I would never have stopped at this place normally but I happened to meet one of their employees while enjoying a beer at Choice City and he told me they carried almost 600 unique craft beers, so I decided to check it out. It's in a weird part of Ft. Collins, which probably explains why no one has heard of it, but if you find yourself in the southern part of town it's well worth the visit. Of course it's no behemoth like Wilbur's or Supermarket, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in selection. I picked up a Parabola, Consecration and an Odio Equum (which was released only 2 days before I was at the store) and there were hints about some rarities for customers in the know that aren't on the shelf. The prices we're often better than the big FoCo stores and when you can casually chat about great beer with one of the store's owners, not many places can match that kind of service. This store is totally dedicated to craft beer already and I was told they're in the process of adding 4 more cooler doors strictly for bombers. Needless to say, I will be stopping by 287 Discount again.

Don't judge a book by it's cover, don't judge liquor store's from their outside appearance. Looks like this would just be one in a million smaller liquor stores catering to the general drinking public, but not so. Not a tiny store, but somewhat small and old and very unfancy. That said, a nice beer selection that pretty much offers all the good stuff. Because its smaller, not in the heart of town its one of those places that you can also find older bottles of beers long gone in the bigger places. Always nice to unexpectedly come across some Parabola or Oud Floris months since it went MIA everywhere else, for example. Helpful and sociable staff. The "Discount" in their name certainly does not apply to the beer stuff, though, as I find their bottles are often a little pricier than other joints, ($0.50 to a $1.00), but they remain my go to shop for their convenience, service, and selection. And since introducing their new, bomber/singles refrigerators this place has gotten even better,
