Red Ale (March – May) is brewed with British pale and crystal malts, Sterling hops, and an ale yeast from California. This ale has a rich ruby color, lacy collar, and a pronounced caramel flavor.

Poured from a bottle into a standard pint glass at about 40 degrees F.

A: Nice orange-red hue, clear, a moderate head that leaves some lacing as it dissipates. Color is between an English pale ale and a red.

S: Cascade and Sterling hops right up front, spicy and tart, citrus notes.

T: Nice citrusey Cascade bite with some floral Sterling flavor. Malt is there but it takes a back seat to to aroma and flavor hops. Not overly bitter - hop additions must be late, probably dry hopped too. Really nice.

M: Light mouthfeel, drinks easy.

O: This is a really enjoyable beer to drink. If you like aroma and flavor hops this will be right up your alley. This would be a great beer on a hot day, or maybe paired with some soft cheese. Recommended.

Served in a Walter Payton shaker pint glass.

What can I say? This stuff pours a clear pale bronze topped by a finger of dirty off-white foam. You know it's a bad omen when a red ale doesn't even look all that close to red... The nose comprises lightly minty pine, sweet caramel, and a touch of earthy greens in the back. The taste brings in more of the same, but everything pretty much dies near the middle of the palate, leaving a vague earthiness cold and lonely for the duration and a my tongue confused and abandoned. This is kinda sad. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a fluid feel. Overall, a mediocre, limp little red ale. 'Nuff said.

Into a pint glass. Lots of head, foamy. Light, clear copper colored body.
It has a strong malty hay smell, some bread dough too.
Bigger malt bill in the taste, milder bitterness. Lends a little sweetness at first and then dried out by the hops in the latter half.
Medium body with low carbonation.
Nothing fancy but good and easy drinking.
