This comes in a light amber color.

The taste is quite amazing for an American Adjunct. It has some hop and fresh flavors that gives it a lot more pop than other beers in the style. It even tastes more like non-adjunct lager.

It's by far the best adjunct lager I've had. If you see this at the bar and the other options are bad, this is definitely worth trying out. It really shows that the style does not have to atrocious.

Oh my, its sure has been a ling time since my last review. Been holding off due to the site changes. I'm an old school soul that takes dramatic change hard. The pace if technology, possibilities and constant changes with the many and complex social aspects creates a oroblem for me. I like to keep it simple, direct and personal. Sometimes you have to roll with it and adapt. Its only because i love the very foundation of what this site is based on do i bother to come back. Do i naturally like how the site looks, feels, operates now compared to say 2010...no. but who cares, ? I love beer, reviews and the work ut takes to create and maintain such a popular style site. Ih damn, its high time i review this beer currently getting warm because i'm typing in a tiny ass android key pad!

First off, i love the concept of historical recipes and beers brewed as such. I love historu and im an old soul in a young body. For sure.

The look is pretty nice. Amber, not yelliw or clear color. I always feel like a major comoany like millercoors might skimp out on certain aspects of a brew. No evidence of that here.

Aroma is a rather funky, musky, burnt sugar, earthy and sour delight. I really like how these aromas blend. The hop smell is very interesting

Flavor is actually pretty complex, with a unique,funk to the hop flavor. Sour and wheat_ earthy effect. Together, worth sipping and ponderig. The malt, thank god is not too sweet ir lingering. Balance can make or break a brew for me, this one imoresses.

Feel is good, no malty left overs, stays crisp but maintains a mouth complexity.

I think many will not be open to this beer simply because its from one of big boys. Judge it for what it is. Word.

Multidimensional, complex yet not overwhelming, full but not heavy, Batch 19 is a real option for a satisfying upgrade/premium staple beer. As one who tries local beers whenever I have the chance, I'm frequently disappointed when I get into an establishment that doesn't have a variety (e.g. a chain restaurant like Applebees, Chilis, etc.). I typically end up ordering a Sam Adams but am not happy with the heaviness and sweetness. Likewise, as a go-to option at home when I want a good beer without things getting complicated, I want something much more than a mainstream pale ale but not something extremely craft. Something complex but mainstream. Batch 19 seems to be the right beer for this niche, as it is probably the most consistent high-quality pour beer out of a mainstream production. MillerCoors got craft brewing on a large scale right on this one.

Excellent beer! Love the bold flavor but not too bold. I have to admit the packaging caught my attention. My first beer since I have been off crutches and it was a great new choice. I was surprised to find out it was Coors. I AM NOW A FAN OF COORS. Keep on making Batch 19.

Very unique and interesting bottle that appears to have the shape of a barrel molded into the neck. Poured a nice light copper that was bright at the bottom of the glass, but appeared just a little hazy just under the head which was quick to dissipate and did not last long. The smell was the familiar tang of American lager; tart, sour metallic tang mixed with sweet malts and barely noticeable hops. The mouthfeel is much thicker than any American style lager; sweet malt and maize dominate with some hop bitterness coming near the end; it feels almost under-carbonated compared to the "sting" that's expected with an adjunct lager.
All in all this is an enjoyable beer that tastes like something from a craft brewery. Not perfect, and it would be difficult to session a beer like this because of its tendency to become cloyingly sweet and thick in the mouth, but still something I would crave and enjoy drinking occasionally. A lot of pretentious snobs comment here that it tastes like a Coors product. They're full of baloney. If you put it in a micro-brew bottle and served it to them, they would not know the difference. If you see some at your local store, try it and see for yourself.

12 oz bottle. Pours a crystal-clear amber body with nearly an inch of off white head. Smells grainy and biscuity. Tastes biscuity, bready, and somewhat nutty with just a touch of grass and citrus to balance. Tastes good and is quite drinkable. Balanced and flavorful.

