Organic Munster Alt was a transluscent cloudy gold color. It had a good full head and the lace was decent. The aroma was a bit floral with hay and metalllic elements. The taste was dry, metallic, and citrusy (lemony) with some sweetness. It also had decent hop bite and good carbonation. A little yeastiness led to a dry, bitter finish. Not a bad beer and one worth trying again.

A: Mildly hazy honey colored (soft yellow-orange). Slowly recessing foam with large chunky bubbles, Two fingers tall when poured into a 1L mug.
S: Honey, white bread and honey malt aroma
T: grainy with a bread crust vibe. a bit of fruity, sweetness maybe from the ale yeast? earthy spice hop after taste.
M: moderate body and carb. very smooth
O: A very drinkable bier. My first Alt that wan't a Homebrew and it was much different then I expected. I could easily drink a Liter of this on a warm day, and to me thats a sign of a good German beer.

Poured into a Pinkus glass on 2/12/13
Dimmed golden straw color; rather clear. A one inch head of white, crackling foam is fed by constantly rising bubbles. Smooth, thinner retention. No lace.
Grass, straw, hay, floral and herbal hops are prominent in the aroma. Smells mildly spicy, too; maybe a little allspice? Toasted grains with a hint of biscuit.
The taste is similarly sharp in terms of the herbal grassiness of the hops; though it tames of time. There are some light juicy overtones especially in the middle. The malt bill is concise and dry. Biscuity malt fills out toward the end.
Light, juicy body with smooth, easy going carbonation. Grass notes linger on the finish.
I think this is my first proper German Alt. Pretty well enjoyable.

1pt, 9floz. served in a Dogfish Head pint glass
A - Pours a hazy orange color with an odd hue of green. Stark white sinks pretty quick.
S - Soured stone fruit, grapes, salty limes, hay, grain, faint sour berry aroma.
T - Stale grain, hay, chalky yeast, thin honey, faint peaches and general stone fruit. It turns more grassy in the middle and has a tangy sweetness to it. Finishes sweet and tangy.
M - Light thin body with low to medium carbonation.
A strange brew for sure. I almost thought it was brewed from lager yeast. Odd tangy notions that didn't blend well with a ho hum base beer. I like the fact that it's organic but this is a no go.

Pours a very hazy, dark golden yellow color with a one finger frothy white head that slowly settles into a lasting ring. Sporadic chunks of lacing left behind. Much lighter in color than expected for the style.
The aroma of this beer is extremely bland with some bready yeast, subtle pale malt and a very faint earthy hop presence. There's really not much else going on and it's hard to pick up anything except the yeast and faint grassy hops.
On the lighter end of medium bodied with an odd combination of bready yeast, grassy hops, citrus and astringent metal. Really weird and off style with a very watered down mineral like flavor. Some zesty spice, bready yeast, citrus peel and rusted tin. Bland and very unpleasant.

Poured from a 500 ml bottle into a stange.
A: Light golden hue. Heavy carbonation. Pours about a half finger, bubbly, white head. Settles quickly, but not completely. Fair sporadic lacing.
S: Fresh flora, bubble gum, molasses, and a little citrus.
T: Papery malt, with a certain plantlike character.
M: Light and crisp, with a lightly pungent and stale finish.
D: Session if you like.
Atmosphere is pretty solid. Nice hue, decent head, and plenty of lacing. Nose is full and floral. Flavor is of cardboard and fresh hay. Overall, this is a decent quaff.

1 pint .9 fl oz brown glass bottle with standard pressure cap acquired at KnB Wines near San Diego for $3.99 and served into a Uinta brewing pilsner glass in me gaff in Los Feliz, California. Reviewed live. Expectations are high given its current ratings.
Served refrigerator cold. Poured with standard vigor as no carbonation issues are anticipated. I quite like altbiers.
A: Pours a 1.5 finger beige colour head of some cream, pretty good thickness, and favorable retention. Colour is a clear pale yellow. No yeast particles are visible. No bubble show. Quite light for an alt. Fairly vibrant. I've seen far better looking beers in the style, but it's generally appealing.
Sm: Lime, lemon, salt, clean malts, artifical lime syrup, vague tequila, fresh citrus, full barley, vague lactic notes, and berry. A very interesting altbier aroma, though elements of it remind me of crappy Spanish lagers. I don't detect wheat at all. I'm intrigued, if suspicious. A pretty strong aroma.
T: Lime, lemon, and even some salt are all there. A bit gose-esque in that sense. Clean malts and full barley lend it some body. Some cream on the open. Lactic tang on the climax. Through it all, maybe a bit of middling wheat in the background. No yeast or alcohol come through. Not subtle or complex, but certainly...different. Alaskan Amber this is not. It's quite fresh - especially in terms of the clean pale malts and the lactic character. I do like it, but I can't place some of the notes. Hopping is background and vague; hardly noticeable.
Mf: Smooth and wet. A bit syrupy from the artificial crap I detect in it. (If it isn't artificial lime, that's even more of a problem. What real ingredient is causing this off-note?). Thickness is acceptable. Decent carbonation.
Dr: Drinkable but largely unremarkable. Worth trying for its intriguing build within the style, but otherwise forgettable. I'm not one to trust the organic health nut craze, and this is evidence of why. I like the freshness and the bold approach to the style, but it never enters any truly remarkable territory. I doubt I'd get it again.
High C+

16oz bottle, pours super pale gold, super clear, topped with a fizzy white head that holds decent retention and leaves some lacing on the glass. Aromas are grassy, biscuity, fresh, grape juice, apple juice. Tastes are crisp, very dry, tart, white grape, chardonnay, apple juice, grassy, delicate noble hops. Mouth-feel is thin and bubbly, finishes dry. Overall, this is different than any other altbier I've had. Definitely sessionable, but not for the price. I probably wouldn't get this one again.
