Perfect cloudy straw color with a white head that is considerably thicker than most I've encountered in this style. Lacing is quite good as well and there is a considerable amount of carbonation visible in the glass. Smell is lemony with a good wheat twang. Spices are well represented with a nice dollop of coriander, a hint of banana in the back. Taste follows the nose with a great wheat malt core and good spice component. Lemony bright with a slightly tart dryness. A bit of light crackery malt and faint banana/clove with a dash of black pepper. Feel is light with a smooth crisp carbonation. Superbly drinkable and a great version of the style. one of the best I've had. Well done Avery!

A - Looks like lemonade with a soapy foam on top. Laces the glass quite a bit. No visible carbonation through the cloudy look.
S - Scents of lemon and peaches. Smells of wheat as well. Almost reminds me of a saison.
T - Very sweet with a citrus punch, that ends with a light grain flavor. Perfect for a summer BBQ.
M - Light on the palate, and hits all the spots. This is a great drinker, and my growler emptied quickly.
O - A very refreshing beer that is true to style. Maybe doesn't stand out, but certianly does not disappoint either.

32 Ounce growler pour., poured into Hoegaarden glass
A: Cloudy thin light yellow, hazy translucent, unfiltered. It looks a little funky, albeit inviting and tasty.
S: Bananas and cream, fruity yeast, lemons, slightly metallic. Sweet and spicy.
T: Funky , spicy witbier here! It's a little unrefined tasting, but super tasty and enjoyable. Some spicy cloves, lemony, banana, typical bland witbier finish. I could drink this all day in summer.
M: Silky smooth, a bit of a carbonation and spice bite, which is a little sloppy for the style, but, its an American interpretation and I like it for what it is.
O: Overall I really like this beer. It is a little more manly tasting than your average witbier, which I appreciate! I would definitely pick this up in lieu of some more expensive witbiers out there to share with the GF who likes the style a lot. Better than expected...

On draft at The Lark, East Northport, NY.
Poured a hazy pale straw hue with a two finger foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing.
The smell featured light esters and a grainy malt.
The taste consisted of sweet grainy malts, light spicy esters and an herbal hop.
The mouthfeel was round for the style.
Overall a decent wit.

Poured from a 12 oz can. Gotta love cans in the summertime.
A: Surprisingly light colored straw. Pours thin, lemonade like. Nice 1 finger head but it dissipates very quickly to none. A little bit of fine, dotted lacing. Not best looking beer. But a true unfiltered, yeast in suspension, fine haze beer.
S: As noted not a big waft. Light, faint, little bit of esters, yeast, hops, more Orange, coriander, but very light.
T: Tastes better than smell. Excellent blend of sweetness, coriander & Orange, citruis, yeast smoothness and drying, tingly tartness. Finish is dry. You could session this beer. My wife loves this beer. Nice take on style, and more refreshing and sessionable than lesser ones.
F: Mouth feel is light. Lighter than lagers. Smooth. easy to drink. Moderate but tingly, refreshing carbonation.
Pick the right foods and this is a great beer. If your partner likes white, belgian, blue moon, then give this a try. I view it as a summer beer, nice to surprise guests with.
Like many complex, spicy brews this one gets better as it warms.
However, follow it with an ale and my mouth goes WOW with the ale (in this case Smuttynose Shoals Pale Ale), they actually each make the other taste better!

Poured from a 12 oz bottle.
Color is light straw. While pouring it is almost water or lemonade like. Less than a half finger thick off white bubbly head that fades pretty soon. Just about fine lacing. Some bubbles.
Aroma is of Belgian yeast and wheat beer. Some sweetness and some tartness. Strength is good.
Taste is a nice blend of wheat sweetness, Belgian yeast smoothness and drying tartness. Finish is dry.
Mouth feel is very light. Lighter than lagers may be. Smooth as hell. Very easy to drink. Moderate carbonation.

Enjoyed this beer at a reception before dinner. Nice citrus taste, fruity without being too much so. Smooth, easy to drink, no strong bite or aftertaste. Not heavily sweet. I would buy this anytime. I often enjoy a good lager, and I had one when this beer ran out, and it was not as good.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a white color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of citrus, some spice. Taste is good, citrus up front, some mild spices at the finish, very easy drinking. Feels full bodied in the mouth and overall is a solid beer, I imagine it would be refreshing during the summer.

appearance: Kind of orangey, caramelly colored. The meniscus of the liquid lacked any real effervescence or character otherwise. Just a very average looking still liquid.
aroma: Little to speak of. I'd like to say I could smell citrus notes in this, or coriander, or something, but it really doesn't waft very well.
taste: Above all, it tastes like there is a lot of unused malt in the bottle. There are hops, but the malt flavor borders on syrupiness.
mouthfeel: Bland, little carbonation, but also little body. This has a dry or particulate feel - really noticeable if you run your tongue over your teeth.
overall: This is a thin beer, and barely a Witbier. I expect either effervescence or body, and since there is so little carbonation, something needs to make up for it, but doesn't. The flavor leaves a strong sugary aftertaste - that bitter/tart on the back of the tongue - which to my palate is offputting. Honestly, a Blue Moon on tap is a lot better than this.

