Notes:
Jockamo I.P.A. is a traditional India Pale Ale made with the best pale and light crystal malts that give the beer a copper color and malty flavor. This full-flavored beer is hopped and dry hopped liberally with Willamette and Columbus hops from the Pacific Northwest and has a 6.5% A.B.V. The spicy aroma of the hops contrasts nicely with the pleasant sweetness of the malts. Jockamo has a flavor that entices and excites the palate.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle with no dating as far as I can tell.

A - Pours a clear amber color without much head on a rigorous pour. Pretty typical for an IPA. Lacing is better than expected with apparent rings around the top half of the glass for each gulp.

S - Hops! Can somewhat smell the dark caramel malts that go into this beer but its mostly hops.

T - Suprisingly well belanced. It really hits the nail on the head for its name/label. It's very earthy and spicy. Similar to what I imagine could come from a tribe of native americans. The hop spicyness is delicious with the dark and red malt flavor.

M - medium bodied without much carbonation. I like that in an IPA. It makes it a whole lot more palateable.

O - Pretty good brew at a decent price. I like the spice of the hops without much of the intense bitterness that most American IPAs overdo.

12oz bottle into a pint glass.

Pours a clear copper with a solid one finger white head. Really good head retention and just a little bit of lacing.

The aroma is a bit on the mild side but has definite garlic/onion notes along with some floral notes. A little earth and pine too but not much in the way of malt.

A big pine/garlic bomb on the flavor which I happen to love. With that being said, however, it fades way too quick leaving nothing but lingering garlic. Really no malt at all and quite one dimensional. Mouthfeel is very watery given the strength while bitterness is moderate.

Overall, a pretty run of the mill IPA that isn't really worth seeking out. Glad I tried it, though.
