I liked it. My first rating here, but I've been referring to BA fairly often, and had a lot of different brews over the years, over 1,500, mostly IPAs, and at this time, preferably WC. This is an amber looking beer, a little hazy, a medium amount of bitterness. Served as a draft in a pub glass.

This Center of the Universe brew seems to deliver a strong hop profile that is very dependent on freshness in order for the citrus undertones and the malt sweetness to survive. Poured from a can dated 12-19-19, about ten weeks old, Pocohoptas seems to be very hazy darker orange with light lacing and one finger head. It was an overall good IPA, you can tell by the complexity of the flavors involved, but the hop profile seems to be stronger than what I would think was the brewer's intention and I can only think it was the age of the brew. The grapefruit is far too forward and the mouthfeel is not as dry as you would think based on the attention to the hops involved. The carbonation also was more muted than I would expect. I would buy again however as it was still enjoyable as a medium bitter and mid-dry IPA, but this time look for a newer can!

Poured from a can into a pint glass. Pours orange red with a small white head. Smells of floral and citrus hops, very inviting. Tastes of citrus and earthy hops, with just enough notes of sweet barley. Beer is light bodied and very easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a very good beer.

I have heard good hings about Center of the Universe and being close to Virginia gives me the exposure to a lot of the stuff that is going on there.

This is kind of a old school, west coast style with initial balance followed by a withering piney aftertaste. This is oily and laced with resin. The malt holds its own for a while, with notes of caramel and buttered biscuit. The hops also get some late breaking herbal and especially medicinal qualities. Solid little number, if not particularly unique.

Got some brand new fresh cans, so gave this one a try. Turned out to be nice a juicy with orange and orange rind. Nose could be bigger, but this was a pretty nice drinking beer. Getting this again or not would definitely depend on getting it as fresh as possible. Probably a very dull beer if it has been on the shelf a while.