Coor's is quite capable of brewing good beer, too bad we waited so long. I highly recommend this one if you can find it cheaper than the 9.99 per six pack I paid, at this price point I'll grab something else. It's an exellent full flavored Lager -it says ALE on the side label?-
Why doesn't Coors just can this beer in 16oz only and retail them 9.99 it would be different.
Just as tasty as Anchor Steam Beer! nice but I bet this brand won't last long....

Found a single of this, have had before on tap at the MillerCoors HQ bar of all places.
Bright gold with a few stray trails of tiny rising bubbles. Thin layer of white foam on the surface, sparse bit of drippy lace on the opposite side of the glass. Thin broken veil of skim after first couple sips.

Bready buttered biscuit aroma, a little bit of yeast, mild and pleasant.

Lightly sweet malts, vaguely grassy noble hops, with a bitter carbonic bite in the end. Some astringency, gassy and light bodied. It's ok, fairly drinkable but ultimately nothing special. Wouldn't refuse at a party, but wouldn't buy it with so many better craft lagers in the market.

It pours a golden color with a frothy white head. Smells like your average American macro beer, with some corn and adjunct sweetness. Now the taste is where it gets interesting, up front I noticed a nice lemongrass bitterness along with the adjunct flavor, but the hoppy taste really stands out and isn't very noticeable in the aroma so it's a surprise when you taste it. It is light bodied with moderate carbonation and a dry finish. This beer kind ofcaught me off guard, It's way better than I thought, It looks and smells like any old beer but the flavor really makes up for it. I could actually see myself drinking this more often.

A: poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass, honey amber colored with a medium sized white head that dissipates leaving slight lacing, very clear

S: lots of grain smells, cereal, flour, biscuits

T: flavors of caramel, malt, grain, slight woody flavor

M: thinner but refreshing, neutral aftertaste

O: a pretty good American lager, don't shy away just because it is a Coors product, cool bottle but some idiot made it a twist top

Raul was on the beat and saw this at the spot and decided, why not?

Poured it in the nonic but it wasn't smellin like bubonic. Nah, not that sticky icky stuff. Taste? Yeah, it was aite. This is definitely an adjunct, but I respect it like Little Ceasar hot n ready special: you know you're not going to get the best, but hot dawg it ain't bad! (for what it is). And what it is, is a palatable adjunct. (Looks like dehydrated urine) but it's a palatable adjunct.

This beer is a great "anytime" beer. Though it has a slight "skunky" smell to it, its taste does not reflect that.

It is pretty highly carbonated and it's mouthfeel is light and thin. Upon a sip, the immediate flavor is sharp and slightly hoppy - almost a copper-flavored hop. It remains bitter from start to finish, but the flavor smooths through a hint of grassiness and ends on a grainy wheat flavor - which happens to be an attribute of most of my favorite beers.

Like another reviewer said, I think many people are rating this lower than it deserves simply because it is made by Coors. Of generic, run of the mill, canned beers, Coors ranks low for me. Maybe just about Natty Ice. This doesn't even taste reminiscent of typical Coors and it is worth a shot. I definitely stand with the Brothers rather than user average on this one.

Poured a straw-amber color into a glass with a ~1/3" head. Smells of malts and the cheap smell of the typical macrobrew.

Tastes alright. it tastes grainy upfront then leaving a fun amount of bitterness until well after I swallow the sip. Slightly malty but overall bitter. This beer tastes better than I expected it to after smelling it.

Beer feels crisp and light.

This beer is OK. I'm not to sure when I would actually want to drink this beer or what food I would pair it with, and so on. It is a microbrew take on macrobrew ingredients that accomplishes its goals better than other premium macrobrews (e.g. Bud black crown, Becks sapphire) that taste like the only thing they have done is raised the ABV.

Is this really an adjunct, or is this an American Pale Lager? If it's truly made with adjunct grains, then it's the best adjunct I've ever had by far.

I feel like people are giving this poor reviews just because it's Coors. This is a really good beer. Not quite Full Sail Session, but damn close.

A: Golden-brown, minimal head, pretty meh lacing.

