Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a hazy orange amber with a half finger white head that appeared to be dissipating quickly after the pour, but ended up being continually refreshed by active carbonation, light lacing. Aroma of Belgian / saison style yeast, light fruit, mild bready malt, slightly sour. Flavor is mildly sour pumpkin, bitter spicing, lemon citrus, saison yeast. Finishes moderately sour and acetic. Light to medium bodied with active carbonation. This is a different pumpkin beer, I'm not sure what they are aiming at here. The yeast tastes much closer to a saison/farmhouse yeast than a classic Belgian, but that may be due to the tartness. This came out on the heels of the Sour Belgo Pumpkin, so perhaps there was some overlap of yeast or production. I'm not a sour fan, so I skipped the Sour version; this is at my limits of interest with a toe hold into sour territory. Interesting, but I will gravitate towards a more traditional malty pumpkin next time. Recommended if you like a tart beer and want a well made, but idiosyncratic take on a pumpkin ale.
