On tap at BJ's in Sacramento, CA.
Pours a hazy orange-brown with a foamy beige head that settles to a small cap on top of the beer. Thin rings of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, earth, citrus fruit, and citrus zest aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus zest and slight grapefruit juice flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a low level of carbonation with an almost flat mouthfeel. Overall, this is pretty good beer with solid citrus forward hop characteristics all around.
Serving type: on tap.

Appearance - Pours a dark, clear golden orange with a white, 3 finger head. Good retention, resulting in a broken layer of suds across the surface. Lacing is sparse and spotty, but sticks well to the glass.
Smell - Primarily a citrus scent, with hints of pine and floral hop character. Toasted bread aroma sits beneath the hop .
Taste - Follows the nose. Orange pith bitterness upfront. Toasted bread and biscuit maltiness provides a strong backbone. Floral with touches of hop spice in the finish, along with a hint of butteriness.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with soft, tingly carbonation. Very smooth and inviting, going down with a remarkable silkiness.
Overall - A drinkable, well balanced IPA from ARBC. Hop Bomb seekers, look elsewhere. While this weighs in at a healthy 70 IBU's, the strong malt presence gives this more balance on the tongue than the numbers would indicate. With the quality of brews they deliver at a reasonable price point, ARBC is quickly becoming my favorite Sacramento area brewery. The Brown is to die for!
