Notes:
Amber is a Munich style lager brewed with crystal malt and Perle hops. It has a smooth, malty, slightly caramel flavor and a rich amber color. Abita Amber was the first beer offered by the brewery and continues to be our leading seller.

APPEARANCE: The amber poured a little more light orange than I expected and it came along with a touch of haziness. The head was full of big, lively bubbles about an inch thick, but it quickly dissipated.
SMELL: Mild hops and strong honey come through the most in the nose. Some pine is present as well, it smells quite a bit like an IPA.
TASTE: Wow. This is not the typical amber. It has a lot of citrus flavors, most notably grapefruit, upfront. There is also a distinct pine character. Oddly, as this beer fades away onto the palate, it also becomes a little smoky and then finally finishes with a note of licorice. Odd, but tasty beer.
MOUTHFEEL: Abita Amber is pretty solidly carbonated beer. The bubbles are tiny, light and very excited as they hit the palate. A bit of sweetness is left on the tongue after each sip, but overall, this is a dryer beer.
OVERALL: The Abita Amber is on the lighter side, but still an interesting beer. If you're in the mood for something light and refreshing, this would be a good call. If you prefer a little more body, however, it might not be the right brew.

A - Light reddish brown with golden hues. Off white foam head that leaves decent lacing
S - Light caramel malt presence and straw. Not much of a nose
T - Caramel malt, light lemon, and slight straw presence. Some but not a lot of flavor
M - Light body with medium carbonation to it
O - Simple, not too flavorful but unoffensive amber
