The appearance was a semi-clear burnt orange close to copper color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that sustained and slid off at a moderate pace. Sly lace. The aroma had some toast, caramel/toffee malt, red apples, light soap, some dark fruits, driftwood and a little of earthy hops. The flavor recognized the sweetness up front fairly well with a bitter sturdiness running about it. Aftertaste felt fine with the malts doing the justice of the sweetness and then gliding into the finish fairly nice. The feel was about medium bodied with a good sipping quality about it. Carbonation came across fairly well. ABV felt appropriate. Overall, not bad as a clean beer just to drink for the hell of it, but does miss some of the Belgian spices I normally get in this style.

On cask at Mug's Ale House. Competent Belgian beer, not getting strong whiskey, this is still a sipper. Smooth mouthfeel but not super drinkable for me.

Cask at Mugs Alehouse, Brooklyn, NY
A: The beer is very cloudy caramel in color and somewhat resembles apple cider. It poured with a quarter finger high dense beige head that died down, leaving wisps of lacing on the surface, a collar around the edge, and some patches of bubbles down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of Belgian yeast are present in the nose along with strong notes of whiskey and hints of cascara.
T: The taste follows the smell, but isn't as yeasty and has stronger notes of cascara along with hints of spices.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very interesting and complex, although the taste is nothing like you would expect from a dubbed. I liked the whiskey flavors and the spices imparted by the yeast.

Warm, clear dark copper in color with moderate head. Aroma tends toward bubblegum and sweet spice. Moderate bubblegum flavor balanced by perfumey and fruity sweetness. Blood orange, tart pear, and finishes with lightly perfumed grass.
