Drinking this at the brewery for their Momi Hiwa release party! Pours up a dark pink with a light white dome. Aroma of sour cherries, lemons, other light fruits. Tastes of sour sour sourness. Light fruits. A little must. Light bodies smooth carbo. Nice

a sour ale spiked with juniper and blueberry, then barrel aged for 3 years. pours a curious shade of cloudy pink, like a fruit juice infused beer, with a tiny head of clear bubbles. the nose is really pungently sour, bretty and oaky too. possibly going to be a sweet taste, the nose has definite blueberry and pine to it, and alcohol. taste is funky and different, the acidic tartness and berry juice comes first, then a weird sort of candied flavor, followed by the juniper i the finish, which to me is where this beer goes wrong. it literally burns on the way down from the juniper, like a poorly made, or navy strength gin. its hot and caustic and a little unpleasant. i couldnt drink more than one of these for that reason. the mouthfeel is medium bodied and very dry, this beer almost makes me thirsty. not a total winner, but a creative brew for sure. worth a taster if you make it to the tap room.

Blonde sour with blueberries and juniper aged in neutral barrels for 3 years. 10oz for $10.
A - Pours a red hue with a bit of a blue tint, making it somewhat pinkish. Nice egg shell head that dies to a light white collar.
S - lots of really nice sour funk, little bit of citrus, some fruity bubblegum and just hints of juniper. Its almost seems like a bit of sour blueberry. Brett and funk. Really awesome smell.
T - sour and tart blueberries, citrus and really nice brett. The oak from the barrels comes thru in the taste. More of that fruit bubblegum - reminds me of that fruit strips gum.
M - really creamy and bubbly. Sour first then tart. The citrus leaves a tangy zing in the corners of the mouth and on the lips.
O - wonderful stuff. I wish they bottled this. The blueberry is fantastic with the overall characteristics of the blonde. The sour aspect is perfect along with the tart finish. Outstanding!
