Pours straw colored and slightly hazy color with a small foamy head. Head retention and lacing are both good. Has a salty lemon type of aroma. Some agave. Taste follows the same. Very mildly tart at the end, though. Light bodied and somewhat refreshing. A good summer beer. Moderate carbonation.

Pours out straw in color. The head is white and a bit thin but with ok retention. Not seeing any lacing.

The nose has lemon and grains. There is a fresh hops bitterness to it as well. Its a bit floral.

The taste has little bitterness to it but more of a light honey sweetness with some lemon and floral notes.

The mouthfeel is light with medium carbonation. Its crisp and refreshing. Seems good for a summer BBQ.

I tri3d this at 54th street restaurant and drafthouse outside of Frisco. It poured a hazy yellow with white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had hints of citrus peel. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it's a decent beer.

Hazy, golder lager look with minimal white head. Smells citrusy with little to no pine. Hops aren't in your face. Taste is average with a great balance of hops, grapefruit, and little pine. Feel's like one of the smoothest and most crisp IPAs out there.

Appearance:
Golden, cloudy. Moderate carbonation rising. Small white head.

Aroma:
Fruity, berry, slight bubblegum, sweet pale malt.

Taste/Finish/Body:
Hop bitterness is moderate, mostly fruity, berry and herbal. Solid malt background, sweet bread, biscuity. Yeasty character, bubblegum. Finish is slight bitterness, crisp. Medium-light bodied, well carbonated, smooth.

Overall:
It doesn't taste like a typical American Pale Ale, it has a slight Hefeweizen character to it.

What can I say, it's a very interesting Pale Ale. Certainly it doesn't feel like a traditional PA. But because the bottle explicitly states Southwestern Pale Ale, I think it's a good addition.

It's a big on a sweeter side, not too hoppy. Although I've had people tell me otherwise. It's a bit harder to drink when it's warmer, it just has too much going on. I don't want to say that it feels thick but I could easily put it in a random 'American Ale' category because it's just so different. But when it's ice cold it goes down much smoother and has citrus finish. Like anything else from Revolver, I find it hard to drink many of their brews. I mean it does go down easy when it's chilled nicely but it's not a 6-pack killer, plus it has a kick at 6-7% I wouldn't consider it a good summer beer.

But overall, it's a very interesting brew. Out of all Revolver offerings I prefer Sidewinder if I have it. Would I buy it at current price point they have at HEB? I am not sure. Would I turn it down as free brew? No, I'd drink it happily.

This beer is so unique and different from other Pale Ales that you just have to give it a try.
