Bodacious Bock is a traditional German Spring Bock. Three organic malts are employed to give a complexity which hints of honey. Only German noble hops from the Hallertau region were used for the soft floral component. It was decoction mashed. This is a strong beer, imbiber beware!

16oz can from Buckeyeboy. Copper colored pour, mild haze, thin cap of foamy head. Sweet, toffee malts in the aroma. More sweet malts in the taste, slick, oily, kind of sticky at the finish. Really solid.

The appearance is copper-brown. The smell suggests maltiness. The taste is some malty sweetness followed by some bitterness. Overall enjoyable though the alcohol content on this one is certainly up there.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a hazy amber color with a one finger head of just off white foam. The head has a decent level of retention, slowly fading to leave a light level of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the beer is strongest of a bready and slightly grainy smell mixed with a decent showing of a lemon and sour funk smell. Along with these aromas comes some lighter notes of a sweet orange and apricot as well as a bit of a grassy hop aroma.
Taste – The taste begins with a mix of a grainy and quite sour taste with a good deal of funk and some lemon. There is a little bit of a sweet fruit taste upfront, with this flavor fading rather fast and giving way to even more sour of a lemon and apple cider vinegar flavor. Toward the end some more funk and grass come to the tongue, bringing with them even more sour and leaving one, in the end, with a very sour (for a bock) flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is rather thin for a 7.5 % abv with a carbonation level that is rather average. While the light body really is not great for the bock style, in light of the very sour tastes of the brew, it actually kind of works and makes it a little easier drinking.
Overall – Way too sour for me for the bock style. Not what I was expecting at all. No really balance and not one I will go to again any time soon.

Added this beer because I saw WIldwood only had one beer on here. The brewery itself is awesome and the master brewer usually is the one working the taps at the bar. He can tell you everything about the beers and make a good suggestion depending on what other beers you like. The Bock is my favorite, a nice strong taste and smell to it. If you are in the area check it out his beers are much better than the one other review indicates.