S: Ugh, smells like a Coors product. Adjunct city.

T: Tastes like a Coors product too, but like someone was playing a trick and threw too much bittering hops in there. Salty carbonic finish.

M: Thin bodied, prickly carbonation, sticky metallic finish.

O: This beer taught me a lesson: Look at who the damn brewer is before you buy the product. Coors once again proves it can't make a decent beer.

Update: Tried the beer a second time upon getting home after having a few (much better) beers at the bar. It was even worse than the first bottle this afternoon. Drainpour. Must update ratings. How the Beer Bros rated this a 90 I have NO idea.

The missus found this at the Winn-Dixie for me, one she hadn't seen before, and I one had not seen either.

Poured into a pint class. Nice white froth that quickly vanished into the aether. Smells like sweet corn, grassy, not much else going on. Very light amber color. The taste is something between a bitter pilsner and a sweet, somewhat heavy lager. More corn, veggie sweetness up front, but the dry hops kick in on the end, and for me that bitterness is what saves this beer from being a corn-syrupy mess.

At times it reminds be of Coors' Banquet Beer but with more body and sweetness.

Appearance: golden amber in color with a wispy 1/4" head that broke apart in seconds.

Smell: a bit of a sweet and herbal aroma was a bit off putting here.

Taste: light caramel flavor with some grainy malt sweetness, some grass, and a mild hop bitterness created somewhat of an off balanced and sweeter than exepected lager.

Mouthfeel: light in body. Light crispness to start, smooth at the finish. Relatively clean aftertaste.

Overall: this one was hard to finish after the first few swigs. Didn't know this was a Coors product until I looked it up, but it was disappointing from the the first sip.

12oz bottle poured into a tapered pilsner glass.

A-Pours a golden color, minimal head, no lacing. There's plenty of lively carbonation (the best part of its appearance). Truthfully, this beer looks dirty.

S- Very grainy, stale. There is some note of a sweet candy but it is made up of smells that are just hard to get past the nose.

T- Grassy, wet grains, some caramel malt sweets...at best.

M- Watery, well carbonated. Sour finish.

O- It looks, smells, and tastes dirty. Were there no sanitation standards pre-prohibition? There is nothing good about this beer, and I am being polite and kind.

Macro swill disguised as craft or something more? Let's give it a whirl.

A: Fairly aggressive pour. Faint orange/copper hue. Excellent clarity. Vigorous carbonation. Two fingers cappuccino foam colored head. Moderate dissipation. Moderate lacing. Intrigued by the color.

S: Ah. Adjunct. Or at least some adjunct smells. Faint hop presence, almost like cooked veggies. Not quite to the level of Euro Pales, but in a similar vein. Nice caramel malts, touch of honey, bit of corn husk, slightly metallic.

T: Nice bit of malty sweetness up front, with a nice, dry hoppiness that cuts through. Again, borderline vegetal, but the hops are very present here. Reminds me of the pre-Gusto Shclitz. Corn flakes/dough in the finish.

M: A little softer in the palate than pretty much any AAL I've ever had. The carbonation isn't so bracing or seltzer like.

O: A hoppier and fuller bodied AAL? Unfortunately, this falls in the same price range as Sierra Nevada beers where I live, so I'll probably never buy it again. Make it as cheap as regular Coors and I've got a new go to. A much better swing towards quality than Shocktop or the like.

Bottle served into a British Pub style glass.

appearance- A light, golden caramel color, clear and easy to see through, small foamy head that dissipates quickly, no lacing

smell- almost and cereal bready smell to the beer, slight bite of corn, almost no detectable hop aroma

taste- cereal grains with touch of sweet maltiness, a bit of hop bitterness in the middle, which fades out to leave a corn and doughy flavor in the end

mouth feel- very light beer in the mouth, acidic feeling on the palate

Overall- Found this beer as an okay sessionable beer, a basic flavor that is drinkable but nothing to get you out of your seat for

Pours a crystal clear golden amber, moderate cap of frothy white foam. Scent leads with fresh dried cereal grains and sweet malted barley, some grassy hoppyness and a touch of citrus rind, finishes with a bit of fresh corn on the nose. Taste follows scent - both fresh and malted grains, moderate hop presence and touch of vegital taste. Medium bodied, surprisingly creamy for the style. Overall, was pleased with the scent and flavor profiles and the body of this beer.

