it should get 4.5 or 5 for selection. In addition there were dusty bottles and some old “hoppy” bottles.

I did like the fact you could buy singles of everything. That is a huge plus. I walked in expecting to drop a ton of money and walked out with a mixed six pack of Short’s. Prices were okay.

Love this place. Used to be my go to for craft when I lived in GR. I came back to visit and its still awesome.

Best selection of Michigan beers for sure. Came here to get some stuff I can't get in IL. Awesome selection of other stuff too. Belgian and other import selection wasn't extensive, but quality.

Service here is awesome, noticed some employees asking customers if they were finding everything alright. Eventually, I started talking to an employee and we talked about beer and she went through a lot of beers with me for about 15 minutes or so.

One of the best things about this place is anything is in singles. Definitely got a nice selection of beers without having to invest in 6 packs. Also if you buy a case worth, you get a 10% discount.

Will definitely be back when in GR.

This is the best beer store I've ever been in; hands down. Whether this is because I've been deprived or because this is such an excellent store, I don't know.

However, the selection was simply phenomenal, all the locals, including Jolly Pumpkin, as well as national brands I never see in Virginia.

You can make your own six packs out of anything, which is great, and there is a decent selection of cold beer.

The staff were super friendly. They gave my wife and I free bottle opener keychains, and recommended that we visit Brewery Vivant. Honestly, I'll probably go here again before I leave Michigan.

Great combination homebrew shop and "party store" (as the Michigan folks call them - liquor store to the rest of the US).

Great selection of MI brews, which is why my wife and I were there. We were on an MI brewery tour of sorts, and wanted some bottles to bring back. They didn't disappoint!

They also convinced us we needed to add one more stop to the Grand Rapids part of our trip - Brewery Vivant - and we are VERY glad we did!

Would definitely go back, if in Grand Rapids again. They also have wine and cheese making supplies, and a good book selection covering homebrewing to baking.

A- A bit tight, but otherwise good atmosphere. There's also a walk in cooler in the back.

Q- The quality you see in most beer stores. An above average amount of room for refridgerated craft. A very nice feature was that literally everything was stickered and could be bought individually without wondering what the individual bottle markup would come to. I can say that I should have checked dates while shopping there, but I haven't got dinged on any of the IPAs I bought.

S- Service was pretty nice. All staff seemed to be above average in knowledge of products and most knew what they had in stock without needing to check.

S- The selection was quite possibly the best in Grand Rapids. I can say that I found more of what I was looking for in this store than the others that I checked. I was able to buy Stone IRS from 2010, and they still had a little under 3 cases when we left. I also found and bought the last of their Double Crooked Tree and found they had a great selection of Bells, Founders, and Shorts.

I'd say that if you only hit one place in Grand rapids, this would be the one you should hit.

Siciliano's has been my go-to for homebrewing advice and supplies since I started! The staff is always very friendly and helpful. They helped with my first decisions on kits and beginning equipment to creating and tweaking recipes.

They have a huge selection of single 12oz bottles and there always seems to be a new stack of 22oz bottles around. I've put together some great six-packs of Michigan beers, and was surprised to find some of my favorites from VT as well. They carry beers from all over the US and around the world.

If you're there for brewing supplies I suggest getting down to business as soon as you walk in, they'll hold your goods while you wander and browse the rest of the store. This is because the store is pretty small and you never know when someone will come in for a new brew kit and the step-by-step on how to make 10 gallons of Bud' Heavy right as you as for an opinion on a recipe...

The space and parking issues discussed in other reviews should be alleviated soon as Siciliano's is expanding into the rest of the building.

Atmosphere: The shelves are pretty close together, combine that with a few customers and there can be bit of claustrophobia in this store. The place can be a little...dirty would be the best word I can think of. The floors, shelves, and counters are just a little older, no big deal.

Quality: Siciliano's has a fair amount of cooler space, and then quite a bit of shelf space. The shelves are towards the back of the store out of sunlight, and the lights are pretty dim. A couple different walk in coolers to check out. Everything in the store is mix and match. I have seen some very old IPA's here though.

Service: Always greeted with a hello as soon I walk in the door. After wandering for several minutes I am always asked if I have any questions. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful.

Selection: For the Grand Rapids area, Sciliano's has an okay selection. Lots of locals and some harder to find stuff. That being said, I have never seen anything there that was super hard to find anywhere else, and they don't bring in a lot of new brews. I know there are some locals I can count on them to have, but most of the time their selection doesn't really appeal to me.

You want local, national, and international beer? They got it.

Want a good selection of wine? They got it.

How about homebrew supplies, tobacco, and coffee beans? They got it.

Just an excellent store and I had the good fortune to live less than 10 minutes away from it for years. Knowledgable staff that will suggest things for you and request speciality beers, and (sadly) up until recently an excellent pizza place next door.

If you're travelling to GR for Founders or any beer event, stop by Sicilano's. Nuff said.

Q- Lots of good stuff and you really can't go wrong coming here. They had a couple things I didn't see anywhere else on my trip.

S-Workers pointed out things I missed and answered all my questions about locations of certain items. Not much more of an interaction on this visit.

S-Good selection of all MI brews with some things I haven't seen elsewhere. Nice shorts selection as well as arcadia. Good amount of items in fridge and dry stored. Would definitely stop at again.

Easy to get to if you are ever in grand rapids. about 5 minutes outside Downtown GR
