Notes:
Prairie Standard is our everyday beer. Its a light, crisp saison with a hoppy finish. This beer is dry hopped 1lb per bbl with Motueka hops. A lovely New Zealand hop with a spicy lime like flavor and aroma.

Served in Prairie Artisan Ales glassware - nice! Looks great, clear goldenrod with an inch-thick cap of white foam that lays down a few rings of lace. Excellent balance of flavors - tropical fruits, honey, pepper, clove, and a punch of spicy hops. Malt is clean with a light sugar cookie sweetness and rustic cereal flavor. More refined than the bottled version. A sessionable, flavorful, locally brewed saison. What's not to like? A new go-to at better beer bars.

Pours out to a thin white permanent head and no lasting lace (do any beers that come out of Krebs have much lacing?) Aroma is a spicy, yeasty and hoppy blend with hints of citrus. Flavor is where it shines, with complex blend of the tastes associated with the aforementioned aromas. Spicy, fruity but not very sweet at all. Zesty, spicy finish. This beer has Moutueka hops and it shows (see note below). Mouthfeel is light and the beer has a nice CO2 bite.
Personal note: This reminds me of a New Zealand-made hopped extract beer kit that I brewed in the first year I started homebrewing. I think it was called Black Rock. It was a pale, dry beer that was lightly hopped with Moutueka hops and due to the high fermentation temperature that summer in my apartment it had a yeasty character. The yeastiness of this beer coupled with the distinctive aroma and flavor of the hops reminds me very much of that landmark brew of the Summer of 1995.)
Nostalgia aside, this beer is very well made and is world-class.

Served from a 12oz bottle into a Smuttynose tulip big beer glass.
Appearance- Hazy golden with a quick half-finger of off white head. Mild lacing.
Smell- Musty/bready yeast, tart lemon rind, floral hops, earthy herbaceousness. Fairly "typical" saison aromas.
Taste- There's a lot going on here. Starts off with a lightly tart orange or lemon flavor which quickly fades to a hoppy and malty full-bodied farmhouse. Bready yeast, earthy hops, light citrus. Lots happening.
Mouthfeel- Quick bubbly carbonation. Smooth and crisp.
Overall- A nice hoppy sessionable saison. I'm glad I finally got around to trying this one.

12oz bottle, part of a trade thanks to Newkidroundhere
Really solid label work first off, love the details of noodlin on the front! Pours a cloudy yet vibrant hay color. White head pillows up from some good carbonation.
Aroma is interesting. Salty tang-like phenols, spice, sweet coriander mixed with some lemon peel. There's a grassy, floral hop character that melds in as well. Reminiscent of the modern Belgian IPA.
Palate is mild, fruity, slightly bitter in the finish. Slightly tart up front, funky, sweet lemon, fruit esters, mild tropical fruit.
Moderately high carbonation, slight bitterness in the back. Dry finish, with a near salty aspect to it. And no I did not eat any salty foods prior to this tasting.
Overall, really solid beer. At first, I did not much care for it, but it really grew on me throughout the tasting. Love the take on the style, shows hops do have a place in the Saison style.

A: Pours a light golden color with just a tinge of haze to it. A one finger white head fades pretty quickly.
S: A sweet, slightly funky aroma that smells amazing. Green apple, hay, lemon pepper, grassy hop notes, vanilla and some caramel malt. Smells really great.
T: Lemon, some light bready malt, green apple skin, chardonnay grapes, a touch of funk, white pepper and a lingering grassy hop note. Ends on a slightly peppery and dry hop note. Could use just a touch more carbonation, but a really nice saison.