A - Dark amber body. Clear with loads of rising carbonation. A fingers worth of soapy white foam with...actual lacing and retention!!!

S - Cereal grain, sweet corn, caramel malt and a touch of English style hops. Sweet and malty, light and pleasant.

T - Cereal grains with an astringent corn finish. Oddly enough there is a light hop bitterness to the beer. A very confused flavor profile. The bitterness eventually fades away laving some bready dough.

M - Light bodied yet creamy, nice carbonation.

O - Looks great, smells nice, tastes a bit odd. Coors actualy brewed a beer that I sort of enjoyed, nice!

Poured into a shaker pint.

A deep golden coin color that had a white head on top, and good lines of lacing come to. A sweet and malty nose. A taste that's heavy on grains, malts, and a surprisingly good hop presence. A mouthfeel that is almost creamy. Not a bad experience. If they put this in a can, I'll definitely buy it as a camping beer.

5.5% ABV confirmed. Best by May 27 2013. Acquired at Wally's Wine in Westwood earlier tonight. Reviewed live. Expectations are low given the brewery, but I've heard this isn't half-bad actually. 12 fl oz brown glass bottle with an awesome bubbled-out grip on the neck and a branded pressure cap served into an Oskar Blues pilsner glass in me gaff in low altitude Los Feliz, Los Angeles, California.

I love the bottle and like the label.

Served straight from the fridge. Side-poured with standard vigor as no carbonation issues are anticipated.

Not paired with food.

A: Pours a one finger beige colour head, with little cream, of bad thickness and bad (~1 minute) retention. Body colour is a clear translucent pale yellow-copper. No yeast particles are visible. No bubble show. Looks a lot better than many other Coors products. No overt flaws. Standard fare.

Sm: Caramalt, light toasted malt, and generic floral hopping. Grainy, with some bland grassy notes as well. Pleasant and understated. A light to average strength aroma. No yeast character or alcohol is detectable.

T: Crystal malt. Caramalt. Clean barley. None of the straw or watery character typical of the style. I don't even get any corn. Floral hop character is timid but welcome. A nice graininess forms the bulk of the body. Some light grassy character, but it's bland. Overall, it tastes like a bad amber - which isn't half-bad for an American adjunct lager. A bit too sweet. It does have flavour. I wouldn't say I like it, but it's surprisingly tolerable and pleasant. Most notably, I can't find (and by find, I mean identify precisely) the adjunct in this adjunct lager; that's quite an achievement.

Mf: Smooth, wet, and chewy. Smoothness is artificial and off-putting. Carbonation is near perfect, to its credit. It has more body than I expected from a beer of its style, but it still comes off thin and weak.

Dr: Quite drinkable. Fit for beer pong; far more-so than other beers in the style. It's definitely one of the better adjunct lagers I've had, but it lacks the buttery feel of other "good" adjunct lagers. A lot of reviewers will attack this beer merely because of the brewery, but I'm confident if you hosted a blind taste test of crappy budget brews, this would take the top spot. And I think that says a lot. Hides its average ABV well. I'd get this again if I were at a macro-only bar. This is up there with Miller High Life as a go-to for power hours. Call it a guilty pleasure.

nice orangish-peach color, decent-looking, smallish amount of head.
smells of some sweeter-like malts with some hop balance.
tastes sweet up front, with some hop bitterness at the finish. a decent taste.
medium to heavy feel on the tongue.
overall.... idunno.... where do THE BROS get a 90? but i am pleasantly surprised to find this is a coors product. they've apparently figured out what it takes whereas buttwiper continues to put out 'gourmet swill'... the bottle looks great, the label is intriguing, the beer is very decent. the lacing is a bit thin but this is easily a brew one can drink a couple of in a row.
