Pours a decent pale golden/straw color with a bit of head that dies very quickly.
The nose is full of pale malt and what I think is Czech hops, smells basically like a pretty strong Euro lager.
The first taste is big on the pale malt and hops which is good, but after a second it warms up and transforms into a skunky mess.
Light body and fairly smooth, but the aftertaste is horrid. It wasn't bad until that part. Not much else going on, no malt complexity or hop character.

purchased a 24 oz can for .99 at Wegmans on 4/25/13.
poured from a can into a mug, served at fridge temp.
medium amber with a 2 finger white head that leaves almost no lacing.
aroma: faint hoppiness, not much else.
mouthfeel: thin
taste: virtually no flavor, as bland as any beer I have had.
notes: I have grown to become a homer for Genny and genuinely like regular Genny, Light and Cream Ale but this is as forgettable and boring as there is. Won't buy this one again.

24 fl oz can, with no apparent freshness date present. First time I have ever seen this beer in my area, although it's probably been around. I thought it might be related to the Labatt Max Ice, but I guess not. Would have rather tried this in a bottle, but oh well. Been trying to tick off as many adjunct lagers and malt liquors as possible as of late. Low expectations for this one, considering. But perhaps I will be surprised.
Poured into a Firestone Walker pint glass.
A - Pours about a finger of quickly dissipating white carbonated head, audibly sizzling away on top of a clear gold colored body. Slightly darker than typical swill American adjunct lager fare like Miller Lite and Bud Light. Second pour yields about two fingers of fluffy sizzling eggshell white head that recedes quickly.
S - Corn adjuncts and corn husk. Some grain and some roasted malt. Doesn't really smell like anything, to be honest.
T - Light in body, fair level of carbonation considering what it is. Clean, crisp, and smooth. Somewhat malty with a bit of corn adjuncts thrown in. Definitely exceeds my expectations, and comes off as somewhat of a tame beer in comparison with the Steel Reserve 211 High Gravity that I just drank. Not a flavorful or complex beer by any means, but drinkable and inoffensive.
M - Smooth, crisp, wet, and clean feeling. Moderate carbonation, and moderate bodied feel. A little carbonated, but not over-bearing. Mostly just a corn kernel aftertaste.
Overall, definitely not breaking any new ground with this. Another one of the same, simple, boring, generic alcohol delivery vehicles. Corn adjuncts and carbonation. Minus the subtle differences between these types of sub-par swill beverages, it seems that if you've had one, you've had 'em all. Some are however, more foul and putrid than the others. Genesee Ice Beer could probably be classified as one of the more inoffensive American adjunct lagers, but there are way better beers out there. I guess you can't expect much more from a 99 cents tall boy can, and I have definitely had worse beers for more money.
Genesee Ice Beer ---2/5.

Daggon this is one good cheap beer.
Drink it from the can always, sometime on special dinners or in certain company pour into a glass.
Smells like a regular American beer, a bit more hops.
Taste is exceptionally disproportional to the price, genesee is delicious, price is Cheap with a capital C, 30 pack is 14$ here in KY.
Mouthfeel makes me think of a lighter alcohol pct. but it is certainly not at 5.9%.
Overall I am appreciative to pass on the knowledge that this is a great beer to keep stocked out in your garage refrigerator for anyone who wants a better than light beer.

Drank from the 24oz can.
Smell is somewhat sweet with corn and grain mostly and then a tinge of sweetness and some cooked cabbage.
This tastes like college. Somewhat sweet and grainy with some alcohol in the middle. Goes down with a touch of bitterness and crackery malt. Finishes with a touch of beer pong dirt and funnel foam in my mind.
For the price there are more effective "get you drunk" beers but this has a bit better taste than others. Not great in any aspect but not super bad. Very average.

Poured from can into pint glass
Appearance – Pours a nice golden color with a big white head. The head has decent retention lasting for about 5 min. It eventually fades to leave a decent level of lacing.
Smell – The aroma is heaviest of a corn and caramel smell. Overall it is on the sweeter side.
Taste – The taste begins with some corn sweetness and a bready taste. As it moves on the sweetness fades a bit toward the middle. While the sweet fades, it is only temporary and in the end the corn sweetness returns to leave a sweet bready and corn flavor on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the medium side in terms of creaminess and thickness with a carbonation level that is rather average. Good for the style, as it makes it very easy to drink as it flows through the mouth.
Overall – While it is mostly of sweeter corn and some notes of bread and not super flavorful, it is by no way offensive and is very easy to drink. For 24 oz at only $1.29 it’s not too shabby and makes for a good tailgating brew.

This is hands down better than any mass-produced American beer on the budget range. It could be I'm just happy to have found something other than natural ice or 14 dollar 12 packs of Budweiser here in Nashville, being its only gas stations that sell beer here and liquor stores are not allowed to. Anyways 6.50 for a 12 pack and being Nashville I had to buy 6 24 ounce cans, wasn't to bad, and having 5.5. ALC is strong enough that are neighbors in Canada wouldn't laugh at us.

24 ounce can. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a clear dark gold color with about a half inch off-white head. There's a small amount of lacing. Not much to the aroma, it just smells like sweet/grainy malt. Taste is the same as the aroma, it's all sweet/grainy malt. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's smooth and easy enough to drink with moderate carbonation. There's even a slight slickness to the mouthfeel. This isn't too bad at all, there aren't any offensive flavors or aromas. Actually, I was expecting a lot worse so this brew was a nice surprise. For $1.09 a can you could certainly do a lot worse. For the style of beer it is, I'd buy this again if I was in the mood for it.
