Pours with a frothy tan colored head the starts out 1.5 fingers thick. The beer is a brilliantly clear amber color that shows deep ruby notes when held up to the light. The aroma is soft, yet fruity like cherries with a caramel sweetness and a hint of toasted malt type notes. The taste has a hint of sweetness up front. The body is quite light, but there is still quite a bit more than one would expect to have in a macro. The beer has a hint of that sweet cherry character that was found in the nose, but mostly this beer is quite malty with notes of caramel & toffee and perhaps even a note of lightly burnt raisins. It finishes with a nice solid bitterness and a bit of herbal astringency.

This is of course nice and clean and I am almost sure that the fruitiness in this case is from a combination of the hint of hops and the malt character. Decent beer, made all that much more interesting by the fact that Coors was brewing this beer long before Sandlot existed.

12 oz bottle pours a clear amber with a decent creamy off white head that leaves some lacing in my glass. Aroma of fruits and nuts, bready caramel flavors, medium bodied with a kind of watery mouthfeel, finishes with a mild sweetness, an average American Amber Ale.

Appearance: Hard pour into a pilsner glass reveals a ruby-red brew topped by a light brown head with some degree of staying power. Minimal carbonation or lacing, but not too bad.

Aroma: Smells like a Coors - that sharp aroma of hops and adjunct. Some amount of malt but it's faint.

Taste: Watery hops, faint bits of malt. No spice like I expected from a winter ale. This is essentially coors with red food coloring in it.

Mouthfeel: Thin and as vaporous as the taste.

Drinkability: This might be better straight from the bottle and ice-cold.

Picked it up just for schlitz and giggles.

Nice deep red body with a slight brown tint, small tan head formed but disappeared and left no real lacing.

Smell is thin. Slight must and marshmallow hints with a slight malt backbone. Not offensive in the least really, a touch of phenols as it warms.

Taste is a bit thin as well. Nice slightly roasted taste with a faint spice and nut flavor. A lot better than what I thought it was going to be for sure.

Although a bit bland for a winter brew, it is fairly drinkable. Best thing I've had with Coors name on it, good price too at under $4.50 a sixer.

This beer seems like it came from an alternate universe... a universe in whichthe Macrobreweries decided to brew ale instead of lager. That's the best way to describe this beer. Coors Ale is to real ale as Coors lager is to real lager. You can tell that this is an ale, but there's something about it that's just off. It has a metallic taste, and the ale bitterness seems fake. Try this beer if you've ever wondered what the macros would be like if they were ales.

Coors Winterfest pours a dark red from a 12oz dark brown glass bottle with a twist of cap. Head goes to over two fingers in my 16oz glass beer tumbler. Very nice lacing, in fact this is one of the best lacing I have yet to see in any beer review.

Nose is... or is not, I’m not getting a lot to go by with the nose at all, if anything, I am getting just a hint of licorice and faint pine.

Palate is about as bland as the nose, not a lot going on here either. Coors Winterfest starts with a smooth malt like experience with good visual cue's, but gives no satisfaction. The carbonation is on stage next and is well represented, but with no other flavors to complement and no umph of it’s own, disappoints.

Maybe next year... maybe next year I’ll have something to look forward to.

Poured from the bottle, it formed a decent head that lingered for a while then settled into a fine partial layer.

The smell of this deep gold brew is pretty malty but not all that exciting.

The taste is a decent balance of hops and malt with the malt lingering in the aftertaste quite well.

Overall, a good product from Coors that doesn't exactly titilate the taste buds but *is* quite drinkable.

PS: This is the first Winterfest I've seen for many years. If memory serves me well, the first editions of this product were much more complex.

This was a clear amber beer with a modest sized head. The coolest thing about it was the label... overprinted on cracked ice holographic paper.

The aroma was weak... and what little there was was of skunky hops. Not that appealing.

The taste wasn't that bad though, compared to most other Coors offerings. It was lightly malty, with a light hoppy finish, and was very subtle.

Overall, probably the best brew with the Coors name. Much better than the regular or light.
