Let me repeat that. WOW.
Simply incredible selection and it apeared that there was a guy stationed in the beer section just to answer questions. Just about everything was kept cold (a problem for someone in the middle of a 3,000 mi road trip, but not for anyone else) with a special section dedicated to Avery products (Avery is less then a mile down the way).
A know-it-all chatterbox of a customer was in front of me when I went to ask a question, but we are rating the venue, not the clientelle of the venue. Once I got to speak to the beer guy on duty he was knowledgeable and freely admitted that lambics and fruit beers were not exactly his specialty (fair enough).
Unfortunately I did not buy anything from Liquor Mart due to the cold beer and having 7 more states to drive through but I left very jealous of anyone who lives nearby.

Just recently had the privilege of visiting Liquor Mart. The beer department could not be more knowledgeable (and attractive I might add! The beer dept. is filled with studs!) or offer a better selection. This place is pure perfection and heaven in the form of a liquor store.
HIGHLY recommended if you're into good prices, great selection and sexy beer department employees.

Stopped here on my trip across the country, sidetracking my way up to Boulder from Denver. Thankfully this place is open early (8 AM, I think), as I was just finished breakfast and wanted to load up on some fine Colorado beers on the way out. This had every CO beer I was hoping to come across. They also had a great selection of East and West Coast stuff and a decent European section. I loaded up on all of the La Folies they had in the cooler and asked if they had anymore. The staff was very helpful and found some more for me. The guy at the register was great, talking up some of the beers I was purchasing. There's a 20% discount for 6 packs of singles, so that was a no-brainer. If I'm ever in the Denver / Boulder area again, I'll swing by.

Liquor Mart how do I love thee, let me count the ways.
This is one of the best beer stores in the US, sure there are places that are cleaner or larger or have "more" beers or better service.
But for the true beer hunter this place is El Dorado.
During my two years in grad school and on numerous trips back to CO since, Liqour Mart consistently had a selection of numerous fantastic beers that I'd never seen before. For a while the buyer was on this quest for British porters, I got to try ten or so from small brewers across the UK. Then it was Scandinavian beers. Then they had an insane barely wine selection. One time they had like 12 different Belgian Christmas beers, Fantome Noel, De Dello Stille Natch, Gouden Carolus Noël, etc...
You won't be disappointed by the beer selection here or the wine, and booze selection for that matter.
The service here is good but does suffer a bit from the regular CU undergraduate mobs that assault the place on weekends and before games.

I will have to disagree with most people on service. The guy in charge there was extremely helpful and gave us a lot help. He pointed out a lot of good beers and we ended up with some nice beers we can't get back in NY. They had some pretty rare beers there and I'll have to go back again before I leave. I found the beers to be a bit cheaper than back in NY also. They had most of the beers in cooler displays and some in the back of the cooler also. Their belgian selection is decent, but I think we have more at home. A good beer store all around though.

I love this store. Just break out your ID and show it to the ID man at the door and then you're good to go. I'm from California and am not used to the create your own 6 pack pack. I got the create your own 6 pack so I was able to try different CO beers. My mission was to try new CO beers, but if I was a local I'd probably wish to see more of a Belgium selection. Service is good here. While shopping, a few people offered help. You can even play in the refrigerated section. I recommend Odells IPA!!

I've only been to Liquor Mart once while visiting friends in Boulder a couple months ago. But, I'll just say this...our friends don't call it Liquor Mart...they call it Mecca.
We didn't experience any service issues, but only having been there once I don't feel I can comment on the overall customer service. The checkout girl was very sweet and yes we got carded...but that is no big deal to me. I don't blame them for carding everyone after having worked in a convenience store in a college town when I was a student.
Mecca has a very impressive collection of brews and wine. I found quite a few west coast beers I can't get on the east coast and I was able to add a few new bottle caps to my collection.

This use to be a regular shopping stop when I lived in Longmont a few years ago. I still stop in regularly when I'm in town, about every other month. As beer merchants in Colorado go, you'll be hard to find any place that regularly out competes any others when it comes to price. Selection, however, is a different story. Local residents may not realize how good this place is when compared to others around the country. The bomber choices are phenomenal and while a build your own six may be pricey, there are few other places that offer the variety of singles (not to mention the advantage of getting to sample beers from styles from which I'm hesitant to buy a six). The service is usually good, depending on who is in that day. The biggest ding, as if it mattered, is the atmosphere. It still retains the old grocery store look and can feel a bit on the grungy side. Never the less, worth a visit if your in town.

I only had the opportunity to stop at two beer stores on my trip to Colorado. I'm certainly glad I stopped here first, this place was amazing.
The store is pretty large, supermarket sized really. The beer is located in the right hand side of the store on the wall with wine and liqours located in the middle. There was a TON of singles located on the shelves. The sixers were stored in refrigerated storage along the wall. The single selection was amazing and included an incredible amount of brews from Colorado microbreweries. I bought a fair amount of beer here, if it wasn't for the single selection I would not have gotten as much as I did.
Good service too, several people attempted to help me find several beers and made some recommendations. My only compaint was a weak belgian selection. Good prices really. Singles anywhere from 1.35-1.75 ea, and a 20% discount on a mixed-sixer.
A must stop if you have limited room to bring back a mix of beer.

This was my second time to the store. My family vacations in Lyons, CO and I take on eafternoon to visit to stock up on beers I cannot get back in MO.
This place fits my needs exactly. Big selection (one stop shopping); make your own six; almost all the local brewers are repesented; lots of seasonal and special offerings; and prices you can live with, although price is not my concern on this trip.
The staff leaves you alone, but is very helpful and friendly if you have questions. No frills, but who wants bells and whistles in a beer sotre. All beer is in store away from any windows and all higher end products kept in coolers. Beer care seems to be high priority. Also appears to have good turn over because all products with freshness dates were recent.
Do not forget that the belgium selection is aroung the corner of the cooler form the micro section. I can cetainly recommend this location. Fun place to look around and maybe find a gem to add to your beer cellar.
