S: standard Belgian style, a little banana and clove, yeast
T: follows the nose, slightly sweet, a little pepper

Poured from a 12 oz bottle.
Color is light straw. While pouring it is almost water or lemonade like. Less than a half finger thick off white bubbly head that fades pretty soon. Just about fine lacing. Some bubbles.
Aroma is of Belgian yeast and wheat beer. Some sweetness and some tartness. Strength is good.
Taste is a nice blend of wheat sweetness, Belgian yeast smoothness and drying tartness. Finish is dry.
Mouth feel is very light. Lighter than lagers may be. Smooth as hell. Very easy to drink. Moderate carbonation.

Enjoyed this beer at a reception before dinner. Nice citrus taste, fruity without being too much so. Smooth, easy to drink, no strong bite or aftertaste. Not heavily sweet. I would buy this anytime. I often enjoy a good lager, and I had one when this beer ran out, and it was not as good.

appearance: Kind of orangey, caramelly colored. The meniscus of the liquid lacked any real effervescence or character otherwise. Just a very average looking still liquid.
aroma: Little to speak of. I'd like to say I could smell citrus notes in this, or coriander, or something, but it really doesn't waft very well.
taste: Above all, it tastes like there is a lot of unused malt in the bottle. There are hops, but the malt flavor borders on syrupiness.
mouthfeel: Bland, little carbonation, but also little body. This has a dry or particulate feel - really noticeable if you run your tongue over your teeth.
overall: This is a thin beer, and barely a Witbier. I expect either effervescence or body, and since there is so little carbonation, something needs to make up for it, but doesn't. The flavor leaves a strong sugary aftertaste - that bitter/tart on the back of the tongue - which to my palate is offputting. Honestly, a Blue Moon on tap is a lot better than this.

Golden yellow body and a small head on the pour. Very poor lacing but somewhat common amognst this style..?
Strong corn aroma as well as a hay smell, but not in a bad way like most cheap lagers. Malty, bready and some banana and pineapple.
The taste starts out sweet then quickly dissapears into a spice filled world. Banana and a lemon zest finish this one off.
Clean, crisp and refreshing. Light bodied and easy to drink.
A decent brew by Avery that I enjoyed but not sure if I would come back to this. Maybe during summer time while grilling up some burgers, but not something i would really have again as a desert.

Poured from a bottle into a Sam Adams glass
A - Very light in color, not unlike apple juice. A finger of a white head quickly dissipates.
S - Some citrus and wheat. An aroma typical of a Witbier.
T - Above average. Very drinkable and light, but still has some nice flavor. Some citrus at first with a tangy finish.
M - Some carbonation is present, about average for this type of brew. Very light on the tongue and almost a watery quality, which helps the drink-ability, but I'm not that big of a fan. Little to no aftertaste helps to bump up the score.
Summary - Not a bad Witbier, but in my opinion, Blue Moon or Leine's Sunset Wheat do it better.

12oz bottle fresh from the brewery. Super hazy yellow-white appearance, very cool how some beers can appear white. Aroma is heavy spice and yeast. Flavor is oranges, yeast, spice and seems like it fits the style well. Overall a decent beer but not one I see myself ever purchasing.

This beer poured out as a cloudy yellow color with a foamy white head on top. The retention and lacing were both pretty good. The smell of the beer is citrusy as well as a little peppery. The taste is orangey, some subtle wheat notes come through as well. The mouthfeel of the beer is light bodied with a decent carbonation. Overall this beer is pretty refreshing. Not the best Wit but still worth trying.

Appearance: Can't be spoken for. Drank from a bottle.
Smell: Like a typical witbier. Clove, banana. But then a little something that's more dominant int he taste...
Taste/feel: Wet trunk. It's not appealing. It's certainly drinkable, and the bananas help it out, but whatever's causing that wet trunk taste is not encouraging me to drink another one of these. I've had worse, but as far as a witbier, this is my least favorite of the style. It's just off-putting.

Poured into a pint glass.
A: Slightly hazy pale yellow with two-finger, white, fizzy head that lasted several minutes. Great lacing.
S: Citrus and tang with wheat aroma.
T: Moderate sweetness and light bitterness. Citrus and banana wheat.
M: Medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. Watery.
O: Not bad, but not great. Above average witbier. Better than Blue Moon for sure.

