City Pizza's Tavern on Siesta

We visited City Pizza on March 3rd at about 3:30pm. There were only 2-3 other customers in the restaurant at the time. We were not directed where to sit, so we picked a table and sat down. After 5 minutes we noticed that the folks seated in the other section were being served, so we moved to that section. Apparently, there was only one waitress at that time of the day.

Once we were re-seated, the waitress came to our table quickly and offered us food menus. She also brought a beer list which was printed on plain paper and obviously is updated more often than the food menu, which appears not to have been updated in at least ten years. After taking our orders, the beer and pizzas were served relatively quickly.

The three people in our group discussed the appearance of the restaurant and agreed that the bar area with its large draft selection appears to be brand new. The whole restaurant appears to have just been renovated. While were were eating, another server came on duty. Another woman came into the restaurant and spoke with one of the servers. I overheard her say something about just being hired. So apparently the renovation includes new staff, but not the menu (yet, I assume).

The thin crust and Sicilian pizzas were both very good and we had plenty leftover to take home.

Hopefully City Pizza can continue with their new look and thrive. Perhaps next year we'll go back and see how they are doing.
