First tried this at Mundelein Beer Fest ant thought it might be worth a later try. So I picked up a bomber. Meh.
Poured into a pilsner a light clear golden straw with minimal head and minimal lacing. Not a lot of nose. The mouthfeel was surprisingly thick but the flavor was underwhelmingly one-dimensional: HOPS. Not the rich, piny resinous complexity, just a sharp, bitter slap. The finish trails off quietly. You think it's gone but the aftertaste is a bitter chemically whang that hangs on for a while, forced home by the carbonation.
Not a bad beer, just deeply unbalanced hop-bomb without even a pretence of malt backbone to counter the bitterness.

Murky muted orange with little to no head. Aroma is of nectarine and citrus. Taste starts with pretty nondescript fruit and decent wallop of bitterness, some slight grass, and then cereal. Ends with a citrus rind bitterness. Body is medium. I appreciate the bitterness, but not much else going on here.

Unknown vintage; drank 1/17/16 @ the Yarchives.
Semi-opaque dull orange rust appearance.
A rough pour yielded a small white head; nice lace.
Banana, mango & stale trash water notes in the nose. Uh oh...
Medium thick mouthfeel.
Banana & mango flavors up front; burnt caramel & stale trash water notes on the finish.
I'm hoping this was really old?!

Bought from my local beer shop. Drank out of a Transient Artisan Ales teku glass.
Look: Poured with two fingers of offwhite head, the body is golden, solid ring lacing. solid amount of medium speed down-up carbonation.
Smell: A big wallop of tropical fruit, pine, sharp grapefruit rind, sweet malt and a bit of a punch from alcohol.
Taste: Citrus rind, ripe melon, mango, shove of bitter pine, sweet cereal malt on the back end.
Feel: Medium bodied, delicate, slick/oily mouthfeel, finishes dry.

Pours a hazy turbid matte golden color. Thin white head dissipates rather quickly leaving some spotty bubbly foam. Head is disappointing for an IPA and certainly will detract from the aroma.
Smell is extremely subdued and its hard to pick out the aroma. There are some notes of orange juice, grass and a vegetal smell.
Taste is extremely bitter - almost no fruit, a flavor that tastes like a slightly bad orange, lots of grass, very bitter, vegetables - like broccoli? - Mild bitterness. Mildly dry finish.
Feel is mild carbonation up front. Smooth, easy drinking. pretty unremarkable otherwise.
This is a very average IPA - its not bad, but its certainly not above average.

11/21..pours hazy copper, medium dark, with a white foam layer that laces. Grassy nose, floral with citrus. Taste is a twisting pattern of citrus and bitter. Lemon pepper mouthfeel. Mix of flavors.

I don't know about this one.....it poured a somewhat clear copper with thin white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent is more malty with a hint of orange peel spice. The taste is malt at the front then finishes slightly bitter. The mouthfeel is medium in body with poor carbonation. Overall the absence of carbonation makes it like a firkin style beer much like one you buy from a pull in England....if that what the goal is...then its not too shabby....if not then the absence of carbonation leaves this beer lacking.

I prefer an "over" hopped IPA. Which this is not. However, I stopped by the brewery when they were bottling. So I stayed and helped. This beer is year round on many shelves throughout the city. 6 packs around 10 bucks. Good price for this beer. Slightly discounted........I say.
