Average finger or so head, very little retention to the dark brown foam, ends up pooling around the edges, the lacing is haphazard and not sticky at all. Jet black liquid, fully opaque, no sign of sediment, thin line of orange at the glass bottom. The nose comprised mostly of carob, roasted coffee, molten caramel and then licorice, good base of oats and sweeter grains, not getting much honey here, more smokiness than milkiness, quick burst of green hops at the end along with white citrus zest, can’t quite discern any clear fruit scents. Medium-bodied, a little lighter than expected, has enjoyable flow but the close to zero carbonation does not pep it up much. Sure, there’s lots of coffee roast, dark chocolate and mocha, not sweet enough for a lot of caramel or vanilla cream but there. Licorice, orange peel, cola, oats, scone, flowers but still no honey. The lactose shows at the finish, particularly as it warms. Handles its ABV very well and even has a high refreshing quotient, just not sure what unique signature it offers which warrants the stiff price of entry.

Thanks to kubrick215 for sharing.
Pours pitch black and completely opaque with a two finger dark beige head. Great retention, only slowly fading into a lasting cap/ring. Streaks and chunks of soapy lacing left behind.
Roasted malt aroma with hints of dark chocolate, coffee and oatmeal countered by sweeter notes of toffee, light chocolate and caramel. Subtle lactic presence with faint smoke and honey/agave character.
Fuller end of medium bodied with earhy hops complimenting the deeply roasted dark malt notes. Gourmet coffee roast with oatmeal and burnt toast flavor adds a nice roasted element but it never becomes acrid or overly dry. Piny, earthy hops detectable as well along with dark chocolate, fudge, baker's chocolate and other desert like notes. Slightly smokey with lactic creaminess smoothing things out. Well balanced and really easy to drink. Plenty of coffee flavor but is never overly roasted, acrid or one dimensional.

Appearance: Pours out a fudge brown color with a rather modest head that quickly fades to a ringlet; decent lacing action
Smell: Sweetened coffee with a burnt toast edge
Taste: The sweetened coffee flavors dominate, at the outset, with some piney hops and milk chocolate building in the middle; after the swallow, the hops hold their own as a counterweight to keep the sweetened coffee in check but the honey really comes through in the aftertaste
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with low carbonation
Overall: A rather promising first effort at bottling a beer for this new brewery; some elements could be improved but I am rather enjoying the beer as is

22oz bottle into a couple of snifters. Thanks go to my buddy Barscream for sharing this one with me. Pours black with a rich mocha head. This stays robust and frothy, leaving swathes of thick lace behind. The aroma is very strong with roasted coffee character, backed by notes of sweet cocoa and some ripe citrus flavor. Coffee pretty much dominates this. The taste is similar, with that coffee in particular really emerging as this warms up, finishing this with a dry roastiness. Chocolate and a touch of caramel add some balancing sweetness, while some light green citric hops add a bit of bitter pop to this. The mouthfeel is fuller bodied with a softer feeling yet still firm creaminess to the carbonation. That 10% ABV is nicely hid. I didn’t think this was bad at all. It just took a while to get going and the complexity could have been a little better once you get past all of the coffee. Hopefully this one will continue to get tweaked, as it’s on its way to being a solid beer.

Snifter at Triple C. Pretty dark nearly black pour, nice frothy light tan head. Laced a tad.
Aroma, yep that is coffee. A little malt and dark chocolate.
Taste, definetely coffee forward. It's a tad acrid. There is a little roast malt, but it is kind of overpowered. Cocoa and coffee finish.
About medium bodied. Coats well enough. Not quite creamy. Faint warming from the abv. Has potential, can be improved I believe. Needs a little something additional to the coffee. Worth trying though.
