inexcusable for these guys to keep releasing infected beer. this is nowhere near as bad as whiskey porter, but its not as old, give it time and it might have the same show stopping repulsiveness. im frustrated as anything with this brewery right now. this is not okay. dark brown color like the other stouts, not much visible carbonation, just some haphazard mocha patches. the nose is instantly like red wine again, bacterial, citric, lactic, and metallic as foil on braces. i do get some smoky earthy pinon nut action, which it a better made beer would really be cool. even bristol got that right. the taste starts with a hint of the pinon coffee, but quickly devolves into a bitter metallic funked out mess of bacterial infection. this is not coffee acidity, its sour beer acidity, not what they were shooting for, it just couldnt be. i have reviewed over 2300 beers since joining this website, and i have poured just three down a drain. unfortunately i now have to say that two of them were paradox stouts. being the bullheaded and resilient and curious person i am, i still intend to drink through their lineup, but if this keeps up these guys cannot possibly stay in business. unforgivable (still not as bad as the whiskey porter, but this is rough stuff too).

750 ml bottle, #527 / 1200. Pours brown black with a medium creamy brown head that retains well and leaves some lacing.
The aroma is roast hazelnut coffee and chocolate with some tart vinous fruit.
The flavor is some lactic chocolate and roast nutty coffee with tart vinous fruits in the finish. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and watery.
Overall, I didn't really care for the blend of roast coffee with the tart vinous sourness. I'm not sure if that was intended or not.
