500mL poured into a pint glasss
Pours murky brown amber. Very little of a white head. This beer reminds me of a doppelbock mixed with an oktoberfest. The beer has massive caramel qualities and flavors that dominate the tongue. The beer has a nice dark fruit presence as well. There is a dark grain presence in this beer that is again, all toffee and caramel. The feel of this beer is velvety smooth and quite creamy. There is a slight tart fruit flavor in this beer as well. Overall, its a nice old fashioned German brew.

Appearance - murky brown body with khaki head
Smell - peanut shell, caramel, whole grains
Taste - caramel, nuts, bran, whole wheat bread
Mouthfeel - medium body, medium carbonation, slightest of sweetness, flavors are strong enough to not disappoint
Overall - this was a good version of a Munich Dunkel Lager
Price Point - $3.99/ 500ML bottle

500ml bottle poured into pint glass.
A - A cloudy dark brown with a thin head that lasted for less than a minute.
S - Not pleasant. Rancid grapes and other dark fruit. Not a wine fan and this is what it reminded me of. A bit of hop action.
T - Very disappointed. Tasted a lot of the wine aspects mentioned earlier. Was sour and dank. Did not like.
F - Ok. Nothing special, nothing bad. Very little carbonation but was crisp in a good way.
O - Was a drain pourer. Didn't improve as temperature rose. Overall, simply didn't like the sourness. Tasted as much like wine to me as beer. Not sure if this is normal for an organic beer. Either way, will not purchase again.

1 pint .9 fl oz brown glass bottle with standard pressure cap served into a Uinta pilsner glass in me gaff in low altitude Los Feliz, California. Reviewed live. Expectations are above average given its current ratings. Cost was $3.99. Acquired at a bottle shop near San Diego. I think it was KnB wines.
Served straight from the refrigerator. Poured with standard vigor as no carbonation issues are anticipated.
A: Pours a one finger khaki colour head of nice cream, nice thickness, and good retention. Colour is a pale translucent brown - very strange. Nontransparent. No yeast particles are visible. No bubble show. Not very appealing.
Sm: Nuts, cream, biscuit malt, sugars, and caramel. A light aroma.
T: Caramel dominates. Some nuts. Varied mid-range malts. Some amber and biscuit. Nicely balanced, albeit simple. I like it, but it's hardly impressive. Not special or unique. It's got some nice flavour. Hardly any subtlety or layering.
Mf: A bit overcarbonated. Smooth and wet, suiting the flavour nicely. A bit too thick. Too heavy on the palate for the lack of flavours.
Dr: Drinkable and enjoyable, but far from exemplary. I wouldn't get it again. Boring for the style, but definitely on the upper end of those I've tried. A bit pricey by German standards.

Clear brown colored beer with no real head formation.
Smell strongly of grain and toasted bread with a slight fig aroma. Mild noble hop scent with saffron and lemon scents.
Starts out mildly sweet and malty for a lager. Toasted grains with a little nut and molasses flavor. Nice smooth beer hop adds a little grass taste and a little lemon.
Mouthfeel is full for a lager.
Overall a pleasant easy to drink beer that I could see drinking almost anytime.

Poured into a tall wine glass. Color was a medium dark amber, with a thin dirty white head. Head lasted only a few minutes before leaving some lacings that clung to the sides. Reasonable amount of carbonation rose from the bottom in no particular pattern. Aroma was very slightly sweet, that shifted to a subtle malty grain. Flavor reminded me a slightly spicy/peppery wheat bread. Felt a tad thin and bubbly in the mouth. Overall not a bad beer. Well priced for an imported organic.

A- Dark brown, retains an o-k head.
S- Smells like toast and molasses
T- Sour, with a mild toasty flavor. The after taste is sweet and malty, like molasses or maybe maple.
M- Very refreshing, but not terribly light or watery.
O- A good beer, definitely worth trying, but lacks some of the toasty, bread-like quality I was hoping for. I don't think I'll get this beer again, even if it is organic, but I would like to try some other beers from this brewery.

affordable big bottle at old chicago on colorado boulevard. pours a very watered down looking light to medium brown color with a tan head comprised of huge bubbles, but they burst and retreat immediately. the glass may have been a little soapy still, so somebody comfirm this appearance. smells like chocolate malts and a bit of doughnuty sweet malt. flavor is the best asset, as it should be, with plenty of roasty and milk chocolately malt heft. no hops in here to speak of, and a quickly fading aftertaste. feel is on the weak side, light to medium body and fair carbonation. more body would do wonders for this beer. overall i liked this, unique flavor profile for a german beer, and its organic, so plus for that, but a bit more depth of feel could bring it up in my book.

Certified Organic. 500ml bottle.
It pours a nicely medium-dark brown with a huge foamy, creamy white head that slowly recedes with some nice lacing.
The smell here is extremely unique. Huge coffee notes dominate, not usually the norm for the style. It has a nice bit of brown sugar and noble hops as well. An interesting one, and I like it.
The flavor is much different. Lingering coffee notes but also some tartness. The tartness is right up front making me think I got a bad bottle. The nose wouldn't have hinted it at all.
This one started promising but unfortunately a bad bottle so beware.
And if they were trying to replicate an old-school beer then this flavor makes a lot more sense.

500ml bottle poured into a mug. The brew appears a light amber to burnt copper color with an initial surge of head that is a finger strong and slightly tanned. Rising bubbles of carbonation maintain a film across the top. Overall, it shows some decent clarity.
The aroma is caramel to toffee malt that is a bit buttery and includes some fruity to floral qualities. A bit of mineral inclusion and a slight tang of fruity alcohol becomes more noticeable towards the back.
The taste is caramel malt, a bit buttery and tangy with alcohol. Fruity to floral qualities come forward with a sweetness and minor hop touch. The finish is somewhat crisp with the sweetness lasting inside the mouth like buttery biscuit mixed with a bit of minerals.
This is a medium bodied brew with a moderate amount of carbonation. Overall it isn't bad but the tangy character of the alcohol I could live without. It seems a bit off for the style. Take that away and you have a fairly decent dunkel here.