APPEARANCE: At the moment my stop watch say about 4 minutes and 15 seconds, I started running it about three minutes after I poured this glass of White Rascal and most of the head is still intact. So yeah, the head retention is pretty decent. It is a creamy, white head and it crowns a pale, yellow and hazy beer that has thousands of bubbles darting from the bottom to the top.
SMELL: The magnificent head retention has also allowed for excellent aroma retention. Even now, a good eight minutes after I initially poured this beer, it is still giving off a pretty solid aroma of lemon zest and a mild funk. There are also some tropical fruits lingering in this one.
TASTE: OK, stop watch is at eight minutes now and the head has finally settled into a cap that resembles the thickness of a beer coaster, so it's time to take a sip. The flavor is not as intense as the nose, but that's alright for this Witbier. Of course there is lemon and plenty of tropical fruit, but there also seems to be a hint of coconut to round it out. It's a pleasant and sweet taste that is contrasted just a touch by a mild funky earthiness.
MOUTHFEEL: Smooth and creamy, this light bodied beer is pretty sweet. The carbonation is low, providing just a faint tickle of the palate.
OVERALL: This is a very accessible beer. This is the kind of beer that people who don't like beer say "Oh, but I do like that one" about. That is not to say it cannot be appreciated by a BAer. No, it isn't my first choice, but it is a nice change of pace from the intensity that I typically seek in my brews. On the sweeter side, but well crafted and highly drinkable.

Bought a single as part of a mix six at World Market in Round Rock. A substantial head upon initial pour, faded pretty quickly though. Left lots of sprider web lace though.Beer itself is a bit cloudy in appearance with a light straw color. Not a bad looker.
Very fruity and floral. Getting the coriander and orange right off the bat. A little lemon, banana, and wheat as well. I like.
Taste follows, but falls a bit flat. None of the scents really take over the taste, and the beer seems a bit muddled. Feels super carbonated as well and finishes quite dry. This would be a good hot weather beer for sure as it's quite easy to drink and not boozy at all. Finish is a little on the dry side.
All and all, a decent beer, but I'm not sure that this style is for me.

A - dark, hazy yellow with a short, white head that has little retention
S - lemon, yeast, faint coriander, faint white grapes
T - wheat, faint yeast, faint white grapes, very faint spices
M - light bodied, crisp, well carbonated
This is an OK beer. I would like more of the wheat and promised orange peel to come through. The malt and yeast give off a heavy white grape note similar to a scaled down Tripel. It's easy to drink but boring. I won't buy this again.

This is a very drinkable beer, although it is just basically average. It pours a pale straw color head with a one finger head and poor retention. Lacing is left on the glass. Smell is floral and oranges. Mouthfeel is full with plenty of carbonation. Taste is very citrus on the front and mild hops on the finish. I wouldn't turn one down if offered, but I wouldn't seek it out either. Just very average.

Golden yellow in the glass with a nice creamy head that lingers a bit. Smell is lemon, grass and maybe some pepper. Flavor echoes the same - it is light yet with body and refreshing. With the spicing of this beer it borders a Saison flavor with a heavy dose of citrus.

Bottle poured into a shaker pint.
Pour: Hazy golden straw with two fingers of white puffy head.
Smell: Lemon zest, clove, little bit of banana. Yeast is pretty predominant.
Taste: Follows the nose with spice and yeast. Very bready.
Mouthfeel: The spice is pretty strong in this one to me, but it is still very refreshing and drinkable.
Overall: An OK witbier.

Poured from a bottle into a Sam Adams tasting room glass.
A:Beautiful golden color, just a touch of head, making a ring around the glass, doesn't even cover the beer.
S:The strongest note I detected was honey, some hops and citrus are perceived as well.
T:Nice and balanced, no particular flavor shines through. More mouth feel on this beer than taste. Quite light and pleasant taste for what is there.
M: Nice body to this beer, feels thicker in the mouth than it looks. Strong carbonation on the tongue with a nice finish.
O: Nice everyday drinking beer, especially for a hot day. Is a simple, well done white beligan style beer.

