I love the look and feel of 50 Local. Even from the outside it's inviting. The windows that line the sidewalk have been carefully decorated to allow a view inside but still allow the diners inside privacy from being gauked at by passers by. Seating for about 50 is split between tables for 2, 4, 6, or more lounge type seating just inside the door. The bar seats about 15 and is always consumed with lively conversation between the locals that gravitate there before or after work.

Terrific food from a very talented chef that makes sooo much from himself, even charcuterie. Some might consider the menu pricey, but if you happen to be there on $2 Tapas Tuesdays you'll enjoy yourself AND fit it in your budget.

I wish the best to 50 local, especially because the chef/owner is a total beer geek and works very hard to support the craft beer movement even without a tapping system. Sometimes serving only bottles offers opportunities - LOTS of beer in Maine doesn't come in kegs.