I am pouring this from the tap in my garage, out of a 5 gallon. I am not basing my comment on a 4 oz taster in a bar somewhere. i am nearly through a 5 gl tank of this, and i would usually have an ipa on tap, so a pale ale like this is going to be scrutinized every time i change the laundry. in my garage. where the beer is. This is not a weissen beer, whoever thinks that is mistaken. This is a pale ale with some added spice that actually makes it even better, a surprisingly white creamy head, you can't pigeon hole this beer. Sounds like the dryer just shut off, I'm gonna go check on that...

Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – Served a hazy yellow colored brew with a one finger thick white head. The head has decent retention fading to leave a nice level of lacing.
Smell – The smell is heaviest of wheat and orange and lemon citrus. Mixed with these aromas are some notes of yeast, coriander, and banana. Rather classic witbier smell.
Taste – The taste begins with lots of wheat and some orange citrus. The citrus grows stronger more toward the middle only to fade some in the end. While the citrus grows to its max, it is met with a yeasty and spice flavors of coriander and clove. These spices and yeasty flavors grow stronger at the expense of the citrus and with a light grassy and funky flavor, which comes to the tongue at the very end of the taste, together leave a wheaty, yeasty and lightly spice and funky taste to linger in the mouth.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is rather light in terms of creaminess with a carbonation level that is rather high. Again classic witbier style in feel and good for the flavor profile.
Overall - A fairly easy drinking and tasty brew, but in many ways just on in the crowd witbiers. Nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out either.

Golden yellow body and a small head on the pour. Very poor lacing but somewhat common amognst this style..?
Strong corn aroma as well as a hay smell, but not in a bad way like most cheap lagers. Malty, bready and some banana and pineapple.
The taste starts out sweet then quickly dissapears into a spice filled world. Banana and a lemon zest finish this one off.
Clean, crisp and refreshing. Light bodied and easy to drink.
A decent brew by Avery that I enjoyed but not sure if I would come back to this. Maybe during summer time while grilling up some burgers, but not something i would really have again as a desert.

Poured into a Sam Adams glass, developed a light frothy head, appeared highly carbonated, like many of the Belgian beers. Color was a hazy straw with lots of bubbles. Aroma was sweet and of citrus and grain. Taste was light with hints of lemon and orange and a grain aftertaste. Mouthfeel was light and carbonated.

Poured from a bottle into a Sam Adams glass
A - Very light in color, not unlike apple juice. A finger of a white head quickly dissipates.
S - Some citrus and wheat. An aroma typical of a Witbier.
T - Above average. Very drinkable and light, but still has some nice flavor. Some citrus at first with a tangy finish.
M - Some carbonation is present, about average for this type of brew. Very light on the tongue and almost a watery quality, which helps the drink-ability, but I'm not that big of a fan. Little to no aftertaste helps to bump up the score.
Summary - Not a bad Witbier, but in my opinion, Blue Moon or Leine's Sunset Wheat do it better.

12oz bottle fresh from the brewery. Super hazy yellow-white appearance, very cool how some beers can appear white. Aroma is heavy spice and yeast. Flavor is oranges, yeast, spice and seems like it fits the style well. Overall a decent beer but not one I see myself ever purchasing.

Tried this beer in a bottle and on tap. If you enjoy a true wheat beer you will love this one. It has a full body and tastes of hints of coriander and citrus but not overpowering with fruit flavor. Very clean flavor without a bad aftertaste, this is a beer I could drink daily and would if I could get it locally.

This beer poured out as a cloudy yellow color with a foamy white head on top. The retention and lacing were both pretty good. The smell of the beer is citrusy as well as a little peppery. The taste is orangey, some subtle wheat notes come through as well. The mouthfeel of the beer is light bodied with a decent carbonation. Overall this beer is pretty refreshing. Not the best Wit but still worth trying.

Trying to hit some of the Avery beers before they leave the state. Going with a wit on a cold snowy wintery night.Julian date 202, so not too fresh, but not excessively old either. Can poured into SN tulip.
Soft aroma overall. Wheat with mild spicing. Touch of fruit.
Poured with big full white head and quite a bit of lacing. Slightly cloudy darkish gold.
Flavor is nice. Fairly strong fruit presence. Some drying. Yeast laying on the tongue. Touch of lactic. Seems a little vanilla.
Carbonation is filling, but not that big in feel or effervescent. Moderate body and pretty darn soft.
This held up pretty good for age. Subtle signs of age, but really not an issue. Good solid wit.

Appearance: Can't be spoken for. Drank from a bottle.
Smell: Like a typical witbier. Clove, banana. But then a little something that's more dominant int he taste...
Taste/feel: Wet trunk. It's not appealing. It's certainly drinkable, and the bananas help it out, but whatever's causing that wet trunk taste is not encouraging me to drink another one of these. I've had worse, but as far as a witbier, this is my least favorite of the style. It's just off-putting.
