12 ounce bottle poured into a nonic style pint glass.
L: Light amber, slightly hazy, very lively, three inch off-white head, foam is thick and mousse-like and leaves lace
S: Hoppy and spicy, big rye aroma, citrus and fruity notes coming after
T: Hop forward and fairly clean, plenty of rye flavor, some caramel malt, dry bitter finish
F: Light-medium body, crisp with an underlying softness, carbonation is very high
O: Very nice flavor and aroma, good American Pale Ale with large rye character

Pours an effervescent amber with 2 fingers of cream colored head. Nice head retention and lacing
S: Bready with a touch of pepper
T: Follows the nose, dryness as well up front. More peppery rye, along with dryness and just a little citrus once warm. Finishes dry and peppery, with some breadyness
MF: Medium body, firm carbonation, stellar balance
Super drinkablity, nice take on this style

This was poured into a nonic pint glass. The appearance was a dark brown color with a white rocky foamy head. Took forever to dissipate. Mild stringy lace. The aroma had a sweet floral to herbal earthy malty flow to the hops which were slightly citrusy, woody and piney. The flavor yielded to the sweet side embracing all of the same tones of the aroma. Some caramel malts meld fine into the beer. Aftertaste was the blend of the malts to the floral/earthy portions. Finish was long and malty. The palate was about medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine. Overall, decent enough beer as is, but I was hoping for more rye, or some rye.

On tap:
Pours like a classic DIPA, even though it isn't - orangish golden. Translucent towards hazy body decent head with streaks of lace.
Nose is actually a little surprise with a citrus orange aspect to it. This does melt into the background after my initial whiffs, allowing the spicy and bready rye notes to come out. There is a strange Froot Loop fruitiness in some whiffs as the two notes components combine (maybe ambient effects).
Sure, there's a little of that citrus up front in the taste, but the hammer of rye comes swift and powerful. Spice and bitter drying notes are brought along this powerful wave. Some of the floral citrus hop notes ride the wave and come out the other side as flotsam (or maybe jetsam).
Make no doubt, rye is a big, no huge, part of this beer. The feel is a bit raw and dry to me because of this. I like it, though, as the hops probably apply some balancing note that isn't obvious just sipping it. If you're not a big fan of rye in beer, stay away. If you like that bite and dryness, grab it!

A: Hazy reddish brown in color with minimal cream colored head.
S: Sweet smelling with a slight citrus and sour notes.
T: Strong citrus taste. Very present hoppy bitterness rounded out by sweetness. Slight grassiness when it warms on the palate
M: Nice creaminess that broken up by carbonation to make it more refreshing.
O: Overall it is a nice middle ground rye pale ale. Well balanced and not over powering in any direction. Would make a nice choice to sip in front of a campfire.