Served in a Sam Adams signature pint.
Appearance: Light hazy gold, (white) head is not as built as some would like rising to maybe 1/4" off the body.
Smell: Strong [lemon] citrus scent with a hard yeast feel. Weird in a way that it might smell spoiled to others but still happy.
Taste: Lemon oh yes lemon with a yeast feel that really can't leave you unhappy. Honestly I really like it, it is creamy a little sweet and of course bitter. Well made.
Mouth Sharp texture, that tingles the palates. Medium carbonation feel;s just right.
Overall: People have bashed this beer but it lives to above of it's potential. It is tasty and with a crisp after-taste it is incredibly satisfying. Salud!

A- Light lemony yellow with small white head and cloudy appearance.
S- Lemon bitterness with wheat malt underpinning and slight bubble gum smell reminiscent of a Hefe.
T- Coriander and bubble gum from yeast flavors stand out. Light citrus taste.
M- Medium-bodied, smooth, light mouth coating after swallow.

White Rascal by Avery Co. I saw the bottle with that white imp thing on it and almost a red bottle I knew I must try it. I have enjoyed Avery products in the past so I gave it a shot
Appearance - A strikingly pale golden pours from the bottle with a very nice unfiltered - ness that followed (love it) and then it gave an egg shell colored head (went to paint department today)
Smell - Not a lot there, small amounts of orange and lemon, overall citrus with some hops but not the amount I needed
Taste - We had a winner. This is a great summer beer, light, unfiltered, and has a mellow citrus at the end. My taste buds are thanking me
Mouthfeel - the excitment doesnt last and my taste buds want more, almost a dry feeling after a moment. Enough carbonation to be satisfied
Overall - Nice light citrus beer. I do like this one just needs some more smells to make it hit.

12 oz bottle purchased during my Denver trip in February. Poured into my beer goblet.
Appearance: A straw colored pale beer with no head except a ring around the edge of the glass.
Smell: Light spiciness from the yeast and coriander also a bit of bready malt.
Taste: A decent witbier, but not very complex. A general spiciness along with some clove and citric flavors.
Mouthfeel: The body is not heavy, but it is full due to the yeast (if that makes sense). The carbonation is o the stronger side, as it should be with a witbier.
Overall: A decent witbier, but it does not separate itself from other examples of the style. I would definitely drink it again, but probably not seek it out.

A: single finger bright white frothy head on a pale straw/golden murky body with nice contrast between head and body color.
S: lots of sweet lemon custard, a little pepper, wheat, grains.
T: more wheat and sweet lemon. Not very spicy or zesty. finish is watered down. ginger and banana notes throughout.
M: light body and moderate to high carbonation. thin and a little watery in the finish.
Overall: The flavor was a bit of a let down from what is hoped from the taste. Its a little too thin, even for the style. Still very drinkable and refreshing.

Poured into a standard pint glass. The beer is a hazy straw yellow color. A white head dissipates to a fog quickly. Random lacing clings to the glass. The beer smells overwhelmingly spicy. The beer tastes floral and spicy. Banana, coriander, and a biscuit note. The mouthfeel is fairly light bodied.
Overall, this is a tasty brew, but it certainly is strong in the spice department.

A: Slightly hazy yellow color with very minimal head that dissipates to a thin veil all around the edges.
S: Not very much going on here. Some spices typical of a Belgian Witbier, some coriander and peppery notes as well as the yeastyness. Would be more enjoyable if they were more noticeable.
T: Very nice blend of grassy wheat and maltyness. Spice note is clearly defined with coriander and peppery flavor of candied ginger. Get some real sweetness at the end, like a mixture of banana or pear. Really enjoyable, the taste made up for the lack of nose and head.
M: Average carbonation works well with the spiceyness. After taste lingers and the ABV is barely noticeable.
O: Not a bad witbier at all. Was slightly disappointed with the lack of aromas but the taste made up for it in spades.

appearance - 4.5/5 - Pours a semi-dark cloudy straw color with a 1/2 finger head. Tiny bubbles can be seen streaming up the edge of the glass.
smell - 5/5 - Strong sweet, citrusy aroma with some spices in the nose too.
taste - 5/5 - Instantly tastes like orange and coriander. Not too much and not too little and followed by a crisp zest.
mouthfeel - 5/5 - Highly carbonated and refreshing.
overall - 5/5 - A very tasty Belgian style beer that is refreshing without overt "Belgian flavor".
