Gotta love the retro can. Lime green, yellow flowers, and the traditional goat for the spring bock release.
Pours a nice amber color, crystal clear with moderate carbonation. The head settles to a thin tan foam. The nose reveals a slightly bock nose. Creamy caramel, grassy hops, and I think there is a little corn adjunct in there to keep it "genny-smooth". You may have to be from Rochester to appreciate this beer, but you can't knock genny for having some creativity, randomness, and a sense of humor. This is a great brother/sister to the infamous cream ale.
Cheers, Rochester!

Poured out as a brownish color with a cream colored head. The lacing and retention were minimal. The smell of the beer is malty, some earthy hops and yesterday on the nose also. The taste of the beer is malty, toasted and had a good amount of caramel. The mouthfeel is smooth, creamy and gently carbonated. Overall this a decent bock.

Poured from the iconic green can into a 16 oz. pint glass.
A-Dark amber to copper in color with a thick lively khaki head that rather quickly dies down to thin, fizzy head. No lacing, no problem.
S-Rich sweet malty aroma with some carmelized sugar and honey mixed in. Also, some husky, corn adjunct aromas, but nothing offensive or off putting.
T-Malt up front with a slightly roasty, hoppy, bitter and noticeably crisp finish. This beer has a surprisingly rich and earthy flavor profile. There is even the most subtle play of dried, dark fruits on the palate. Nothing really too complex, but there is enough here to keep you coming back for more. Dare I say sessionable? Yes, I dare.
M-Thin bodied with plenty of carbonation.
O-Very pleasant. Worth drinking. Good way to welcome in the Spring, and it is my Super Bowl beer of choice. Most people wouldn't expect this caliber of beer when the see the Genesee name on it. It is not the best beer or bock in the world by a long shot, but I challenge you to do any better for the money.

This was from a 12 pack of cans I found at Breweskee's of New Oxford, PA ($7.15 / 12 pack)
Look: Poured a super clear deep copper with a high level of steady carbonation bubbles and a 1-finger head of fluffy white foam. Lacing was thin but present.
Smell: The aroma had some 'Genny Cream Ale' funk made up of grain and cardboard. Then were some malty notes with a faint roasted character. Also some faint brown sugar notes were happening. Nothing too crazy but nothing real nasty either.
Taste: First up was an adjunct sweetness with a slight roasted note. Then the palate was cleansed with carbonation and some residual corn adjunct. The finish was a nice sweetness that moved quickly to some hop bitterness. The aftertaste was fairly clean with some sweetness returning towards the very end.
This was actually a solid offering from Genesee. I honestly would say it has a bit more character than Shiner Bock. You can't beat this beer for the price.

Can into Great Lakes pint glass.
Nice brownish amber color that lets some light through. Left some lacing on the glass.
Nice malty smell, slightly sweet.
Mostly malts with just a bit of hop bitterness in the finish.
Smooth and not too carbonated.
Awesome beer for the price. Good flavor and drinkability. Definitely worth a try.

Poured from a 12 oz can in to a pint glass.
A- Pours a nice looking amber body with a solid inch of off-white head with moderate retention and lacing.
S- Metallic and adjuncts. A little sweet and a little fruity.
T- Similar to many macro lagers but noticeable better. Mostly malty and sweet, but finishes with a hint of bitterness to balance things out.
M- More to chew on than a macro. Finishes crisp and just a bit dry. Well-carbonated and creamy.
O- This beer is really easy drink, and I've certainly had worse. Light on the wallet at $7.50 for a 12 pack. You get a great bang for your buck with this beer and it may turn in to my go-to session beer from now on. Much better than the piss-water.
