On-tap 1/8/2013 at Track 84, in Warwick, RI served in a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a light gold color, with a short off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains citrus, floral hops and light caramelized malts.
T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of citrus and caramel. Then a nice hops bitterness comes in quickly. The malt character is hearty but not too heavy and brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.
M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
O: Very tasty, goes down quite easily, not too filling, decent kick, very good representation of style, this is a very nice IPA to pound down for a long time.

On draft at Wickenden. 1l into glass mug.
2 fingers of head. Nice lacing, pretty dense snow-like head. Beer has a dull yellowy orange hue.
Nose is of peppermint and pine needles. Subdued. But that could be due to serving temp (ice cold). EDIT - as it warms the nose becomes stronger.
Bitter pith, grapefruit and orange rind. Very bitter, lingering. Yes, please. Cascade? Chinook? I can't place it. Reminds me of a SNPA on steroids. Not much malt in the grand scheme of things, this is dry compared to Trinity IPA- and tastier than Storm's Fox Point.
Crisp, clean finish. Smooth and tasty. I want more.
I wasn't sure about this at first, but over the last few days this has become my go-to beer here at the Wickenden Pub. I like it- a great first effort from Foolproof. This beer had put them on my radar for sure. Bring on the cans!
EDIT: 2nd batch tasted better than the first. Will revise my score if it holds for next time.

Consumed 3/8/13
Appearance: Deep gold with some copper highlights - small, off-white head, fades quickly to a nonexistent cap - leaves a few tiny spots of lacing
Smell: Interesting hop profile - dry pine needles - orange and grapefruit rind, pith - some grapefruit flesh in the background - grassy and herbal - some caramel malts in the back
Taste: Unexpectedly aggressive - oily citrus, rind and pith - pine needles, grass, and aspirin - very bitter - minimal sweetness, which is a plus here - some dry caramel malts - an earthy undertone
Mouthfeel: Medium body, crisp, slightly sticky in the finish
Overall: Interesting, but not a showstopper
Maybe this should be enjoyed in a lawn chair in your backyahd. It has some citrusy hops, but it is also remarkably grassy. In some ways, the grassy and earthy notes are reminiscent of an APA. This just has a bigger hop profile. Worth a try.

No date, but the cans have only been around for two or three weeks.
A: Thick, fluffy head leaving thick lacing.
S: Floral and herbal hops, maybe a hint of tropical fruit.
T: Herbal, almost leafy hops, some fruitiness from the hops. Honey or caramel sweetness in the malt, but this is not a malt-forward IPA. Subtle yeast. Nice lingering and bracing dry bitterness on the finish.
M: Low carbonation, which I appreciate.
O: It's nice to get an IPA at 6 percent.

Poured from a 12 oz can into a tulip. Purchased in Wakefield, RI a few days after receiving it, so it's super fresh.
A- Pours an ever so slightly hazy light golden body with a thick bubbly white head that reduces very slowly to some chunky, frothy foam that leaves some super thick lacing. Beautiful, a near picture perfect IPA.
S- Super fresh smelling. Very floral with citrus, honey, pine, and resin.
T- Pine and citrus rind sitting on a caramel malty backbone. Sticky hop and resin notes linger on the tongue for a few minutes.
M- Medium carbonation, medium body. Easy drinker.
I was pleasantly surprised with this new brewery's interpretation of the classic American IPA. It's quite flavorful and has a very good balance of hop zing and malt character. On a scale of tropical/fruity to resinous/piney, this would be on the resinous/piney side.
From the first smell to the last sip, this is a very enjoyable brew to put down. Well done, Foolproof.
