Served in a bottle poured into a pint glass.
A- Very dark brown, black in color with a lot of light brown head.
S- Has a very strong chocolate and caramel malty scent to it.
T- The taste is not as strong as you would think it would be after smelling it, but it is still fairly heavy on the chocolate and caramel scent.
M- Somewhat bitter beer with a strange after taste to it.
D- Fairly drinkable, but this beer is not really my type so I would not have more than one or two in a sitting.
Overall a solid Porter. Not too overpowering taste wise, but the weird after taste is a bit of a turnoff.

Bought as part of Dundee's Ales & Lagers Seasonal Pack from Southtown Beverage on 4/26/13. Case price was $ 17.99.
poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Sam Smith's Pint Glass. Served at Ambient Temp.
appearance: clear medium brown, liked Brewed black tea supports a 2 finger shortbread colored head. nice lacing.
aroma: nice toasted malt with English style earthy hops.
mouthfeel: smooth, maybe a little thin for the style.
taste: lovely, caramel sweetness with a touch of cocoa. some hazelnuts.
notes: Wow! wasn't expecting a beer this good from Dundee but it is an excellent beer. Maybe a little light for the style in color, mouthfeel and body but it is delicious beer that can hold it's own and will become a regular of mine.

Slight sweet malty scent.
Poured into a tulip glass hoping to capture or maintain head. The head was very bubbley for a porter and is disappears rather quickly leaving some small lacing on the glass.
Dark appearance but not thick. YOu can see light coming through near bottom of the glass. More like a cola then a porter.
The taste - very carbonated, especially for a porter. Maltly somewhat bitter but very thin. Little after tasted.
I had a half of one. It's an average tasting mainstream type beer. I didn't see the point of finishing it.

12-oz bottle into Samuel Smith "Tulip" pint glass
A - 3 fingers of light tan foam over a transparent body of dark ruby/brown
S - roast malts and coffee, malty sweetness
T - caramel sweetness pleasantly balanced by bitter notes of roast malt, coffee, touch of dark chocolate, aftertaste of lingering caramel sweetness and booze
M - syrupy medium body, medium/high carbonation
O - a decent porter

Picked up the Dundee variety 12 pack for a price I couldn't beat.
Poured into a pint glass
A- Pours a deep brown with really fizzy cream colored head that lingers but doesn't do much in the lacing dept. The deep brown color has red highlights when held up to the light. Looks pretty decent except for the fizziness of the head.
S- Not too much going on here. Aromas of light roasted coffee and dark bittersweet chocolate. Also smells grainy.
T- This is where it redeems itself. Huge flavor compared to the aroma. Tastes of unsweetened chocolate not unlike unsweetened cocoa powder hits the tongue first. Followed by some light roasted coffee bitterness that is pleasant. Nice amount of dark roasted malt flavors.
M- Seems a tad too thin. Also I think the fizziness of the head also comes into play here. Maybe it is a tad over carbonated. Just seems a little to light and fizzy.
O- A decent offering at best. Not disappointed at all that I bought this 12 pack for less than 10 bucks. Interested to see how the others stack up.
